Hello every one
well first i have to thank every one here in this site and this development section ,, i was following work here for more than a month and i can say its nothing place like XDA .
So i wish if any one can help me , i am new in android world and i am about to buy my first android cell phone and i wish if i can have any help .
I was searching for suitable phone and i found 4 phone close to each others in price and spec. some have dual core processors and other have good camera .
I cant pick one so if any one can help me plz .
this phones are
1. Xperia Ray
2. Xperia Arcs
3. Xperia U
4. Xperia Sola
if you have lot of money, i would recommend you to choose the most expensive phone
Prizes may differ but I think the Ray is more expensive than the new dual core phones?! I would go for the Sola or U, preferable the Sola, I think it looks nicer!

well money isnt big issue coz all 3 has almost same price

4. Xperia Sola: Specs look nice, but a 1320 mAh makes me avoid it.
Besides these look for the support in the XDA community, if there's not enough development for it what's the point.

well first thanks for ur reply and thats true ray is a little bit expensive than xperia U
and little bit cheaper than sola and sola have strong dual core processor like U against single core processor of ray and arc but ray has better ppi 295 against 280 for U and better camera 8.1 MP ,, i am confused !

If you have more capacity, then you get longer battery life.
I really like my Ray. Beautiful inside and out. And I like when someone near me always ask what type it is.
Although I have a plan to buy Google Nexus, I will not sell my ray.

and yes ray is lovely phone i like it but when i was checking the site to buy it i found this and i conseder that Sola and U is new phones and i was thinking about future which one will get next sony support 2011 xperia phones or 2012 ?!!

No, it still depends on the component's usage. It is just like this, Xperia Sola has a dual core processor which consumes more current. With 1350 mAH in a dual core phone, I believe they will get a headache.
And dont worry about support, you know that XDA has a lot of talented developers.
Rather than to buy a "fresh phone", I prefer to buy a new "old phone" because it has many developers.
But if you just use your phone as general usage (without rooting, unlock bootloader, bla bla) so buy the Xperia Sola. It looks nice also.

well i have to say u get into my mind
XDA dont have many developers it has the best
and about battery life i know thats every user nightmare and i guess the only thing that get me angry is to see my phone die at middle of party after using it to take some pics and may listen to music
the sec thing i am a dentist and i can say dentists are artists and handicraft men ( thats a true ) so want it pretty
but i am also a tech geek and i know i will try to work on my phone ( that cost my on of my phone wich is moto k1 R.I.P. XD ) but i guess i wont work in my android for next 2 years

The ray has the best camera . The ARC S has a big screen and its faster than ray but its camera is not that good(Ray has the best camera in colours every made in the phone history). If you U and sola are also good but they dont have MicroSD slot so the choice is yours

The xperia hands down would be the choice for me. Keyboard + otb gingerbread + flash on camera. I believe specs are better on the xperia too.

i love the xperia mini too because of its physical qwerty keyboard.

Xperia won the comparison in everyway, a better with proper flash supported 1Ghz processor, QWERTY keyboard, bravia engine, Exmor R with HD recording, the list is just keep going on. Gio is a no match for Mini Pro. =)

so dnt expect price to be below 15-16000 Indian rupees.

Well, if your current phone has already been sold and you need a new one _now_, I guess can't choose an xperia mini pro 'cause they aren't out yet (to the best of my knowledge).
By the way, I like the phone too a lot. Both it and the Xperia ray. tough choice, neither should be prohibitively expensive, and both have very decent specs and small size. The choice is between higher resolution, thinner and better display (colors) or hardware keyboard

Its not a budget fone,it is slightly highly priced.
Stretch you budget...Go for HD2..Cant stretch budget then buy used one from ebay...you can roll whatever you want to..it support all most everything.

OMG!!! His right!!! In my country, HD2 orginal price is $650, but used one is only $320 cuz they consider old... Same as the fone im using Optimus... Orginal price $350, in a used phone shop, only 4 $200...
Well atleast in India I feel the motorola defy is the best phone under Rs15000 in the mid-high segment.
Its got great dev support,got cm7 and officially supports miui too. Plus better procy+gpu which can eaily be overclocked to 1.2Ghz.

i went to the market to buy neo v but the guys there told me tat its out of production (i know they lied) and i that i should go with nxt series... so i got xperia u according to my budget.. i didnt like it's small screen but i got it for the dual core processor... but now i m thinking of selling it ... m really not seeing any thing special in the dual core processor... m thinkin of getting htc one v or neo v or arc instead... so what do u guys say?? should i sell it or the dual core processor is such a big thing that i should give away the screen size for it????
Dunno about your country, but here in Russia you can get an Xperia P for the same price as One V. Maybe you should go for it.

look xperia p sounds really good...but give a chance to new galaxy nexus(personaly i think galaxy phones sucks but nexus recives all the updates first and its really smooth ) http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_nexus-4219.php

well.. if you can stretch by another 3-3.5 k.. you can get S(infibeam/buytheprice).. you can also look for coupons on the net to get more discount.. I got mine for 26.5k , but if you cant.. in the 25 k range.. there is nothing better than P in the indian market..

Is infibeam safe? i mean Are they ship orignal handset to customers???
they are one of the biggest e-tailers and been around for about 5 years now.. they just do not advertise as much as the other guys.. and they have 30day replacement guarantee.. in case anything is wrong with your set... i got mine from buytheprice.. boxed sett with bill..

