What kind of rom would you like? Something similar to stock? Something themed? Something AOSP-ish?
Something Stock but with tweaks: ARHD found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342291 or Quick Droid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678745
Energy stock version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722579
Something themed with lots of tweaks SuperSaiyan: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673609
Speed Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623184
Themed Energy rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362759
Beta ROM still under construction but still pretty good though it has a few bugs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722665
Note, you'll have to flash 4EXT recovery before attempting to flash any of these roms, some rom providers have special requirements, so read the thread for any of these. I can't give a specific rom because well we all have our own likings, so it's better for you to test 'em and see what you like.

I am new at flashing roms on HTC.. so bear with this question if stupid. Any reason , I can't take out boot image out of PH98IMG and flash in bootloader then place rom on SD card and flash ?
Just trying to avoid Main ver issues in the future, plus I like to manually flash the kernels in fastboot . Seems to work out better for me .
Normally, I remove boot.img , flash rom.. reboot to bootloader then fastboot flash the boot.img and reboot phone.
It has worked great for me so far and I have avoided any main version issues so I can swap between ICS and GB if needed.
To my knowledge, there are no problems with the ROM, but if you found anything, please report back so I can fix it as soon as possible!

There is no Boot.img in this ROM, that's why you need to flash the PH98IMG.zip
And yes, you can use Fastboot if you like to, it should be the same.

To everyone, I wouldn't bother flashing until fixed. When the phone boots up after flashing this ROM, it constantly pops up that Swype has stopped working. It also asks for your country which you can't even select.
But with the Swype error, you can't type anything to set anything up. I went into settings and Swype was greyed out so I couldn't turn it off or activate any other keyboard.
I had to revert to my previous ROM because I couldn't do anything with this one. The ROM itself looks promising from what I saw, but it's not usable in its current state.
Hopefully it's fixed soon!

Yes, sorry to report that. I even wiped and flashed again to make sure, and the same problems popped up.
The first thing it asks when you unlock the screen is to choose your country. There is a drop down box but when you click on it, there is nothing in there and it gives an error.
Then the Swype error pops up like very 5 seconds and you can't get any keyboard to pop up to type anything.
As I said, the ROM looks great though! I'm looking forward to the update and see how it runs! Thanks!!

Yes, I hit home a few times to skip it but the Swype error issue completely cripples this ROM. It pops up around every 5 seconds and you can't get a keyboard to pop up at all. Even after going into keyboard settings there is nothing in there as an alternative to do anything with the ROM.

Correct. Most (if not all) factory default roms are odexed. As for installing a custom rom, I'd look at Supercharged Hatka if you want a stock look with tweaks. If you want an AOSP looking rom, go to Battery Plus (Something along the lines of that... Forgot the exact name)
Although once CM10 is working fully, I'd 100% recommend that to anyone!

[ROM][Nov 09] Navalynt's Optimized Base | RC1 Update 2 | 1.23.1540.1 | T6UL (GSM Only)
Introduction
My intention with this ROM is to create an optimized but stable base that I can use for my daily ROM and from which others can customize for their own ROM releases. I have no intention of spending large swathes of my time with programming and debugging for custom features, many of which can be added through the Xposed Framework. As much as I would like to do that I just don't have the time so please don't take offense to the fact that I have no feature request section and may just plain say no if asked to add something.

Please feel free to take this base and build off of it to create your own custom ROMs!

How to Unlock the Bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540004
How to install a Custom Recovery
There are two current options from Flyhalf205
TWRP v2.6.3.0
CWM v6.0.4.4 (touch or classic)
It doesn't really matter which one you use, it's all personal preference. Just download one, reboot to the bootloader (Power + Vol Up), and flash using the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
After flashing the recovery you'll want to reboot into the recovery and IMMEDIATELY make a NANDROID BACKUP. There are no RUUs available (that I know of) so if something goes wrong you need a backup you can restore! My personal recommendation is that you backup to an external SD card and also keep a copy of the clockworkmod or twrp backup store on your computer for safe keeping.

How to Install the ROM
ROM performs a FULL WIPE (except for internal/external SD storage)
First of all, have you made your NANDROID BACKUP yet?
Copy the ROM to either Internal or External SD (doesn't really matter)
Reboot to recovery and flash the zip file!

I can't really talk about the base except that the 1540 designation in the build number says it's a developer edition. The only way to know if it's going to work on your phone is to try it out. Just make a nandroid first so if it doesn't work you can just restore your stock ROM.
It should work so long as your phone model is t6ul.

The RIL files within the ROM are for US bands, so from what you are describing it's possible this ROM simply will not work with your carrier.
Edit: Added as a known issue for now. It would be awesome if at least one more person on O2 or an O2 based MVNO would test and verify.
After half day running, the Rom is quite stable, smooth, thanks guy.

