Hi everyone, i've found a very easy way to have a custom screen off animations for galaxy y (applicable to all android devices).
Purpose:
1. beautiful screen off animations to replace the boring system default
2. long life for your power button becuz, u will now be using the menu key (long pressing) for turning the screen off.
What u need?
1. Holo launcher (for me best home launcher replacement, as smooth as launcher pro and many more features)
available in the google play for free.. for more info about this launcher see this post http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640696 or the original thread http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636393
2. Screen Off and Lock (this app is also free in google play but if u want to help the developer get the donate version)
Instructions:
1. Download and install Holo launcher, and make it your default home launcher.
2. Download and install Screen Off and Lock.
3. After installing the Screen Off and Lock, 2 Screen Off and Lock icons will appear in your app drawer. Open the Screen Off and Lock and enable device administrator.
4. Then Open the Screen Off and Lock Configuration (the other one). Scroll down, check the delay device locking and choose your preferred screen off animation.
5. Go back to Holo launcher and open the launcher settings>Gesture and keys>Long press menu key> then select launch app> then scroll down and find the Screen Off and Lock (not the Screen Off and Lock confi). SAVE! and that's it.
6. Use now your menu key (long press) to turn off your screen or to lock your device (using power button will still turn off your device but with no animations).
ADDITIONAL: You can also use the swipe up or swipe down gesture to do the same. That's it if your not comfortable using the menu key.

Really annoying! Any ideas?
What I have mine set like,
Under softkeys settings:
Softkeys Service >
- Run Service - Unchecked
- Run at Boot - Unchecked
Virtual Home Button >
- Normal/Long Press - Launcher Pro (Or whatever Launcher you prefer)
Physical Home Button >
- Set Single Tap to Softkeys, Double to Launcher
Other settings are tailored to Taste/Preference.
What this will do is disable the Popper button (which I hated) but allow you to see the Softkeys menu whenever you tap the N button, and straight to your homescreen with a double tap. This will disable the DPad thing along with it.
Long press the popper

Hi,
I've tried to do this but now my N button does not perform any action. I used home switcher to make soft keys my default launcher, but the N button is not working at all. It does, however, wake up the NC from sleep, but once the NC is on, the N button stops working. Can you help me with this?
Im on a simple rooted NC (using BN 1.1) with autonooter and I have Zeam and Softkeys installed.
I have had my Galaxy S2 for a few days now. Originally when I pressed the home button it would take me to the center home screen ( I use LauncherPro ). Suddenly it started going to this screen - see attached screen shot.
Does anyone know how to fix?
That looks like the dock which is in the Clock application.. I can suggest a few things.
1. Check settings in launcher pro and see what the home binding option is.
2. Go to clock application and clear any defaults, then press home button and select launcher pro as default.
3. Uninstall and re-install launcher pro and press home button and set launcher pro as default.

You were right, it was the home screen landing setting in launcher pro, I had inadvertently switched it to hide notification bar, and instead the car dock screen showed up when I pressed it. All fixed now!
When I using this apps in ICS...I can directly press the Home Key to unlock the Phone..also the Original Slide lock still function...did anyone have some problem?
in widgetLocker setting menu "buttons and inputs" are enabled:
Allow Menu Button
Allow volume buttons
Only During music
Allow long press
Allow interactions
Slider Button as interact
Other settings are disabled.
I found it earlier, when I used this application. I use the GO Locker today...
Need simple 3 different apps..

RECENT APPS
Screen Wake by shake / multitouch screen & allow to unlock unlock
Objective is not to use physical button as I've bad experience of using button they fail quickly due to mechanical wear, journey started with Nexus One...
Simple app HOME takes to home want to put in quick launch JKay, Screen Wake by shake or screen touch
Currently I use home launcher and select home required. May be someone can use this code & recode.
Also want to put the recentapps application to my quicklaunch.
I thinks its one liner code, can someone please make it available in Market, I'm sure it will go superhit...
Hi guys,
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the action of pressing the physical home key when on the home screen? Currently it goes to google now, but I would like to configure it to go to app drawer since I already have google mapped to double tap and google assistant mapped to hold.
I'm on XenonHD 7.1 and open to any suggestions!
Cheers
A lot of launchers like Nova let you decide what pressing the home button will do while on the homescreen. By default for most it's the "edit" screen where you can add pages and change your wallpaper and whatnot.
See here: http://i.imgur.com/4qNoBNM.png
You can also remake the Pixel launcher in it as well now.
I'm using Nova already! completely missed that option! thank you!
