yup! here is text from the Verge
"Google is taking a big new step in bringing all of its content arms under one roof — and that new entity is called Google Play. Starting today, Google will begin a rebranding of the Android Market, Google Music, Google Books, and its video offerings. Until now, all of those content hubs had more or less resided under the banner of the Android Market, and it seems like the company is interested in making users understand those disparate pockets of content as a unified whole. A company spokesman called Play "an evolution of Android Market."
Google Play (called the Google Play Store in some instances) will become the single destination for all of the company's buyable content. Accordingly, the standard Android books, music, and video apps will become Google Play Books, Google Play Music, and Google Play Movies. But it's not just about devices. Google Play is meant to bring together the company's content offerings in both mobile and browser experiences.
Android devices running version 2.2 or later will have their Market app automatically updated "over the coming days," while the Google Play Store moniker will make its way into the Google sandbar, much like the Google+ service. The Android Market name will be retired, though you won't miss it much since the Google Play Store looks nearly identical."

I don't care for the name at all...but oh well...what can ya do?

Apps for 49 cents!
I can't look at the apps again cause of work, but it was posted in another thread on XDA.
Almost positive the APK is out there somewhere, now to find it...
Not that I like it too much but I want to see the difference. (Backed up Market 3.4.4)
It also shows 25 cent app of the day - Where's my water
I don't see how renaming "Market" as "Play" will suddenly cause people to start buying their music and books from Google!

It's a rebranding. Currently people associate the Market strictly with their Android devices. With Play, it now becomes a full media enhancement. It's what iTunes recently did with the cloud, only google decided to market this differently.
i read on The Verge that as of today it will be updating devices 2.2+ to Google Play.
ive been looking EVERYWHERE for the apk. it will pop up in time
Nice! Thanks for the link, got cosmos, shadowfinger and world of goo!

Here is a link to the new apk for the google music play at least. I don't see anything different in it though.
looks like the Google Music app has been renamed already, "Google Play Music".

Sounds like a "Google, Play Music"
When I read it, seems like I am talking to it...
Market just auto updated to google play on my galaxy nexus.
Google Play is just a Rebranding of Android Market
I got 3 app updates (Music, Books, & Movies) on my AT&T Galaxy S II today. Check out this page that talks about how "Google Play" is just a rebranding of the Android Market, yet has so many possibilities for what will come next... http://www.orangeandjuicy.com/google-play-is-the-rebranded-android-market/
Could've come up with a better name, but whatever. The android market website already defaults to the new rebrand; no auto updates on my device yet.
Can't wait for Gmail Play, Maps Play, Google Voice Play, Gtalk Play, Goole Search Play, and Google + Play to drop! Gonna be epic.....
Ugh, Google Music got updated .... and the new icon is hideous.

just released today, get it here! link below...
What's New
The most notable and immediately apparent new feature is the long overdue ability to remove apps you've previously downloaded from the All Apps list. If you like to try a lot of apps, that list is likely very cluttered. With the new Google Play, you can trim it to your heart's content.
Update #1: You can multi-select by long-pressing any app in the list and then tapping more apps, then delete them all in one go (added 2 new screenshots demonstrating it).
Update #2: The new Play Store now keeps track of your location in lists, including My Apps and All Apps, so when you click into an app and back, it drops you into the same spot. I had variable luck with this, and it didn't seem to work in All Apps at first, but I just reproduced it on both the EVO LTE and the Nexus 7. Brilliant.
Update #3: The notification icon that shows up when you have app updates has changed, and notifications are now expandable. I've added more screenshots showing the differences.

The Play Store Is Getting A Built-In Malware Scanner, Wish List Progress, And More
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...nner-theres-more-wish-list-progress-and-more/
"Apparently, there are two parts to this. There is something called "App Check" that will allow Google to inspect every app you've already downloaded, and a doorman-style app blocker that will warn you if an app is suspicious. It also sounds like they will have a "shut up and download it" button, for people that like to live on the edge."

You can easily disable all of the "T-Mobile" apps: T-Mobile My Account, T-Mobile Name ID, T-Mobile TV
I've also disabled TalkBack, Rescue, Polaris Office, News & Weather, Lookout Security,Kid Mode, Hangouts, Google Play Music, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Magazines.
As far as the HTC applications, I haven't began to disable any of them yet...
Thanks for your post, I was able to disable some more apps

I don't see, "or uninstalled" anywhere here.
So whats wrong with Google Music?
Do semantics really matter? And does it really matter whether or not I said it in my original post or if I clarified in my next post that it was either disabled OR "uninstalled"? The point is these apps that I mentioned are no longer present blaring in my face whenever I access my phone.
What's wrong with Google Music? Nothing -- if you want to use it. Me, personally? Google Music is a subscription-based service and it is something that, to me, is not worth it's value monthly.

