I only just rooted my x10 mini pro, now want to install mini CM9, but dunno how to check the manufacturing date of the phone, and if the bootloader is already unlocked or not. Please help
Oh got the Manufacturing date, its "11w13". Can it's bootloader be unlocked?
11wk13 is ok, but you need a compatible sim-lock certificate too.
Get S1Tool and post the output of the Identify-button, that might tell us more

Cool attach your phone in flashtool and choose unlock bootloader from the plugins menu. Should work ok, but make sure to boot your phone first and check if you've still got network-connectivity
If you don't, relock the bootloader with S1Tool Restore-button, but I think you'll be ok.
If that's ok, you can flash whatever is appropriate for your phone
Good luck

There is a newer version of S1Tool somewhere that adds that functionality
Can't remember which link i got it from though
On the other side: see if busybox is installed now, when you connect your phone to flashtool it should give a version-number in the line: installed version of busybox, instad of N/A. I guess you managed to install the proper drivers for your phone?

Yeh, your bootloader is unlocked I guess you still have network-access too.
I'm not sure what to go for as far as ROMS for the x10mini-pro is concerned, because i don't have that phone, but the most popular roms will be on the first page of the development section. It just depends on how you want your phone to work and look.
As for MiniCM9: is still in early development, although the progress made is very impressive it leaves a few things that will not work properly, most notably video recording and playback and battery life could be improved too, so if you need your phone for normal every day use, I would try something more stable and proven. On the other hand, if you can live with those deficiencies, by all means, having ICS on your little phone is just way too cool. Happy Hunting

Umm, last question then. I cant post in most sections just yet...
I think I'll stick to MiniCM7 for now, will surely give MiniCM9 a shot sometime later on, after I get a bit used too to this phone. So anyways, on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415026
Code:
Download the MiniCM7-xxx.zip from the release link that follows
Backup your /data contents: contacts, apps, sms, etc. or backup via recovery
Move the MiniCM7-xxx.zip to the root folder of your sdcard. Download the suggested Google Apps for CM7 from here (check http://goo-inside.me/gapps/ if you want to experiment with other gapps versions)
Unlock your bootloader, if you haven't already. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1254225 for a nice tutorial
Flash the nAa kernel using Flashtool. To to this:
- Turn off your phone
- Start the Flashtool\X10FlashTool.exe and select Flash. Then select the U20_nAaxxx kernel firmware (this flashes both the kernel.sin and the loader.sin)
- Keep the back button pressed while connecting the usb cable. Flashtool should detect your phone and flash the kernel.
- Once done, disconnect the usb cable and power on the phone.
Once the logo appears, press the back button repeatedly to enter CWM.
- Select 'backup and restore -> Backup'
- Select 'wipe data/factory reset' (RECOMMENDED)
- Flash the MiniCM7-xxx.zip. To do this, Select 'install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard' and select the MiniCM7-xxx.zip
- Flash gapps
Reboot (first boot will take ~2 mins)
Once your device has booted, you can navigate to CM Settings -> System -> Update notifications and select 'Register'. This way you can get update notifications on new versions of MiniCM7!
So it directly jumps to flashing the kernel and then booting up with CWM. So I am assuming the kernel is somehow linked to CWM or the kernel will automatically install the CWM recovery as well?
All custom kernels have CWM built in so it will work irrespective of the ROM you are using.

After flashing the kernel, i was rather familiar with the steps. Everything worked out as expected Thanks for the help. Am on MiniCM7 now with nAa-11 kernel.
Hello, and sorry if i am posting in wrong place, but I've just get a new(for me it is) x10 mini pro, and i also want to unlock my bootloader.
Previously i had xperia x8 with 11w44 prod. date, and i was unable to unlock its bootloader.
With x10minipro, s1tool says SEMC-SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE, so i can unlock its bl, but when i removed my battery i just saw, that my x10minipro-s production date is 11w43, and now i am a little bit confused about bl unlocking it.
Can somebody tell me that this x10minipro is bootloader unlockable?

Dunno what that is, mine also says Date: 10W46 beside the speaker and under the battery 11W13.
Just disregard whatever it says beside the speaker. You were supposed to check under the battery only.

