[Solved] How to disable delivery report notification? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to completely disable the delivery notification after sending and sms/mms? There was a thread on xda regarding that issue but it doesn't fully solve the problem.

Go in Messages -> settings-> uncheck Delivery reports both in the SMS and MMS section

I'm amazed anyone still used the stock text messaging app when you have excellent apps like GO SMS Pro which is streets better with much more functions

I have recently purchased an S3 and I am quite happy with it except it is showing one unread message and when you open messages there is not any unread messages.
I have managed to clear it by rebooting my phone and then when I receive another SMS it goes back one unread even though I have read.
How do I clear this annoyance.

Are you using the stock messaging app? I bet you're not... If you have a third-party SMS app, the stock messaging app will continue to register and notify about new messages received, even if they've been read in the third-party app.
To resolve this, just switch off notifications in the stock messaging app.
This is a bug in the firmware, it has been fixed you just need to wait for the OTA to be pushed to your phone

No. This is a problem with some S3s. Check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705015
My colleague had this issue and I played around with it on Friday without success but she says that the issue was resolved on Friday and she has received several messages and calls but the 1 is not stuck on the icon after reading the message anymore. I am at a loss as to what I did...

[Q] Facebook Messenger and Delivery Reports

Hi guys! Many user are facing a serious issue with Facebook Messenger: it automatically activate the Delivery Report in SMS when using it as the main SMS app. So, what's the matter? Well, the problem is that in some country (as here in Italy) the delivery reports are billed 0,20 € each!! Many users spent near 10€ to realize where the problem is.
So my questions is : is there a way to "mod" the facebook messenger app to disable this terrible delivery reports "functionality"?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!
There should be a check box in messanger settings that controls the all messages in one app function.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I know that checkbox, but what we are looking for is a way to disable only the delivery reports while keeping the SMS support of facebook messenger.
This is a very common option in the most of SMS apps (like go sms or handcent, etc.), but in facebook messenger the only option that we have is only SMS on/off.

I would also like a way to disable/enable the delivery reports while keeping the facebook messenger as the default app for SMS/MMS.
Has any one found a solution to this yet?
Thanks!
P.S. Also, How do I know a sms was delivered? I mean I still haven't seen a delivery report. What does a delivery report look like in the facebook messenger?

I totally agree! I can't understand the point of adding the delivery report without even using it! Maybe in the future updates they'll add some note under the sent messages, like what they do with the standard facebook messages.
There is no delivery option ???
Where exactly you guys see the delivery report? in my messenger app version supporting sms/mms, I don't see any delivery raport, but I would like to see that. Samsung stock app sends sms after every sent sms, which is very annoying, that why I switched to messenger, but no delivery raport included option
Yes, as far I know, Facebook Messenger SMS Integration still no Delivery Reports features... I will happy use it if this features (Delivery Report) has available

SMS notifications not workng

Since flashing Archidroid, Im not getting SMS notifications anymore.
I have notifications checked in two different messaging apps and I'm still not getting them.
The SMS itself arrives, I see it in the messaging apps.
Haven't found any solution online. Everywhere I go I see references to the notification check box which I already have checked.
Please help!

[Q] KitKat bug: SMS sent from non-default app results in duplicate outgoing message

Using GlowFly, SMS Enhancer, and SMS Popup (all similar apps), and their Quick Reply feature, stock messaging and Chomp both show the same message going out twice (the recipient actually receives one message).
I believe this is because of KitKat's new requirement of a default SMS app being the only one that can send. However, Quick Reply circumvents it, and I think it results in this bug.
Anyone know what I can do to fix it? I love the feature.
Thanks!
Please let me know if this is not the right forum.

Question No way to disable warning when sending SMS messages? OnePlus N20

Am I the only one with this issue? If I try to send an SMS message, I get the 'Messages would like to send a message to '704704' (example). This may cause charges on your mobile account. There is zero options anywhere for it to remember my choice! I've checked phone settings, tried disabling it in the System UI Tuner App, checked app security settings, etc. I've tried with various third party messaging programs but the message still pops up! Its not exactly the end of the world, but it is a minor annoyance.
Which model number and carrier are you using