Alright, so I got my 2014 edition yesterday and I've been playing around with it and i've come across this... I know from reading online that MyMagazine is a joint program that was between Samsung and Flipboard or something along those lines.
I haven't played with MyMagazine that much yet but just a quick glance at it, it seems fine but I think I prefer to use Flipboard... especially since I have my Flipboard account feeding news that I want to read about. But it seems that when I open up the Google Play store and search Flipboard, it says that the app is already installed and I'm able to open it via Google Play and I was able to sign into my account no problem. Why is it that I can't find the app icon anywhere though? There's gotta be an easier way to access the app than contantly going to the Play store to open the app.
Anyone able to figure that out yet? Thanks! :good:

Yeah, not sure what Sammy was thinking but the app itself is listed under Galaxy Plus in the app drawer. Took me a bit to find stuff as well.

Hi, I just received my Truesmart + today, and I tried to install the google playstore and while I was able to get the APK into the watch, after it installs the playstore it fails to open.
So basically whenever I press the playstore button it'd open for half a second and the whole program just vanishes like if it got reverted back to the homescreen..... Ive also downloaded several different version of playstore and havent had any luck either...
I was wondering if you guys know if its possible to even install the google play store and get it to run on this model??
The specs of my watch are:
Android Version: 5.1
Baseband version: MOLY.WR8.W1449.MD.WG.MPV5, 2015/08/24 16:00
Kernel Version: 3.10.72
Build Number: Omate_Truesmart+_V1.1
Custom Build Version: OUI 3.0
Please help me out, I dont want to end up with a brick =(
I am curious about this too (was supposed to get mine today but the mailman messed up) Did they not include the OStore or some sort of other app program? Are any apps preloaded?
You'll also notice that you can't add a Google account within Settings-> Accounts.
The only way around that so I'm actually able to add a Google account is by sideloading "Google Services Framework" & "Google Account Manager" (in addition to "Play Services").
However, even with these installed, Play Store still doesn't work - it launches but won't connect.
Hopefully a solution is found.
Until then, I'm fine with using my LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE.
Pre-installed Apps are pretty sparse:
> Phone
> SMS
> Exchange
> File Manager
> Browser
> Calendar
> Clock
> Gallery
> Downloads
> Contacts
> Search

*UPDATE*
I've reached out to Laurent LePen (CEO of Omate) & told him the usual method of making the Play Store work (by sideloading the 3 Apps I mentioned) doesn't work on the Omate TrueSmart+. He said they're rolling out an update next week to fix that.
So hopefully, next week it'll work.
*fingers crossed*
Wow, releasing a watch without its own OStore supported seems like a big mistake. Their Facebook discussion also seems to suggest that they'll be pushing an update by the end of the year, so hopefully that holds true.
I was able to install Google search and google now launcher, but google play store won't work without "google play services" and I haven't found a version of that .apk that will not keep crashing on the Truesmart+
Since google play services keeps crashing, the play store stays on a "Checking Info" screen that keeps spinning and spinning...
Same issue here, obviously...
com.google.android.gms_8.4.89_(2428711-234)-8489234_minAPI21(armeabi-v7a)(240dpi).apk should be the correct version of Play Services, but it still crashes on me...
Does anyone have any newer versions of the Services Framework and Account Manager APK's?
Anyone, any updates?
Edit: There will be a firmware update this weekend which will pus the OStore... No Play STore, but at least it's something for now...
I just unboxed my truesmart+ today.
I think it is not useful without google service inside.
I can't sync my contact nor get my paid apps on it, it is really a bit disappointing.

Everything appears to be working great
Just curious, if Aptoide does the same thing as the Play Store, did we really need the Play Store? I'm away from my device so I can't test it, but it seems Aptoide has many of the same mainstream apps as the Play Store (Maps, YouTube, etc)
Could someone please answer my question re: Aptoide? Is this a viable alternative? (from a technical perspective, please no need to go into politics) Thanks.

Aptoide will work for free apps, if you install "My Paid Apps" from Aptoide you may also be able to install some of your paid apps as well. Aptoide's biggest drawbacks are much smaller number of apps, less security, sometimes apps do not get updated as often, not all paid apps will be accessible.
Another option is Amazon App Store.

Aptoide is a viable alternative to Google Play, but only if you are very careful and very skilled at being able to recognize and avoid trojanized versions of apps. The majority of people hosting apps there are well intentioned, I guess, but there are also a large number of maliciously modified apps to be found there, and cracked premium pay apps are included.
Using Aptoide over the Play Store, then, is not a good idea unless you are very skilled or have other means of avoiding Android malware mixed in with the many legitimate apps available there. If you get apps there that are really hosted there by their real original developers, for example, you can feel pretty secure.

Thank you both for your replies! Referencing your statement above, if I download only the apps marked with a green shield marked "trusted" should I be ok? (Do I trust the trust mark?) I'm only looking for Maps, YouTube, SWApp, Gmail, Amazon Music, Pandora.

You can download the .apk files from the play store by using this website: http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/.
This procedure should be safe and maleware free.