FIRST OF ALL,i would like to thank the_laser for providing us with the tools http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253277
I Noticed a lot of confusion here in the process of Unlocking BL -me was one of the confused- so please make sure to do/notice those points before/during unlocking procedure
THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR CAUTIONS. actual steps are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087
THANKS TO 9Lukas5
IF U DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE FLASHTOOL FOLLOW http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
FOR GUIDANCE about SIM lock and which patch to use refer to 9Lukas5's thread and replies.
BUT generally use "qsd8250_semc" if ur phone came
1.pre-unlocked
2.unlocked by code
and use "qsd8250_setool2" if u have unlocked it with "setool"
ANYWAY u can always use the other patch if ur signal is lost after using the first.-i have less knowledge about this issue as my phone came pre-unlocked and didn't try to unlock another one-.
FIRST OF ALL
1.USB Port not broken -can't do any upgrade or unlocking with a broken one-.
2.enabled "unknown sources" from settings/applications
3.enabled "USB debugging" from settings/applications/development. -should display "USB debugging connected" in notifications bar after USB connection IF NOT: pls flash another ROM and root it using aZUZU method as UNlocking won't work for u-.
AFTER FLASHING downgrade aZUZU kernel
4.MAKE sure ur FLASHTOOL -GB ready version- recognize the phone after SE logo displays on ur phone -FLASHTOOL should say "xperia x10 connected" then shows ur busybox version.
5. IF it doesn't recognized ur phone pls...UPDATE ur SE PC COMPANION.
6.if u don't like to update PC companion..USE THIS METHOD as 9Lukas5 describes
You don't need to update pccp or seus. Try the following:
1. open the drivers manager of your pc
2. connects phone in flashmode (without running any program like flashtool, seus or pccp)
3. check if there appears an unkown device, which wasn't there before (if not go on, if yes read under the line in this post further on)
4. no unknown device? Good
5. turn on phone and connect usb cable again and check again for unknown devices
__________________________________________________ ___________________________________
If there is an unknown device, download flashtool 0.3.0.0 (it contains the 2.3.3 adb and flash drivers)
1. In Flashmode is an unknown device: Go to flashtool 0.3.0.0 folder then to drivers and install the exe file you find there
2. After turning on there is an unknown device: extract the x10 drivers archive in the drivers subfolder of flashtool 0.3.0.0 and search manually in that folder for the drivers of the unkown device, then they should be installed.
3. Now check again like I described it above the line for unknown devices, if you can't see them now, try again to unlock your bl.
Click to collapse
7.be sure u have disabled all antivirus services and turn off ur firewall
8.close flashtool before starting to unlock BL
9.kill all processes named adb.exe by ur task manager "ctrl+alt+delete/start task manager/processes/sort by name/then kill adb.exe"
DURING UNLOCKING PROCEDURE
10.IF messages like "killing adb server..error" appears. pls make sure again u did points 6+7+8.
11.U HAVE TO WAIT A while and phone reboots in the process
DURING FLASHING Doom kernel v4.0 or stock
12. if messages like start flashing then abort flashing -with GB ready FLASHTOOL- or sending loader then along wait after flashing kernel .sin-with older FLASHTOOL - then u haven't probably unlocked ur BL . SO PLS don't bother ur self trying to re flash the kernel and check if ur bootloader is still locked
DID U follow steps+cautions?!!
13.to CHECK the status of ur bootloader pls download s1tool from
press "DO job" then connect ur phone in flash mode -green LED light-.
14. IF ur phone is UNLOCKED then status should be like this:
Welcome to S1 identify tool

PLEASE ATTACH TURNED OFF PHONE NOW
RUNNING S1_EROM VER "r8A033"
NOTICE THE LOWER CASE letter "r" in "RUNNING S1_EROM VER "r8A033""
14.IF it isn't unlocked u would see UPPER CASE "R" like "R8A033" then try again with more caution then refer back to the thread
AFTER COMPLETEING THE PROCEDURE
15.of course u will see "XPERIA" Logo instead of "SONY ERICSSON" what Doomkernel u chose -v04b or v04-FS-.
16. 'SE' logo stll appears in cases:
1.u still on ur old kernel.
Or
2.u flashed Doom's stock kernel for unlocked bl.
Hi, very good for scared ones to have that thread. One suggestion, I added it to my how-to just now, but it's not needed to update pccp or seus, you only need the 2.3.3 adb/flash drivers. I have uploaded a file which only contains the drivers and explained in the third post of my how-to how to check if a driver update is needed and how to make it. Much easier as use the crappy se programs^^

L

MY experience in SIMunlock isn't so much but i added some hints to the thread if there is some evident additions pls post them....
there's a member who used "qsd8250_setool2" for locked sim and had no signal then used "qsd8250_semc' and it worked and restored his signal back
about what S1TOOL SAYS:
Mine displayed: SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE
and i could unlock it
Some others display:NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE
can't assure that they can't unlock bl... I say try to unlock ur SIM first
And...As i said previously, there r member who unlocked his bl with locked SIM

Me too!!
I actually got cought in the confusion of "SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE"; I thought that it meant that my phone was unlocked using setool2 (because my phone was already unlocked when I bought it, and I don't know how it was unlocked). Anyways with "qsd8250_setool2" I lost the signal and with "qsd8250_semc" I was able to restore it, but only thanks to that post that you mention, because otherwise I would have panic and would't be able to do anything else

If you haven't flashed any custom kernel for unlocked bl yet, your bl is unlocked, but the se kernel is still used --> se logo appears. If you want to disappear the se logo, flash custom kernel for unlocked bl.

