i bricked my 4.0 flashing a rom so i tried to unbrick it and ended up flashing a intl instead of us and im stuck on recovery screen and cant do nothing.i will go to bestbuy and return it today since i have extended warranty. i will let you guys know how it goes when i get back.

I succesfully returned mine. When you walk in i dont know if its just in the best buy i went to but theres someone in the entrance that puts a tag on the box of whatever you are going to return/exchange. They told me to go to the cell phones area but i went to customer service instead. In my best buy theres a geek squad side and the best buy side(people in blue) i went to best buy side instead of the geek squad (i thought they might know something about rooting). i just told the guy that i wanted to return it he just asked why are you returning this product. So i just told him that i left it charging overnight and it goes to this screen when i turn it on. He just said ok and took it you can either get another from their shelfs or get a gift card. I got a gift card since the 4.0 and 5.0 are on sale online 4.0 is $150 and 5.0 is about $200. IM not sure what to do with the gift card yet im thinking about saving a bit more to get an htc evo v 4g from virgin mobile or just buy the 4.0 again but im not sure. Just try not to mention rooting or what the screen is on.

i think ill just get a 4.0 again since i dont have much use for a phone right now i think ill just stay like i was the 4.0 for games music and internet and ill keep my htc wildfire s for calls and texts since i just pay $25 a month.

so... i work for tmobile at an authorized dealer. n the other day i buy a samsung vibrant from some guy for $40. the thing is... i guess be found the phone or something bc it had wavesecure n is locked. so i bought a paperweight.. is there any wayto remove wavesecure n be able to use this amazing phone..? will rooting help..?

I don't know if this guy is legit or not but I hate to see guys like this helped. The phone is more than likely stolen & could be yours or mine w/ personal & or business texts, emails, & pictures. Maybe it isn't stolen but I doubt an "Authorized Dealer" would (a.) buy a 1 week old phone for $40 (b.) Buy it before checking to see if it worked (c.)Would have no other escalation option other than XDA.
If I'm wrong fugg him and he should search a little, then ask for help. If I'm right well just plain old fugg him maybe he can steal the directions with the phone next time.

Ugh... it's not hard to get around but dude, you probably bought a stolen phone. Why not call TMO and give them IMEI and let them help you track down the rightful owner? If you are indeed a TMO authorized reseller they shouldn't have a problem helping you do that. Call it your good deed for the day.
The only good to come from this thread is me realizing that I don't have a blackberry anymore and so need something like wavesecure, which apparently works in case some dumb piece of !&$# steals my phone. Hopefully no smart piece of !&$# ever steals it lol.

Two questions following a boring explanation:
My Eris fell from a moving vehicle. The end call button was stuck sideways. I tried to fix it, but the button popped out. That is all that I can find wrong with it. I set it so volume down and send will wake the phone, so it is usable. However, I am switching service back over to my Droid A885 or whatever it is. The original Droid by Motorola through Verizon.
1. Do any developers here have need of an Eris for testing? I am sure you could rig the end button, but I am not mechanically inclined.
2. Can anyone that has used the Motorola Droid from Verizon suggest a good stable ROM to ease my transition?

I was thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of shipping costs via paypal once it is shipped. Recipient chooses... insurance, delivery confirmation etc.
How sad, I can't even give it away! It works great, it is just missing the power button. Turns on fine with a piece of aluminum... Anyway, it has Shed's latest GB on it. Wiped and ready for the next person to play around with it...

How would I pay for this if I don't have paypal. I'm a dev on here, I have 2 ROMS out and just recently dropped my phone in the ocean so I really would like to have another Eris but I can't have a paypal account.

I think i'm going to have to stick to craigslist. I'm in the Army and as some know, you cannot go very long without some type of contact method or you can get in serious trouble. It was a good idea at the time because it's a really good deal. However, buying a phone from someone on the "mainland" means waiting a while for shipping which is something I don't have enough rank for lol. So sorry if I seem like an a$$ but I think i'm going to just get something on craigslist that way I can get it locally on the island and have it almost instantly. Well, as luck would have it, I saw a tweet today about being able to go see the transformer prime at select Gamestop locations. There were two in Colorado that were supposed to have them to demo.
I called one of them in Denver, they said they had a display unit and a unit to sale. Well, hop in the car, and now I have an Amethyst Grey 32GB sitting next to me, completely sealed.
I wanted the 64GB version, and I think I will hold for that from Amazon. I'll probably just sell this one on craigslist.
I know I'm very lucky. The first time I've ever had anything like this happen to me.

Stuck it on Craigslist. Some of the people on IRC are saying I should take a dump of the rom before I sell it. However, if I open, I can't return it. Decisions, decisions.
Just called a gamestop about 75 miles away from me & they have the 32gb champagne gold one (purple) but i'm thinking i won't ever hardly ever be looking at the back of the thing anyway lol.My Xoom stays in a gel cover or either the folio at all times..so color really shouldnt be a big deal.

Lucky Mofo. If you don't plan on keeping it, smartest move now would be to put it on eBay. I'm sure you could easily get $800 or more for it. Since it's so rare and not even officially out yet. You should contribute by dumping the rom to developers so we could have a nice headstart on developing. The sooner the better and faster we get custom roms, CWM recovery, n over clocking.
Do a system dump dude listen to them then sell it on ebay I'm sure even opened you could still get Atleast 600! Just leave the clear plastic stickers on

Aftermseeing this thread I called around to local gamestops to see if they had it. They said only the big store ones around here would have it. I found one and they said none in stock yet but they will have it on the 19th. Only thing is he said they only taking pre orders on it so once they come in, they pretty much all will be accounted for. Especially since demand is so high. He said everybody been calling like crazy and going bananas looking for that tablet. I was like I know, it's the first quad core android tablet..LMFAO

I had my phone for a lil over a month . its was in perfect condition i had it in a case with a screen protector since i day i got it. then i lost it . i will admit i was a lil drunk when i lost it and for the life of me couldnt find it. So I reported it lost and my insurance replaced it. Well last night my girlfriend comes over and tell me look what i found in back of the couch. So now I have 2 Notes . I want to know it the Note I lost is still good will it work? can i sell it and not get introuble. I know what the right thing to do is. I just want to know if there are any other options.
Unlock the IME# and see if it'll take a different SIM card. If so, then just sell it as an unlocked note. Should bring you decent cash.
On second thought... don't. Um... it's rubbish, just mail it to me. I'll um... take... care... of it.

you have seen the articles about the carriers getting together to track, lost, and stolen phones, right? The IME number is like a fingerprint. You use that one, or sell it, and they will find out, and probably find you. Be smart, and tell your insurance, or be stupid, and get nailed for fraud.
Sell it for a quick 500 have the phones lost or stolen will take any aim card trust. I i have connected phones I found with no problem just called at& the and told them I purchased on ebay and they got it going

That's paranoid. If they do find it, all they can do is track it to the person using it. Just sell it on craigslist at a random public meeting place and don't tell the buyer any personal info.

Unlocked means you can use any sim card. AT&T does not block the IMEI# for whatever reason. I was reading a article about [email protected] being investigated for activating phone that have been reported stolen. I have had phones that i bought for really cheap from people who where kinda shady and im sure they where stolen and t-mobile & AT&T hooked them up with no questions asked.