Actually i m very confused about choosing right handset...
Thats why i have'nt buy this phone yet...
if you have money to spare go with the S, if not go with sola, i prefer sola than P because of just 1 reason, floating touch
if you are going to wait this one out, then wait a bit longer for the s4 xperia phones

i dont know, but my wife arc s have 512 of ram only and ics is ok , i think the ram of sola is 512 also

xperia P is a good phone bt samsung galaxy nexus or any other google powered phone is above par... P is smooth functioning and has grt display the besides the colour changing transparent slab makes it more catchy and amusing to watch..... i suggest go for it....:good::good::good::good:

It totally depends on your preferences. If you store a lot of music and play HD games you'll run out of memory on the U. Performance wise IMHO the U is better than Sola. Also it has a front cam. Again personal choice i don't like the look of Sola. Make a list of what you want out of your phone and you'll be able to decide yourself

Listen a lot to music, youtube, google, facebook, whatsapp, sms, calls (duh XD), taking photos and videos sometimes...basic use.
the million $ q's is the memory.
How U is better then Sola if they have same CPU, GPU and Ram ?
p.s i play games sometimes while waiting in line or during class xD

On other hand Xperia Sola has .2" bigger screen and expandable memory.
And looking by your requirements Xperia U will do good.

I would go for the sola.. Eventually you r gonna run out of that little 4gb space which is given left for the user in U...

It has total of 6gb available memory.I know it's still less but it would be enough for the requirements he have.
@Nathan It's hard to type in portrait mode.
But in landscape it's very well.

Better go to U! U is NXT Series! (Maybe get longing support from sony)
XPU has cool illumination LED bar!
Front facing camera (who know we can try face unlock on ICS soon?)
Xperia U has sharper screen than sola

Please add some 40$ and go for Xperia P.
It has 1gb ram imo it's totally worth it.512mb ram lags in multitasking/gaming.
Plus it has 4" qhd screen.And ICS and 8mp camera.

Thanks for the suggestion but in Israel the P is way more expensive, almost 100$ more.
Besides the P had the same 1320MAh battery and with it's screen and faster processor it won't last long...

If u really want front facing camera,then go for u.But lemme tell u,4 gb is really not enough,,U cant rely on USB OTG always.So definitely Sola is the better choice,Sola gives a more manly look too.BTW P,U and sola are similar,so Sola will get all the updates which P and U get

It costs the same price as Sola in India and have much better features.It has 4" super amoled screen/better processor/ram than sola.(nothing against Sola but in the same price range it has better spec than Sola.)
Plus it will get Jellybean directly.Try considering that aswell.

it costs about 60$-75$ more.
There are reviews which tell that the touch isn't very good and there is no official statement that it will get JB or ICS.
Therefore I prefer the Sola

Both phones here have the same price.
I like the looks of both phones, my hands arent big. I like J big screen, im ok with 3.5 but what worries me that its 16:9 aspect ratio, wich means its longer and less wider then analog 3.5 inch screen size phones (iphone, galaxy ace).
J doesnt have such good camera as i see in reviews and only 1ghz CPU.
Despite the fact that U doesnt have mSD expansion slot, im ok with that, if i need more gbs i might just use OTG cable with usb stick.
So what is your suggestion?
maybe some of you already had expierience with both phones?
how is performance of both phones compared to each other? video playback? dvix video playback (with decoders installed)?
Go for Xperia j. At least the chip set has sufficient sources for devs to port the latest os. Users like me who are using Xperia p/u/go/sola are struggling to get a working jellybean from coz of poor support from the chipset maker St Ericsson. So if u care about having the latest os go for Xperia j but if u want a better camera and display and an extra core go for Xperia u

But what about overal performance?
ICS isnt that much different from JB if im right?
how about J performance compared to U?

I like the looks of both phones, my hands arent big. I like J big screen, im ok with 3.5 but what worries me that its 16:9 aspect ratio, wich means its longer and less wider then analog 3.5 inch screen size phones (iphone, galaxy ace).
J doesnt have such good camera as i see in reviews and only 1ghz CPU.
Despite the fact that U doesnt have mSD expansion slot, im ok with that, if i need more gbs i might just use OTG cable with usb stick.

Check gsm arena user comments ... i've read that many users are complaining of lag after update to JB in case of xperia j.
Go for xperia j you will get official jellybean along with xloud bravia engine that won't present in custom jb roms...
Go for xperia U. Im using it and am loving it. First off its much better looking than J. The LED bar at the bottom really adds to its beauty. Also the specs of U are much better than that of J. You will have trouble running even slightly heavy applications and games on the J

That was to be expected of a single core 1 Ghz phone with an adreno 200 GPU. My 3 year old xperia x10 had the same specs and I had trouble running GB on it
R: Xperia U or Xperia J?
I suggest to avoid xperia, Sony made many phones but with poor software imho

As i see ICS from JB isnt much different, so OS isnt an issue if its not older then ICS
What about 3.5 inch screen? how does it feel comparing to iphone or ace or any other 3.5?

Leave Xperia U/J and get Xperia go.
On Xperia U you will get dual core while Xperia J you will get latest OS. But on Xperia go you get both and extra! Waterproof and durable phone!

true, but the price is bigger, unfortunetly U/J is the max i can get
id get myself MINI PRO or NEO V but old models arent for sale here anymore

I suggest you to wait a little. Collect money and buy Xperia go. Atleast Xgo have brighter future get JB update.

If you are happy with ICS then i would suggest HTC ONE V.It has more development than XU.
Get HTC desire X.. You can buy it from eBay at cheaper prices or HTC Amaze 4g old but better specs and looks and development. U can also get Xperia P for same price.

Shipping costs and warranty is diffeerent
Now another question, have any of you used LG L7? how does it compare to Xperia J?
go for U, dont just get a phone because of jelly bean. ICS is so good enough. i have U, and my brother has J, and believe me or not his phone is so slow compare to mine.