Ahh.. Forgot to mention that I did flashed the DoomLord's custom kernel for bootloader unlocked.. But the situation remain unchanged I was just curious if my BL is unlocked properly
try reflashing the kernel and have an eye on it it gives you any security error, if yes, your bl isn't unlocked. Or test with the s1 tool from the laser, if you can't see a lower case letter, bl isn't unlocked yet.

I already searched several threads regarding USB Debugging problems but nothing worked with my device.
Had installed these drivers theyve Linked, I only Repaired the Driver Problems
but the problem is still present during Flashmode, it states that My USB Debugging is OFF but Debugging Mode is already Enabled.
Device: WT19i
Locked Bootloader
Stock ROM .58 Firmware Gingerbread
I wanted to Upgrade to .62 Firmware Stockrom and then Unlock the Bootloader
Other Issue: Can't Upgrade to Firmware OTA.

You have to enable both Debugging Mode and Unknown Source.
If you have unlocked bootloader, upgrading via OTA is not possible.

I want to Install Custom Rom, Hybrom, Because Feedback says that, Flashing
to Hybrom with stockrom .58 will have problems in during Boot Up. It will stack up on the SE Logo.
Man if you want to flash a custom rom you just have to unlock your bootloader you don't need to change your firmware or root first.
Does wotan server free of charge for flashing? it says i have invalid account even though I registered.

i would disagree on that,
my friend has .58fw and unlocked his phone thru official method,
flashed bbooff kernel and installed hyborm v16 without any issues,
just make sure to wipe data, cache partition and dalvik..

Once again, it does not matter what ROM you have in first place(.58 or .62, MIUI, CM....does NOT matter).
You must install custom kernel ALSO, else phone will not boot.
Cleaning cache, dalvik cache and factory reset must also be done if installing new ROM.
1 More question sir, If I flashed a ROM to a Locked Network Unit, will it be openline after Flashing?

Custom ROMs require also custom kernel.
Custom kernel requires unlocked bootloader.
Unlocked bootloader requires Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes, which on some network locked phones is not like this.
I have flashed my neo MT15_4.1.B.0.431_Global.ftf file.

that guy messed up using wotans unlock tool.
This sounds like a similar problem, but I have seen few people so far messed up their phones only by flashing clean ftf.
In latest(or at least in few latest version) flashtool version you can see
WARN - This file is ignored : simlock.ta
Click to collapse
not sure if that file was flashed before or not, but it sure didn't give you warning.
One guy bricked his Xperia S messing with .ta file, and that's why falshtool guys made this ignore, which is why I think in before version it was flashed.
.62 and .562 have same simlock.ta file, while the one from .431 differs. hm, but then again .42 also have different file. *
Maybe I'm talking sh*t but I bet my ass that those who have this problem used older version of flashtool.
Also those people who got this problem also get changed root status in service menu, those who had yes, now they have no.
EDIT: here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26761620&postcount=140 I see OP used 0.8 flashtool, so my theory doesn't flow don't know what could be wrong here..
EDIT2: looks that I can only find users with Neo which have this problem
EDIT3:* hm ok, .62 and .562 are for same region, while .431 and .42 are for different regions. Lol, with each edit, I'm loosing my theory but interesting to research

During all of the processes, I never used test point. Software (S1tool, FOTA unbrick flasher etc) never wanted me to use test point.I only pressed back and connected USB.
Can you explain in which step I should use Test Point?
What I did:
-I was on Gingerbread.
-My bootloader was unlocked
-Pc system settings were TURKISH
-I flashed the phone using flashtool.I flashed "MT15i_4.1.B.0.431.ftf" file.
-In flashing screen, there was only simlock.ta
(I was beginner on flashing, ı didn't know that ı should change pc language to English)
-I flashed the phone.
-Phone booted with my old Gingerbread(Not ICS)
-I found that my phone says "NO SIM-EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY"
-I ve tried so many Sım Cards(All of them have same problem)
(I am sure phone has no Hardware problem.I dedects sim but something blocks it)
-I made restore using S1tool
-I flashed generic GB
-I made official ICS update via SUS
But no solution. My phone has the same error.
And also bootloader unlock allowed: NO
PS:When I try to flash all of the ftf files, during flashing process, I see:
warn the file is ignored simlock.ta
It flashes all of the other components. But doesn't simlock.ta files.
I hope you will help me.Because I need my phone...

