[Q] Wi-Fi Problem - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello,
I am having a problem with my Xperia S, sometimes I am not able to pickup a Wi-Fi signal that another phone of mine is picking up, I do not know if the problem is that the phone cannot pickup all Wi-Fi Channels. Last time I repaired the phone with Sony only to get it working by unplugging and plugging the router. Today it happened again but this time unplugging didn't solve the problem, did anybody get this problem and came up with a solution?
Latest Stock Rom
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards

Use a channel that's allowed in your firmware. 4 to 7 are usually a safe bet.

Thanks for the answer, i will try it. What i found strange is that both zte blade and a Samsung Galaxy S was able to pickup the wi-fi I supose each firmware has it's channels specified.

Did you try Blade Wifi Fix?
My problem was slightly different. I was able to connect after 4 or 5 attempts. However, it would disconnect every 10 or 15 minutes. Also, there were times it simply couldn't find my wireless network...
After things got better...
Oh I'm rooted...
ok i have just rooted with Z4 root i will install that and let u know
thanks

[Q] sk17i wifi problem

Hello, I just bought a Xperia mini pro a few days ago and there seems to have a problem with the wifi connection on my Lynksys Wireless-G router.
1. when it connects to the router it only has 5 to 10 sec time span connection.
2. tried an application called wifi static on the android market using my mobile network and it didn't work
3. since i am just new here tried to read some forums for 5 hours and didn't get any info or I just got lost in between threads.
4. I don't know how to solve the issues with the router although I am seeing the same problems with other devices. No problems with laptops, other some brands of phones, apple products)
If there is a solid solution to this problem please do reply.
First of all, I think you should try to reset the router.

Tried it dozens of times. I was trying to check on other forums and threads but unfortunately, i didn't see a direct solution. But I was wondering how a SK17i is affected by a fluctuation on a specific 2.4 ghz router. Although other devices work perfectly.
Is there a solution other than changing the rom? Maybe a program or a calibration that is permitted by the device without sacrificing the warranty?
How?

I appreciate your help although im just gonna ask on a specific way to change that. Im still new at this I hope you understand. My expertise lies in a different category. If there is a way that you can help or help on providing a thread on how to change it, it is well appreciated.

im just saying i have wifi problems too and thats cause im on .42 fw. so im asking u what firmware version youre now on. if its .42 than thats most likely the cause of your wifi problem.
so my suggestion is try to upgrade your fw to .58 or .62 and the wifi problem would be gone i guess.
iam now trying to flash to .58 to fix my problems like yours too
edit: if its firmware fault then thats nothing you can do, i have tried wifi fixer from the market and its not fixing so the only way is to upgrade to the latest firmware and thats if youre actually currently on .42 fw

I upgraded to .62 using the pc companion. still having wifi problems. Any suggestions? I tried yesterday roaming around the neighborhood testing the wifi system of all the neighbors using different types of routers. It is working with their router. Unfortunately, my house and my parents house have the same router with the same problem.
I'm looking for a solution that can bypass any router so i wont have any problems wherever I go to. Using my HTC smartphone it works perfectly. Although SK17i doesnt agree with the thought.

well then the answer is simple.
fix your router!
because it is your router fault. not the phone
I had the same problem with my lynsys router when I got my mini pro, it would connect for a bit and disconnect, actually all the devices connected to the router would lose the connection. The fix, updated the router's firmware. No problems since then.
hope that helps.

Thanks so much for reminding me that. I just tried it today and it worked. Although I searched for more than an hour for an answer.
For those who has a Linksys wireless-G Router version 7 (not in the linksys website, I dont know why) just search this code below on Google or your preferred search engine.
FW_WRT54Gv7_*7.00.8.008_2*0090709.bin
Got mine in this website
bergfiles.com/i/bf4859cb7ah32i0
Combine this with the latest SK17i update using the PC companion
And everything will work smoothly

Just fixed it. I appreciate the wake up call. I thought there is a way around it.
The modem was reset so I checked the net. Saw the key to opening up the router website. I left the user id blank and put the password "admin" and got through the router website.
Thanks =]

My galaxy S2 keeps crashing my TP-LINK router

Hi everyone.
When my father got his samsung s2, suddendly my tp-link was loosing its wifi connection, while lan kept working.
In the days when he is not at home, wifi doenst crash, but when he arrives sooner or later after he connects his s2 to our wifi network it goes down.
Recently my dad moved out and i've acquired a s2 to my own. And i think the same is happening with mine too.
And as u may know its really annoying wifi keeps crashing when i have 3 devices that rely on it.
Additional information:

wifi issue

Anyone notice that the xa ultra has some wifi connection issues? For example I'm connected fine and everything and I leave my house and come back.. then it doesn't seem to pick up my home's wifi. I have to restart the phone then it comes back. Anyone else notice this?

