Is it average speed or one of good ones? I am planning to purchase int'l version and use it on ATT and I will be happy if I can get that speed on HSPA+.

I would say that is a good result for me, but I have seen other users with about 5 MBPS down also.
It also really depends on where you are. I live in a really hilly area so my reception can vary quite a bit. With that said, the lowest I've seen on this phone is 2mbps which is still good enough for me since I have unlimited data.
As for your pending purchase of this phone, I would do it all over again!

i've been getting b/t 3 and 8mb down on hspa/hspa+ in the los angeles area.
while it's a far cry from the 18-23mb i get on my LTE phone, it's more than adequate for internet browsing and what i basically use my phone for.

[Q] Modem for OPTUS Australia

Hi.
Where can I find a CWM flashable file for I9100 for Optus Australia?
I'm currently wih XXKH3 and my data connection is real slow and the reception sucks compared to an iphone.
Thanks.

How about searching around a bit.
The Australian thread has heaps of info about modems.
I can tell you that KI3 and KL1 have preformed best for me on Optus using I9100.

it very much depends on the reception and the coverage, especially in countries like Australia.
i've tried several but there has been no findings.
the best way for you i believe is switching into Telstra
Why telstra?
And I'm in sydney bondi junction

It's pretty common knowledge that Telstra have by far the best network in Australia.
Coverage and speed easily out do the alternatives.

It's true though. On average, you're going to get better coverage and data speeds on Telstra than Optus.
Simple reason is that have a better established mobile infrastructure with more mobile towers than any of the competitors.
I was on Optus last year and during peak times (lunch time or after 5pm) it was almost impossible to get a decent internet connection. I couldn't even browse the web. After switching to Telstra, I've had no troubles whatsoever. Even on the train ride home I've got constant coverage and fast data speeds. I watch youtube a lot on the way home and it's never once cut out.
The reason i asked about optus modem firmware is because my internet is crawling to the point it gets disconnected everytime. I'm currently with XXKL1 modem but i see no difference with the speed. I get 1Mb with speedtest.net on average while I used to get between 5 to 7 Mb in Israel with Orange and same phone.

Actually Telstra hits HSDPA+ Vodafone hits HSDPA, while Optus barely hits 3g so yeah just saying. Just use Intratech's post and find one that matches

By the way that's from the best of my knowledge I could be wrong

Optus for me gets H always and a few times H+ and I'm in a rural area not Sydney CBD.
Totally depends on what area etc as to what you get with what carrier. I moved to Optus from Telstra because of better reception in my area.
Some time ago I couldn't get reception with Vodafone but when I went into the outback Vodafone was the best because they spent a fortune on their network to service outback hiways.
Really kl1 should be good on the I9100 but if you have I9100T your better off with one of the modems that came out with that model. All that info is in the modem and aussie threads.

It's pretty common knowledge that Telstra are by far the biggest rip off I've seen anywhere, let alone Australia.
I'll continue to enjoy paying 1/4 of the minimum plan for Telstra, while getting full bars in my house - all while I happen to be in 'another' Telstra blackspot (My parents and friends have no reception anywhere in my house).
They're a joke - if I want 3g connectivity I go for Optus (because of the price difference), when I recently lived in the city I went for 4g Vodafone, all with great coverage/downloads and all far cheaper than the 'alternative'.
Either way, I'm really confused why you posted that when the original post was simply asking for a I9100 modem for a phone on the Optus network...
I'm even more confused as to why you necroed a >2 yr old thread to make a point that's purely subjective/a matter of opinion & a case of YMMV

Where do you see LTE start to fall off in Atlanta, I've gone as far north as Forsyth and haven't been knocked off LTE yet.
With my sgs2 had an lte connection almost everywhere even down in fayette county. With the note i don't even have an lte connection here in glendale ca just which with my skyrocket i had full lte. I think.Im just.going to go exchange it for another.

I will be testing this tomorrow in Houston. Skyrocket ranges anywhere between 12-60mbps down. Insane. Can only hope that the Note gets the same.

So far the highest I've gotten is 41Mbps↓ but I think some people are getting in the 50's. Probably aren't likely to see 60 much anymore as the network starts to actually get users.

AT&T supposedly going to turn on LTE on roughly 150 towers from Jupiter,FL and south. They turned on LTE at new Marlins stadium opening day.

Like the previous guy said you get edge speeds unless tmobile has refarmed the 1900 MHZ in your area for HSPA speeds.
Below is the list of cities where tmobile has refarmed the 1900 MHZ.

My connection is spotty too, but that really depends on the area. On areas closer to the Antenna it stays connected most of the time. But where I live my experience is close to yours.
I am on T-Mobile, did the Nexus conversion, and I can confirm that I am unable to get 3G on the 1700mHz band. I live next to a T-Mobile tower, and my last phone (TMOUS HTC One S) got 3G signal without a problem, so I know it isn't the area. I am only able to get EDGE and I have the Nexus 4 modem M9615A-CEFWMAZM_2.0.1700.33.

Miami is probably already refarmed with the 1900mHz band. Where I live about 40 minutes from Tampa, I do not get 3G from my home, which is near a T-Mobile tower.

HTC Rezound on Simple Mobile with 3g /HSPA /LTE?

I have my rezound on the leaked Global update rom on Simple Mobile $40 plan. I am in Indianapolis, Indiana and moving soon to
Denver Colorado... I want to have speeds better then Edge. Does Indianapolis, Indiana or Denver Colorado areas have the ability to use something better then Edge speeds for data? Do I need to wait for the ATT spectrum that Tmobile got as part of the break up of the merger? Tired of edge....

You well get no better than edge speeds on T-Mobile or att networks due to the resound not supporting the frequency band they operate on. Unless your in am area T-Mobile is refarming 2g spectrum to HSPA+

does anyone have simple mobile in Denver Colorado and have a rezound on it? Are you getting any 3g or better speeds. If so how did you get the better speeds? I read that Denver has been refarmed as someone with an iphone 5 has 3g service. I will be moving to Denver on March 1 so just wanting to see... I am in Indianapolis which so far i only have edge speeds... unless i need to edit something....
The only way it would work is if you could get a plan using att network through simple plan and do the radio edits described in the link above. Otherwise, gl until T-Mobile launches there new platform.