What is the difference between;
*repair S1boot
*unlock bootloader
Repair puts back to how it was.
Unlock unlocks, but doesn't touch sim lock, therefore restoring should remove any changes you've made.
For sim lock you need omnius or setool and Card so it's s paid service.
Can I ask how did you unlock in the first place, as only a few have been locked by flashing 404, trying to find a link

I dialed *#*#7378423#*#*
Then ı saw. "bootlader unlock allowed: YES "
Then ı unlocked it via official method http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
After that, it was unlocked.I was able to enter fastboot, install kernels etc...
But now my problem is, ı have so many options.Iwill buy credit from omnius, thats OK.
* Should I unlock bootlader?
* Should I unlock SIM?
* Should I repair S1 boot?
My phone always says no-sım
And bootloader unlock allowed "no"
Many people are saying that, ıf you unlock bootloader, you will unlock sim lock too.

The program is called Flashtool by Androxyde & Bin4ry, heres the link: androxyde.github.io
NOTE: If your bootloader is unlocked do not accept any Over-The-Air updates or through PC Companion/Bridge, that's why you got the error

Thanx for the reply, i went to the site mentioned and i see 10 links with diffrent software (i gues) and the link to the flash tool is death
If i try it with pc compannion it downloads the software, then it says shut your phone down.
then hold volume down and reconnect the usb.
I did that but then PCC says i have the wrong software on it and it can't be updated.
@bawss
Flashtool has new site http://www.flashtool.net
If PC Companion already download the files you can build the FTF file and flash with flashtool.
http://mytechencounters.wordpress.c...eate-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/
I have installed flashtools now and have located the files downloaded by PCC
im useing the tutoral, and i am at step 6 but i cant click on advanced.
There is a SEUS decrypt option at tools but that wont let me select the files.
Is it right?
Hi,
I have tryd it with:
tools -> bundle creation -> browse location of files from PCC
Device: Xperia U
Branding : None
Version : version PCC says is available.
Is it the same as selecting the 3 files?
it has made a file called:
Xperia U_6.1.1.B.1.54_None.ttf
And if its right how can i flash it to the phone?
Click SEUS Decript, then the 3 dots right to source folder and navigate to the blob_fs folder select it and ok.

Yes it's a bit different with new flashtool but the result is just the same flashable FTF dilr.
Just click the flash icon in flashtool.and flash this file in flash mode.
EDIT: Exclude TA if it's in the file, just to be safe.
is it supposed to be done in 1 seconds.
I shut down the phone and connect it while holding volume down it says:

LOL I immediately disable chrome on my phone.
Which is it ICS or JB? You may be lower on ram now so it's good idea to uninstall apps you don't use and disable services/apps you don't need

Hello,
I'm attempting to unlock the bootloader on a Xperia Mini Pro U20i using a program called Flashtool. When i connect the device to the computer in Flashmode, it tells me that the device is connected, but then it disconnects several seconds later saying that USB debugging is off. USB debugging is enabled on the phone. I don't understand what i am doing wrong. All the correct drivers are installed. Please, can somebody help me.

Here you go
But if you have luck there's no need to create a new thread on that topic because a moderator could move this thread to the other forum. You are able to request that by clicking on the orange triangle in the upper right corner of your post and write a short message to the mod and ask him to move the thread. I'll do that for you now, but you know it for the next time then
Btw for your problem check this. Are you sure you disabled your antivirus program and you did the factory reset?

Thanks chaps!
Do i actually need to unlock the bootloader or can i just go ahead and root the phone? If i could it would make things much, much easier. On my Nexus 7 you had to unlock the bootloader first, but i just wondered whether things would be any different on this device?

No need to unlock the bootloader in order to root the device.. Just press the 'root' button in flashtool and follow the instructions. You only need to unlock the bootloader to flash custom kernels on this phone.

Okay, so basically i need to root in order to install a custom ROM then? (Because custom ROMS change the kernel). Then reason i want root access is because the old Android Market on 2.1 doesn't seem to work anymore, so by installing the Android 4.3 ROM i can use the new Google Play store instead. At the moment i cannot download any apps on the phone whatsoever. Google Play is not compatible with Android 2.1 so i guess a ROM upgrade is the only option i have?

Not sure if the market app is completely dead for 2.1, it's been a while since i used it. On this device though, the kernel is never included in the ROM. You can either choose a ROM that runs on stock kernel, in which case you don't need to unlock the bootloader, or choose one that needs a custom kernel (for 2.3 android that would be nAa-14), in which case you do need the bootloader unlociked. You will need to root your phone in both cases though.
It sounds complicated maybe more so than on other phones, but it's the way it is, and once you're used to it, it's not such a hassle.
