Unusual system apps allways running - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

My tablet keeps waking up randomly and doing weird things with the battery meter. In the running apps menu even after multiple factory resets 3 system apps are constantly running for no reason. The apps are CMClient, DMClient, and KeyBoxProvision. My brother has a prime also, and these don't run all the time on his. I did notice though that after a reset, they did not start until I connected to wifi. My brothers prime was identical to mine until I factory reset. I'm just wondering what these apps are, and if anyone has issues with them running all the time.

I'm not sure you'll be happy about what some of them do.
DMClient and KeyBoxProvision are for OTA checks/updates, CMClient linked to DMClient is for spying your device.

[Q] Buggy Phone, Factory Reset, Now What to Do?

My 4G will be 2 years old in February. It is quite buggy now, it likes to lag a lot or glitch, it's definitely not the lightning machine that it used to be. I saved all of my data and am going to perform a wipe/factory reset and wipe the cache partition (hopefully I am allowed to do that, if not, oh well too late).
Is there something more potent then a factory data reset using the Android Recovery mode while not in the phone OS? It resets the phone but I have the latest OS, which I think could end up keeping all of my bugs. Can I go back to the original OS when the phone shipped and legitimately start over and re-update everything? I logged back in and an app widget was still there with writing on it, some of my pictures, and some icons I moved around. this is after I did a rest outside of the phone, then went in the phone and did another reset. So much for wiping all of my data I guess.
So, if this does not fix the buggyness of the phone, what should I do? The phone likes to press buttons randomly and I have to hit the power button to lock it, and then unlock it for the magic button pressing to stop. This is common. Apps are slow or time out a lot and it takes the phone FOREVER to reboot. It love to randomly restart, especially using pandora or spotify. It takes a long time to connect to Wifi, sometimes I have to go to the wifi settings to wait for it to automatically choose my saved network, which baffles me like crazy.I did have the most recent update of course. I think the finger print scanner also stopped working... or it never did work. Lastly, the vibrating unit doesnt always vibrate, it likes to vibrate on a few keystrokes and it randomly stops, then starts up again. **** this phone. It really makes me want to go to an iPhone... and I am a hardcore windows computer tech and I hate apple, but ****, why cant anyone build a stable OS?
So, assuming my phone works correctly, what should I do to it once it's up and running? I am ready to Root the phone and try some new apps and hacks and what not, especially if it makes the laptop dock mode faster, cause right now it's slow as ****.
Factory reset basically wipes the /data partition.
I would also recommend you do a format of the internal sd, after the factory reset (see storage in the system settings). This way, files on the sd will have no impact on apps as you reinstall things.
Regarding returning to an earlier Rom version, I would not recommend as being part of the solution. Newer Rom version are better usually. Gb by motto is solid.

[Q] S II 'soft' reboot

Apologies in advance for the potentially vague description, but I also cannot find a solution elsewhere on the forum.
Earlier today, I was watching a YouTube video and then I locked my phone and left it to charge whilst I went downstairs (as I often do). When I returned roughly an hour later, I found the screen on, which I only ever do if I've left Draw Something open, or some similar app - but it was on the lock screen.
(none of that is necessarily important, I just wanted to clear up the "what did you do to make it start rebooting" question)
Anyway, after unlocking the phone, the screen went to black and the phone restarted.
However, it wasn't a "real" reboot, because the boot screen didn't come up, etc. It's just like just the UI is restarted. I can usually use the phone for about 30 seconds at a time. This seems extended when I have flight mode on, and is even longer still when I have the phone locked.
I've uninstalled some potentially-offending apps, removed the SD card, cleared some apps' data, but to no avail.
I'm using default 4.0.4 from Samsung. The only issues I'd had with it until now were that some apps crashed occasionally, but I attributed that mainly to the apps themselves.
The most annoying thing for me is that is seems like it's an issue that can be fixed quite simply, without having to uninstall every app or factory reset the phone.
Anyone have any other ideas as to what I could do? Thanks!

Multiple internet-based apps broken after 4.4.2 update

Im having issues and I really don't want to factory reset the phone unless no one has any ideas. Netflix, Pandora, Amazon, Playstation, and Vudu all time out and give some sort of an error about inability to connect when I try to use them. Happens on both 4G and Wifi. Have tried reinstalling all apps and rebooting. Task manager disabled.
Anyone else having similar problems? My phone isn't rooted.
Well I broke down and did a factory reset...
Everything is functioning like it should be now.

Galaxy SIIX SGH-T989D crashing issues

Hi,
I'm looking for some general advice and troubleshooting for my phone's issues. My phone started crashing very often, sometimes at complete random, as well as when I was using it fairly heavily (any app that froze my phone for a second before loading before the crashing would now crash my phone). Sometimes it would reboot fine, other times it would bootloop once or twice before reloading fine. I previously tried doing a factory reset, removing my external microSD card, and updating everything via Kies and nothing worked.
I got bored and rooted my phone, did a full wipe, and flashed the latest Infamous update. The problem was still there but it wouldn't crash as often while using it because my phone could handle higher app activity but it's still there. Oddly enough, after flashing Infamous, it often fails to reboot and so I have to do a battery pull before turning it back on, otherwise it won't even vibrate after holding the power button.
I'm just wondering if you guys have any idea what the issue could be. Is it likely still something I can fix? Is this potentially a battery issue or is it a hardware issue?
Thanks so much!

Samsung galaxy s21 SM-G991B/DS app crashes and random restarts

Hey guys!
I've been experiencing some regular random restarts and app crashes. The phone restarts randomly with the Auto Restart Option being turned off and some of the apps crash and I get a notification that the app is experiencing multiple crashes. Then I go to the Device Care and I see that it says that a certain app has experienced multiple crashes. Some of the apps were the Camera App, GBoard, Settings, Google APP etc. Did not have any issues with the device until now. I have factory reset the phone and cleared the partiotion cache. Now the phone restarts randomly at least once a day but it still experiences the issue with the app crashes. Have you guys experienced something like this? I have researched the issue on the web but could not find any particular fixes. I do not think that this is a hardware issue as the phone charges (wired/wireless) and it does not restart randomly during charing. The device also connects to my pc with USB cable without problems as well. I also self checked everything in the Samsung Members app. Everything was working properly. Do you have any suggestitions or advise on how to fix that?
Many thanks!!!!!

I don't have a suggestion for an instant fix. But I suspect one of two possibilities:
1) One other non-Google app running in the background is the culprit.
You don't say whether you did a massive uninstall of apps. Either uninstall one at a time to see if there's improvement. Or all of them.
2) Something is corrupt in the metadata that came from your most recent Android OS patch. Best solution but the most effort would be to do a factory reset and introduce apps slowly over days.
Hi guys I just wanted to mention that something similar happened to my S21. And in my case, it was related to the way I charged my phone. So, I had this very long zoom meeting and my phone was dying so I plugged my phone to a USB port extender plugged to my laptop. My phone was charging super slow probably for an hour or two. After that the random shutting down started nonstop. I restarted, clean the phone app cache, nothing worked. I found the solution: Just properly charge your phone! So I just turned my phone off and plugged to my Anker fast charger and let it plugged until it hit the 85% (I have that option on to extend the battery life) And this fixed the problem . Hope it helps! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...5c-20&linkId=2fb4916d90c22865e74ea6be35805c09
