[Q] Problem with unpacking boot.img - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I've tried to unpack the boot.img from CM7 for the Galaxy Player 4.0, but I always get the message:
Android Magic not found in boot.img. Giving up.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

I also got this error with Dsixda's kitchen (you are using it right?). I didn't know how to fix it so I gave up, but I found this page which explains it a bit. Apparently its to do with the gzip file missing a certain hex code or something

Make sure the boot.img system and meta-imf are all in the root of ur zip, and not in a folder. I had this problem, was called Honeysense, and inside the zip was a folder with them files and folders

As a beginning ROM dev, one of the troubleshooting tools which will really help will be learning how to read the recovery error log. The recovery error log will contain more verbose error messages than what is output to the display screen. This error log will contain all issues with the general .zip file and specifically with the updater-script file.
The recovery log is usually located at either or both /tmp/recovery.log or /cache/recovery.log.
If you can post up the section of this log containing your error we can provide a more specific solution. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Thanks buddy, will try to post it later, I'm wondering if I was to flash it using clockwork recovery, instead of the team revolution recovery, the rom itself looks identical to other working roms when I compare them side by side using 7zip, not completely identical but everything looks like it's in the right place if you know what I mean.
I even took a custom rom that works on my phone, put it through the kitchen, didn't really change anything with it, when I tried to flash it, got the status 0 error, wondering if it's the recovery having trouble seeing it? I always change it back to updater-script, which is recommended, oh well keep playing with it, thanks

[Q] [JB]How to remove or change the splash logo of Cherry Mobile Flare s100?

Guys, I'm really bugged by the Cherry Mobile Flare logo. It's like this: when our devices (S100, otherwise known as the Karbonn A9+ in India) are still in Android ICS(4.0.4), it's really a breeze to change the boot(splash) logo using the AIO flasher. Anyways, since we updated our devices to JB 4.1.2, I have tried and failed (countless times) in changing the boot logo using AIO (partition table does not exist). The boot logo also appears during off-charging (before the animated battery). So I searched the web and found the link below(which looks promising) and tried but I get the "can't open dev/block/mmcblock0p18" error. :crying: Any help is most appreciated guys! It's NOT the boot animation, it's THE boot logo guys.
This is the link guys

You'll have to modify kernel (boot.img) yourself then I guess
Try Android Kitchen to extract it and see if you get access to logo.rle

I'm NOT really into linux, Master. Could you give it a try? I'll upload a boot.img of the phone if you have the time to tinker with it.

Bricked ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 ‏(Z580CA)‏..PLEASE HELP!!! Anyone

So here's the thing, first off this Tablet as great as it is..seems like a ghost of an existence in the android community.
Anyways please please anyone at all any suggestions, I've tried numerous things to get out of this boot loop... So what happened is I ended up updating this device with Asus latest zip file they said to manually update with for Marshmellow
I've tried to re-install the zip file again using the IntelAndroid-FBRL-07-24-2015, to which now doesn't work nor does ADB Fastboot, it recognizes the device.. but now all commands pretty much fail... I don't know what else to do with this.
I did however installed the Asus Flash Recovery Program, I just cannot for the life of me find what file to use to re-flash this. Anyone please ANY SUGGESTIONS
If anyone at all has access or knows a working link for ZenPad Recovery files or raw image files.. I haven't been able to see if Asus Flash Recovery can help.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. I tried the Asus Flash Recovery Program and found a raw file that seemed to be the right one. After flashing the tabled remained stuck on a spinning logo, however a hard reset in recovery solved that. My tablet is now back up and running.

Can you tell me what version of Asus Flash Tool you were using? I'm trying to us the 1.0.014 but alll it lets me use is a zip file. I've seen videos people using 1.0 and pulling up a choice between zip file or raw files.
If you can let me know that would be great and thanks again for your help!

Did the file download have a hash value or file to check if the download is good? This is usually an md5 or sha255 checksum that is used to verify data integrity. That's really the only way to be sure the file wasn't corrupted during a download.
Aside from making sure you're flashing a good file, you should wipe cache/dalvik cache.
Was the stock ROM equivalent to the last stock that was on the device? Some devices don't like a roll back to an old version.
Yes the file contains checksum file but it shows error while flashing. Saying "error in checksum value" so i removed the checksum file and flashed. It is the equivalent version of rom previously mobile had.
You can visit the website to check the file either error or not. Please help me to overcome this problem.

If there is an error in checksum value, I would be pretty suspicious. The fact that you're now having trouble makes me more suspicious. Maybe you should try the download again, or a different download.
This is not a well supported device. Where did you get the ROM from?

I have spent a significant amount of time hunting down an E20 ROM. The only links that are not dead, link back to that same file. I did see several posts on different sites referring to that file and its failure to work. I'm sorry, I don't know how else to help you.
