Is there a way to get the music controls on the lockscreen
It's frustrating to have to unlock the phone every time I want to change song.

I believe there are some threads about this 'issue'. Anyway, try a different music player. I believe Poweramp adds lockscreen controls.
edit:
Oh, and try to put questions in the Q&A topic next time ;-)
After switching the Locksreen from swipe to pattern, i have Musicplayercontrols, at least, when I have music playing.

With stock music player?
No, I use spotify. Tried with stock but that doesn't show up... Sorry.
Thanks for your replys
As I have discovered you can pull down the notifybar and access the controlls if you don't have activated any form of screen/security lock.
it's annoying that samsung killed this feature...
Wow that blows - Have you tried Google Music ?
From lockscreen you can pull down notifications which has controls in it for music

Hi guys, I was wondering if there's any app or mod that will let me control my music from the lock screen so it'll be easier to control while driving? The music co tell on the htc inspire is the perfect thing im talking about.
Thanks
Pred.
not aware of anything like that, but i know for a fact there is an app out there for it. but you could always move your music streaming to your home tab of your device and keep the device from sleeping and be able to control it that way too.
use doubleTwist and you can have the lock screen controls.
PowerAMP allows for lockscreen controls as well. I also believe there's at least one lockscreen substitute that allows you to use any homescreen widget(s)?
Widgetlocker will let u use any widget on the lockscreen, and if u ask me is an absolute must to have as the default lockscreen is soo bleh!!

Poweramp is the perfect solution for me. Not only does it allow me to control the music from teh lock screen but it also lets me amp the music like crazy to get MUCH louder volume from my new bluetooth stereo headset!!!!!!
Thanks man!!
I want to bring to attention 2 Problems that I am facing with my new Galaxy S3:
1. Using the stock music player on the default lock screen (swipe), there is no music control feature to pause and skip tracks when I am listening to music. Now I know that there are 3rd party apps that can do that, but I am pretty sure that the stock music player must be able to do that too, since on my galaxy s it works. Has anyone the same problem and any ideas on how to solve it? I am thinking maybe it's a bug on my phone, and considering to 'manufacture reset' the phone to see if it changes.
2. I cannot find the stock task manager app anywhere. I know how to start the task manager ( hold home button), but the app is not there and neither any widgets. I wish there was a widget, so I can put it on the home screen to save time. Any solutions? ( again, not using 3rd party apps)
Thanks in advance
PS: I am also curious how to get rid of the branding logo (Optus Australia) that shows up on start-up, it really makes it look bad. Any suggestions?
I'm having exactly the same questions.
Has anyone a idea?
You can find the music controls by pulling down the notification bar on lockscreen. Let's hope they fix this in the next update.
Yeah, pulling down the notification bar works, but it's an extra step which is pretty much useless, because you might just as well swipe and unlock the phone. Really hope that Samsung/Google fixes this problem, it's so basic.
Also, the stock internet browser seems to be not perfec either: Flash-related problems can occur, especially when watching youtube using the browser, sometimes it just keeps loading and doesn't play. I got the adobe flash player installed, still no change. Anyone sharing same problems?
same question, is there any way to add a shortcut to task manager other than long press home key ?
If you want task manager you can go Samsung app store you can download it. While you are there download photo editor too.
You get music controls if you use a Pin lock instead of just swipe... Silly, I know, but at least you increase your phones protection too

I have a pinlock and get no music controls at all. Tried all the various settings?
Is it possible to control(next track, previous track) the default music player with the volume buttons?
Can it be done using a different music player such as the walkman app in conjunction with holo locker?
Dont know about the app u r talking, but try PlayerPro , it has an option to change track by vol rockr, but only in lock screen :good:

I think he is talking about using the volume buttons to change music tracks while on the lockscreen with the default music app

I've used playerpro before but I've always had issues with it due to the fact that you can't lock playlist, so when ever i scroll through one i end up moving songs around.
I know the L9 has LG's custom lock screen and that the walkman music player wouldn't work with it nor can the volume buttons be used for playback controls but I'm not sure if using a different lock screen such as holo locker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker&hl=en) will cause it to change.

VolumeNext
Pocket Skip Track
After I updated my Galaxy S2 to Jelly bean I noticed that the music player controls were removed from the lock screen, is there any way to get it back? Any app that can fix this? or other player?

Make sure you disable any type of password lock in the lockscreen. Then, play some music. Lock your phone, now wake it up and pull down the notification bar. You see the music controls there? Use them & Have fun.

I am wondering if there is an android app or mod that lets you use gestures with the screen off for apps like PowerAmp?
on the iPhone you could set up gestures to skip tracks, raise/lower the volume, and play music with the screen off.
I believe double tap was play, sliding finger up and down was the volume, and skipping tracks was sliding to the left or right. I really miss this feature cause I used it a lot.
Anybody know of something like this for Android?

That doesn't seem to have any features listed unless starting the music player unless I'm missing something?
