Hi,
Should the procedure to bring down the counter to zero with the Triangle Away procedure be done after every flashing of a custom ROM for warranty purposes? Or can you just flash away until something bad happens or when you want to send the phone in for warranty purposes, then do the Triangle Away procedure?
Pointless that way as a custom rom invalidates warranty anyway .
Run triangle away and restore to stock if needs .
My personal method is
Mobile Odin Pro Triangle away and a copy of stock rom in tar format on external sd card .
Run Triangle away .
Run Mobile Odin and install stock rom .

Hey guys..I rooted my sii using CF-root...so my questions are...how to get rid of the yellow triangle and binary count?(are these the only things samsung uses to check if the device is rooted or not..?)if yes i'd use a jig or else what to do..??
i want my phone to be rooted...but also need my warranty...!!
android version:-2.3.3
baseband version:-I9100XXKH3
kERNEL VERSION:[email protected] #2
Build number:-GINGERBREAD.XWKF3
if you want to get rid of binary count, only way is to use the usb jig, though I've heard there's a 2nd counter embedded.
however I've never had any problems with my warranty even after rooting, and have sent in my phone 3 times for various reasons.
just be sure NOT to send it in with a custom rom installed
from what i heard.. all u need to do is unroot ur phone and flash back secure kernel and delete all root apps and voila u get ur warranty back
and btw the yellow triangle is from unsecured kernel that u used to flash into sgs2 to get it rooted u can get rid of that without unrooting ur sgs2 by simply flashing back secure kernel
NO way to get back your warranty.

No, as you've unlocked your bootloader, it'll always show RELOCKED even if you revert to the stock ROM. You can't factory lock the bootloader, i.e., you can't get the warranty back till you don't meet a person who's a noob.
Why revive a 7 mth old thread
It's not possible to have both root and warranty on your phone at the same time.
If there's something wrong in your phone and you can't fix it yourself, you only need to unroot it (if you have a CF-root you only need to flash your stock firmware back and use USB Jig (OR before unrooting using TriangleAway app) to clear your flash counter) and take it to the shop where you bought the phone.

help needed
is there no way to get my cell completely locked and unrooted ie. saying locked on the boot loader screen
i am not lazy searching and reading for over an hour now but yeh im a noob.. i have a rooted samsung galaxy s2. running Hydrogen ICS. Getting all set up for galaxy s 3 and wanna sell SGS2 out. so i just wanna unroot it.. reset the binary code and remove yellow triangle. wanna install latest firmware available on sammobile but need a complete guide if someone could help me out thankyou.
Search harder.
Essentially you need to flash the appropriate firmware for your carrier/area in Odin and use a USB jig to reset the counter if you flash back to Gingerbread. If you are flashing back to ICS you can use Chainfire's Triangle Away app before the flash in Odin.
That's only a loose guide, but should help. There are plenty of guides around if you look hard enough.
After a deep clean (i was on Cyano9) i've returned to 4.0.3. stock italian (which is different from my original stock 4.0.3) And the triangle disappeared, now should i think that my flashing counter is returned to zero? or is still to 1 for my flash to cyano?
I have to send my cellphone to a centre and they will check mi IMEI, are they also able to know that i've flashed my cellphone, since i was on a H3g branded cellphone and now i'm not?

Yellow triangle disappeared because you flashed a stock firmware via Odin. Your binary counter will still be greater than zero.
Use triangle away app by Chainfire to reset binary counter: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
Root access is needed.
Well guys as the title says itself, is there any safe, easy method of rooting S3 on 4.1.1 without triggering the flash counter and with stock recovery like CF Auto Root? But Auto root may trigger flash counter. So can anyone please tell anything about this matter? It's just i bought my S3 yesterday, not so snappy as expected, want to remove useless stock apps n etc but also want to be on the safe side.
Regards
rooting is completely safe. You can reset the counter later, because rooting in itself voids the warranty. But it's perfectly reversible, so you can revert to a fully stock phone with a zero counter.
If you are on the latest ELLA bootloader, the counter will be at 1 if you are rooted or modified in any way.
On older bootloaders use triangle away after rooting to reset the counter

Ok. I'll try and report back
Well guys i used Cf Auto Root and it worked like charm. Phone is rooted now
I had the official Samsung Jelly Bean 4.1.2 installed on my Galaxy SII I9100 (UNROOTED). Flashed CWM using Odin so I could install Cyanogenmod 10.1.3. Now after CWM install there's a yellow triangle on the boot screen. Can go into the Download Mode and CWM Recovery. But I searched and came to know that the yellow triangle doesn't effect the functionality of the device. I just want to know what causes the yellow triangle? Do I need to worry about it or just go on installing the Cyanogenmod? I mean, if it's not a bad news I can just leave it there. Thanks!
Unless you need to send your phone in for warranty service, you don't need to worry about the yellow triangle; it doesn't affect the functionality of the phone in any way. Though you can remove it with Triangle Away (search for the thread on here devoted to it) if it really bothers you.
Basically it means you've flashed an insecure (rooted) kernel, and if you left it there & sent the phone in for warranty service, it would show Samsung's service centre that you had been 'messing' with your phone, and they'd be within their rights to deny you warranty service.

Does that mean I am rooted? 'cause I didn't root. I guess the triangle is friendly then, would just leave it there.
To follow on from the previous post, it doesn't necessarily mean you're rooted, just flashed something not digitally signed by Samsung; in your case CWM. If you go into download mode, it will say not Samsung official, as well as the number of times you have flashed insecure firmware. If you use CWM to flash a rooted kernel or firmware, then you're rooted. But as stated, it doesn't affect functionality. Before TriangleAway, it was almost a badge of honour.