Never had that problem.

Every. Single. Day. I leave my house and the wifi won't reconnect at school, or home. I restart my phone and it connects just fine. When I'm at school it won't connect until I restart, and then it connects there fine as well. It would be interesting to see what variables between locations has cause/effect on the connection. I'll do some analysis when I have time, see if there is a time variable associated, like if it happens right away or takes time for the problem to occur. I have a feeling it's related to the cheap parts that Sony used, not sure what wifi chip is installed.
yeah I haven't had this issue yet either. Have an apple airport router. I have only had the phone a week but no problems.
OK it just now happened, (wifi won't connect) and I realized it was just connected when I was inside a building at school without cell reception. I put the phone into airplane mode, then turned on wifi, and sure enough the wifi connected. I'm thinking interference or lack of power is preventing wifi when a medium strength LTE signal is connected. I'll keep testing scenarios that fit this theory.
Just a quick update. It seems putting the phone in airplane mode, then manually turning on wifi only, the wifi connects immediately. Turn airplane mode off, wifi stays connected. No need to restart. Wifi drops on me several times a day and this is my fix. This fix did not work 1 time out of the past 20, and I had to restart.
Mine has been doing the same thing.... ugh Sony can't get their crap right no matter what they do. Dear God.
Anyone else having issues with auto brightness not working properly as well?

No problem here on the normal xa mine is a F3111 LTE model WiFi works and connects great on all Firmwares. Have you tried the software repair option via Xperia companion? If it's still the same after this, you need to take a log using the built in logging application and send the logs via Sony support forum it gives you instructions on how to do it in settings think one of the guys names is Richard, about phone, diagnostics, advanced logging they've actually been pretty good regarding any bugs and fix them once they have some logs to work from.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. Unfortunately, the repair option didn't solve the issue. After Googling it, it appears many users with the 3213 model are having the same issues. Ugh.
I did not know about the "diagnostics" feature. I enabled it and then it auto uploaded and then turned off. So does support email you or Richard gentleman contact me via the phone somehow to give feedback?
Thanks!

As far as I know it's all done through a pm(message) through the Sony support forum. Then they pass it on to the software peep's and then wait for the fix it may take more than one person to provide the logs before they sanction the update unless they find a bigger problem.

Xa ultra wifi
Here's a funny thing, as long as I am not connected to Bluetooth, WiFi works flawlessly, weird.....
I'm just going to assume we have no fix for this yet? the whole resetting my phone is getting really tiring. blah I wish Sony would fix this or at least acknowledge it
I have the same problem with my XA. I've only had the phone a few days and I'm always having to switch it off and back on. SOOOOO annoying. The guy that sold it me said I could just return it. I'm not buying Sony ever again!!!!!
Been having to use my 4g at home alot of the time, which is eating up my data something rotten. It shows the WiFi is on and has full signal, but it's often so slow or even worse dead! I've honestly had 2g on a crap old phone work faster than WiFi at times. I have just "forgotten" all saved WiFi networks and signed into my home WiFi from scratch and put the password in again. Seems to have done the trick, but I'm not holding my breath that it's gonna last.
I'm curious, it might be insignificant, but just wondering what WiFi service providers all of us with problems have? I have BT infinity. For a while I thought that maybe it was just BT being rubbish. But my partner has a Samsung galaxy s8+ and she doesn't seem to have any issues. I've used the WiFi on my linx tablet, no issues. The Xbox one doesn't really lag either.
So it's either that this phone does not like BT or its just my phone being pants!!! Doing my head in, I have to keep getting my partner to send me extra data.
It's seriously getting on my nerves now

This is my first Sony Android phone, and I'm not touching one ever again.. What's worse for me is that mine is still on Sept 2016 update and my carrier locked the bootloader so I couldn't update it myself, as my network don't even care if I have the latest security updates or not

Wi-Fi does not connect

Friends, I have a problem in my redmi note 3 Qualcomm.
It's only been a week since I bought this unit. As soon as he arrived, I changed the ROM MIUI 7.3.7 for global stable and gave it to my mother.
Three days later, the device simply does not activate the Wi-Fi. I have reinstalled other versions of MIUI and remains the same.
I unlocked the bootloader after that to try to make some tutorials I've seen on the internet but got no results.
Is hardware problem? please help me to solve this problem.
Already, thanks!
Note: I am using the google translator.
Same problem here Wifi appears on but does not show any available networks.

Desperate here. Have tried reflashing fastboot official roms 8.0.4 and the latest dev rom, and moving back to 7.5.2.0, but nothing works. Wifi doesn't see any networks in range. Can anyone suggest a test using the CTL diagnostics or some other method to determine if it is a hardware issue ? The phone was not dropped, and was not in heavy use, so overheating should not have happened.
