Prl update keeps popping - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

So if you dial *2 you get this sprint app with some info it says there is a PRL update for some reason, I go thru the progress and same PRL I go back to the app and still says the same (is sprint zone app you can look at it in your drawer) [ any ideas why it keeps saying that?

If you do a profile and PRL update under the normal settings options, this may resolve your PRL issue.

For those still on 51082... keep trying. I did the PRL update 4 times before it updated, but now I'm on 51083.
What does prl do for the phone?
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
For those whos prl wont update. Make sure u turn wifi off then do update. During update my mopho would connect to wifi. It needs to do update over 3g. Sure enough when i turned it off it updated.

That may just be a coincidence that it just happened to work when you turned off wifi. I had mine on wifi all four times, and the fourth time is when it worked.

Sprint supposedly has a setup that will update your PRL on boot, to the phones that the prl is updatable.

New prl destroyed 3G in my home (I think). On 82 I would always hit around. 93 to 1mb easily and since yesterday I can't hit over .33! *sad face*

I found the same issue initially..as speed test showed 450kbps, but after I called *18, and re ran the test, I came up with this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I never reboot my phone hardly ever. Haha, so I don't know if I'll get the update via that, but I'm gonna go try to update it here in a minute. And KT what's *18?
Hey buddy, i read somewhere that when you call *18, it connects you to the closest tower, or something like that so you can get a better connection and boost signal.

[Q] service update?

Any of y'all have any idea of what this could be? It was on my screen when I took it out I'd my pocket and I left it for 10 mins before I cancelled it from not doing anything....

That's generally the message you get when your profile is updating.
I got that yesterday out of the blue also. Except on mine, it went away after a bit, and gave a message to the effect of "Your services have been updated". Still rooted and unlocked though. I did have rootkeeper installed, but I don't know if that came into play or not.

I had the same thing and once completed it said that my PRL had been updated.
PRL is now 25004
Ya I got that about an hr ago. I was trying to do a speed test after I updated PRL. I kept getting error try again. So I updated profile, that went through fine then tried to run another test, but before the test started my screen went black and did the Service Update
I had that occur after I updated the Prl both times. After I clicked on my Kindle app it updated the 'service'. Did you recently update your Prl?
I'm thinking it has some link to that.
Mine had the same message, but the only change I saw was a PRL update.
its a profile update

Perhaps a number of lte sites have gone recently and sprint is pushing out profile updates so phones can connect to them?

settings --> system updates --> htc software update --> uncheck scheduled update
(at least that is what I think you're referring to..)

Anyone noticing your EVO LTE trying to auto-update 7/10/12?

I was actually on my phone when it happened, I cancelled immediately. I'm on Mean Rom v1.2. It was attempting Software Update. I cancelled and manually updated PRL, which updated my PRL to 25005.
was likely a profile/prl update you saw being pushed....not a "software update" in a sense...I show 25005 here too btw...
I haven't seen my phone trying to update but I just did a prl update and it did put me on 25005

Mine randomly updated the PRL today. I just let it ride even though I was already on 25005. Just seems to have been a push from sprint.
Why am I still on pro 24005? I manually checked for an update.
How can i see what prl I I'm on? checked under system information can't find it.

That's all it was? An update for the people app? That is strange. wouldn't be surprised if they added in a fix for the bootloader exploit and/or root exploit too.
Edit: I thought it was like an OTA OS update, now looking it seems it's just HTC's way of updating system apps I guess?

New PRL

Some of us are interested when a new PRL comes out hoping for better reception. So we'll just keep track of them here.
I can't figure out why we've got a new set of numbers, but we do. The old/original was 55019.
The new PRL is 51101
If you want to update, it'll do it automatically eventually....
Settings>System Updates, update Profile, then update PRL
Just did mine, thanks!