Unlocked just means you can put in another carriers SIM card. If your phone wasn't unlocked you would get a popup asking to enter a subsidy code.
The RIL is the radio interface layer. In simplest terms it acts as the go-between for the operating system and the actual cellular radio on the phone. If the ROM has a RIL file that is not compatible with the radio in your phone then cellular data will simply not work.
That is what the problem sounds like to me because restoring your nandoid (going back to stock) fixed the issue. I've tested this ROM on several handsets with several SIM cards and had reports via PM from several users that this ROM is working fine for them so the only thing I can think of an incompatibility between the RIL and cellular radio.
We're still in the infant stages of development for the HTC One Max so there's probably going to be several other pronounced differences between handsets depending on where they are sold.
One thing you could try is pulling these files from your stock ROM and pushing them to the custom ROM:
/system/lib/libhtc_rilhook.so
/system/lib/libril.so
/system/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so
/system/lib/libril-qcril-hook-oem.so
The easiest way to do this would be use adb pull on your computer while booted as stock, then replace those files in the ZIP for the custom ROM before transferring it to your phone to flash.
If you try this please post what happens!

How about Viper4Android instead. There are A LOT of extra options to customize the audio with that than with Beats (which is really just a equalizer preset). Plus it's still being actively developed and the developers don't mind integration with custom ROMs so long as proper credit is given for the work.

I'll see if I can put together a supplimental ZIP file tomorrow which adds Viper4Android and update a FAQ section with info on it as well some info on using ROM Cleaner v2.0 to get rid of the Sense elements that are unwanted. I personally get rid of most of it but I don't want to maintain a separate "slim" rom or start maintaining a fancy Aroma installation unless it's absolutely necessary.

Known Issues:
Sense6Toolbox, increase mms size will screw up our mod.
The Extended Quick Settings has a bug if you enable all of them to the pull down, So just leave one of the toggles hidden, like the mini+ tile and everything will be fine.
WIFI will probably be broken if you havn't updated the firmware. Flash one of the other kernels provided in the aroma installer.
Changelog:
.v2
Added 2 kernels that should give you working WiFi if you haven't taken the new 1.58 OTA update
Fixed the Calculator being deleted... Stock Calc and CM Calc were named the same.
Fixed missing write protection.sh to enable the module.
Initial release. Latest AT&T OTA 1.58.502.1

We've been having issues with TWRP. It will probably work, but aroma might be slow/laggy. That's why we suggest Philz

I made a stupid error and left a decompiled Settings folder in the system/app. It's not going to hurt anything just take up space.... delete it out of the zip or if you flashed already use a root file explorer and delete it. But I'm going to re upload it....
Why are the links all jacked up but great work.
Edit: On the computer I can see on the mobile app it looks crazy can't tell it's uploading apologizes.

try this kernel and let me know. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705074
I took the update to get the base so my updated hboot and radio could have an effect on wifi with the provided kernel.... because my wifi works.
just tried it and it seems to be working thank you very much

Ok, so flash new 1.58.502.1 & then flash the kernel from M8Rx_HTC-One_M8_1.12.502.18_4-23-14? FYI, TWRP has worked fine on your other previous.
.
Link is back up, Fixed the decompiled folder I left in the system... sorry about that. Also the write protection module... forgot the init.sh to enable it.
It's solid now.... If your having trouble with WIFI try using the kernel posted in the op under the downloads.
But I suggest everyone return to stock and take the update.

Yeah new link is in the OP along with the kernel if wifi's not working... pretty sure it won't with the Kernel provided in the ROM since you'll need to update the firmware

All custom roms write some partition of the bootloader safestrap, flashfire born to allow to install some features without touch that part... That's the reason you are able to flash some mods.. And xposed framework they don't touch that part... But customs rom like cyanogenmod and others they do it that's the reason of unlock bootloader it's something completely apart of root... But hey... They are lots of themes... Ports roms you can change layers... To say the truth kernel it's the only difference between unlock bootloader and root.... I'm begging for my note 4 at least get root

You can change kernel.. But only based on TouchWiz, that has same logic that's also the reason you can do ports of s6 and note 5 they use "similar kernel" but if you want pure android like a Motorola.... It's a completely different kernel... So no... You won't be able...

Yes you can almost take it... With themes of samsung... Like change the color of the toggles, with a nova launcher or others you can almost get pure android.. Experience... That's the reason I said almost like a pure android without custom rom.... But if you want cyanogenmod structure... The same toggles in the status bar and fast.. Response unfortunately until they unlock bootloader you can't experience that .. Hey not everything is bad... On note 4 for example we don't have in customs roms finger print reader... Or camera some people says cyanogenmod it ain't the same of the stock rom... Errors... In cyanogenmod also.... It's a matter of point of view

You can change color status bar... My bad I meant the buttons of toggles like wifi bluetooth that come with TouchWiz... If you see pure android and LG etc has different types of toggle buttons but you can change color of the status bar that's one of the most search feature with xposed
