Just seems a waste of devs time, an app that reads how many times you press everything and how many times you open each app would be better, like an all in one usage stats, I would be horrified with the amount of installs, uninstalls and how many games I've opened in a month lol

You never need power button except power on/off.

Hi all
Thanks to non4,brajesh,sonrics on being hard with my request & spl thanks to crakeron, ela for ur comments...
Infact my view is same as like using a battery info app which shows a number of how much it got charged.. And I thought power button counter stats indirectly reflects our phone usage on daily basis...
Thanks u all

You are kinda right, but for accurate usage we need to read how long screen is on too, like I said an app with more features but including that one would be good, I admit I was hard and for that on sorry

[Q] Change Power Button behaviour on call in CM7?

Hey guys!
In CM7, when I hit the Ace's power button, it ends the call. I don't want this, I want the good old turn-off screen, like on stock roms. I searched everywhere and I didn't found any option to change this.
Can someone point me what can I do?
Thanks!
Setting/call setting and tick on always use proximity

I don't think the setting for the power button is in Accessibility on CM, try looking around the CM menu, I think that's where it is.

No, I don't have eyes.
There are a few different variations of CM, and the one I used to have (I think it's the one by vo-1) had that setting in the CM menu.
Even LeWa has it

cm7 power button ends call in galaxy ace
I switched over to cm7 on my galaxy ace a week ago. Its very frustrating that the power button ends the call, i always disabled the proximity sensor in stock firmware and kinda used to that.
everytime i try to turn the screen off in a call, it actually ends the call. There is no option in accessibility settings to prevent power button from ending the call (screenshots attached)
I also downloaded an app phone settings manager and that too has no effect.
please help!
Same as here. Using CM7 from vo-1. I think that I'll switch to the one provided by FAT. Can someone confirm if it has that option in Accessibility?
This is what I have. Apart being in portugese, of course.
you can download "Screen Off and Lock" from the Play Store.
this is what I did.
so when someone calls. press the home button to go to your home screen then click the shortcut you have or if not go to your app drawer and press it to turn off your screen.
I'm using go launcher so I set the application to be activated when I glide down my finger in my home screen.

I've used Grif's CM7 and in that ROM, POWER BUTTON ENDS CALL option was in Accessibility only
I don't think that I'll need this anymore. Yesterday I was using the phone when I needed to hang-up the call, and it was right in front of me, so I didn't needed to power-on screen, unlock it and then hang-up. I just hit the power-button and done!
Also, I think that I can live with the screen-delay to power-off.

Can anyone tell me if theres an app to increase the intensity of vibration if we get a message on whatsapp? I have to keep my phone on vibration in class and always miss out on the messages as the vibration intensity is too low.
I figured how to change it for gmail and sms through an app but how can i change it for other apps like whatsapp?

[Q] im looking for shortcut for physical power button

Im looking for a shorcut that will mimic or work the same as the physical power button.
PURPOSE:
1. to save the physical button.
2. to make my phone go into DEEP SLEEP since all apps like screen off dont make my phone go into deep sleep and drain my battery.
3. to make it as a gesture or something like that

+1 and saving power/home button is normal practice on iphone because it's to expensive also difficult to get it replaced.
But for samsung phones, I am not sure if it would be that difficult or expensive.
Thanks for the reply guys, but i found a way, i remap the power button into the soft key

This thread is dedicated to tips and tricks in the new Jelly Bean 4.1 update! This is meant for everybody to give a few out... This is mine(since its different from ICS)
Hold down the Volume down and power down button for 2 seconds for a screenshot.
Another one we all know is, tap on the android version a bunch of times for a Jelly Bean to pop up...
Pinch out home screen and icons dissapear.

Dude, that JellyBean easter egg... BEST EVER! hahaha
Swapping internal with external (root required)
Thanks to Mateo1111 post, this is his script for swapping external and internal, The script works good, but it needs a little touch up, it make an infinite (at least for me it did) swap of external and internal, you will see what i mean if you try it.
Mateo's post is the third on that page,
p.s. go thank him
Download any tether widget/app and when you turn it on it will turn on the stock tether app and you can use all of the stock features without having the tethering plan.

Go thank kevev, for this awesome work
Not sure if it was like this before, but you can pinch zoom to resize the font in the messaging app.

I wonder what would happen if you managed to flick them all off the screen...
I think I tried that and more appeared. either that or nothing happens. either way, great time waster.

Anyone figure out if it's possible to replace Q-Slide apps with those that we want? I know there's a mod for hiding Q-Slide all together, but can't find anything about replacing apps :fingers-crossed:
Hello Friends,
Here is a hidden feature of our L9:
When camera or camcorder is on, then pressing vol up or down buttons it captures snap or start/stop capturing video.
One more additional feature I found was, while taking a picture with cam, if you keep pressing vol up or down buttons for long time, it will take continues shots until you keep pressing button
I think no buddy knows that before, even i also known that before today:victory::victory:

Home button LED on a little brother of our L9

Hey guys, I just saw today on a friend who got an LG phone which is L5 and when he receives sms or get a missed call his button is blinking in many different colours. Also, when he reboot the phone that LED is entertaining the holder which is pretty nice . My question is if we got something like this ? If yes with what app and if no which was the reason of breaking this feature off on a better phone than this one ? I left a link below to understand better what I mean.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaX50eMrQ1k&feature=youtu.be
LE: I found that is the 2nd generation and they got button LED allerts. Perhaps is auto solved.
Wait, the l5 2 has button LED notifications and the l9 doesn't? That sucks, it looks so neat. Its a shame about its 512 mb of ram though.
well read the later edit. the l9 2 will have too that home button led notification.

L9 II dont have a physical home button , so maybe it will be at some other location i Guess ( If at all its there )
It really sucks that LG is getting rid of the physical home button on their newer devices. I find it very useful, there's no accidental home button presses and you can use it to wake up your phone. Not to mention if they put the notification LED there it would look sweet.
I find that using the LG Nofications app works well enough, you can use the backlights of the soft keys as notification lights, they light up and slowly flash when you receive a message, gmail or miss a call. You can also use those key lights for charge status and there is an option to enable other apps to use the lights too e.g. Facebook

Yeah, I tested it too but that home button LED is much much prettier and u must admit that and is very different when u use an app which wake up ur phone every "x" seconds for the notification alert and when that LED is hardware based on.
installed lg touch led but no led for home button...
Guys, our phone does not have a notification led on the home button. No app or rom will make the home button light up like that because we do not have the hardware for it.

accidental screenshots

Hi team,
Do y'all know if there's a way to disable using Power+vol down for screenshot? My gallery is filled with accidental screenshots because of this shortcut, and the knock knock one works perfectly well.
Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. Doesn't look like it though. Also can't map Power button with it.
I have eleventy trillion accidental screenshots and they are from touching my screen in some way.
I actually asked Huawei support about this as I used to take a bunch of accidental screenshots at first. They confirmed this can't be disabled right now.
That said, I've had the device for a few weeks now and only take accidental screenshots 1-2 times a week now instead of like 5 times a day.
Hopefully they add the option in a future FW update.
and there was me thinking this was a default Android rather than Huawei specific keyboard combo ;o)
Any solution guys....?
May I know why are you guys using that combination in the first place if you don't want to take a screenshot?
