Any possibility to change the refresh time of the battery? It's annoying to me how it only refreshes 5% of a time.

Nope, that's the way Samsung made it. Even with modding the framework I haven't gotten 1%. It probably is in hardware like that - so permanently unchangeable.

i use an app called battery widget solo i think its called its a small circular widget that tells you the percent of your battery by 1s
What about one that displays in the notification bar that works like Battery Solo Widget?
from what i've read elsewhere on this site, Samsung didn't include a dedicated power monitoring doohicky with the Players. so, the software derives the battery info from voltage readings, which is apparently "primitive". i'm guessing that it only refreshes every 5%; it doesn't seem to be wildly accurate.
basically, the problem seems to be at the level of hardware.

Seems very primitive indeed.

Any customer rom can solve battery problem caused by OS? The problem can been seen from the pictures attached(the brightness is at lowest level and Os use cpu for 1h14m), it seems that still do not have a clear solution for this problem. So could I through flashing a customer rom to solve the os problem?
BTW, I am using ke7 now.

try updaring to the newest firmware or set your display brightness low.
mine is at 27% but the battery holds long for me (6h music, web browsing, facebook 24/7, and 10 mimutes playing asphalt 5 HD) if thats your problem...
btw... i'm on lite'ning rom

The "Android System" usage can be reduced by using Titanium Backup and Freezing stock Samsung apps that you don't use / need (ie. Social Hub, una service for Samsung apps, etc).
The Android OS usage issue I don't think there's much we can do about until either Samsung release a 2.3.4 android rom or someone manages to get AOSP CM7 ROM released because apparently it's a known Android bug for dual core phones....
many thx

your usage actually looks pretty normal to me. 13 hours unplugged with 4 hours screen-on time, 22% battery left. not bad at all. i didnt notice what the android OS CPU time was though to make any assessment of that.
I adding some detail u mentioned in the original post, does that help?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Ok well your CPU usage is low which is good and means you font have the issue that some others have. I wouldn't worry too much.
thanks

Hi, on my old desire I used Current widget to get a log for how much battery I was using. Unfortunately this program doesn't work with samsungs battery drivers.
Any tips on how to do this? Want to test different setting to get a better picture of the battery usage
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I wanted to try to edit the Samsung battery driver to enable current readings, I think it could be done.
That said someone claimed battery monitor pro worked to see current, but I'm not totally sure. I made a current widget thread here weeks ago.
Thanks for the reply. I see I should have searched (the search function in the xda app is terrible tho) .
Just tried the program, and all it would tell me was an estimation, not at all accurate. It kept hopping between guessing 1 or 2 mA. Didn't even know capacity of the battery.

Ok so that answers that then. I really would like to try a project modifying the battery driver to enable current readings at some point. Maybe someday...until then not much to do.
Does the current widget show readings with the charger plugged in? The original galaxy worked this way.
for now battery monitor works as far as giving estimates and you have to configure the battery manually but it logs and you can put a widget in your task tray that shows the battery in percentage.
Looking for an app that can give me an accurate time of when my battery will be completely dead, charged, and current percentage. Tried battery eta and currently use battery diviner which.gives me everything Ibwant but I feel its not to.accurate at times. Anyone know if there is a really good accurate app out there or should I stick with just checking the battery level?

+1 This is what I use.
ZDBox from the market. It serves multiple purposes.

This is my first time uploading a picture using my phone, so I don't know if you have to click it or if it will embed, but here is a screen shot of ZDBox's battery manager. You can also set is to display in the notification bar if you choose.

I use ZDBox. I like you can have the info on the drop down. Also will tell you how much time until charged.
My Tab won't stay asleep. It randomly wakes up for a few seconds (5-10) then goes back to sleep. I can't seem to pin down a rhyme or reason as it doesn't always happen, but it does happen often. My main concern is battery drain. I'm running Task 14 with a boosted theme and stock kernel. I've reflashed the Rom but the issue still exists. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can try?
Your Not Alone!!
I would like to know also, as I have spotted mine do this too on occasions, anyone got any ideas out there please?
BTW, I am also running a Boosted themed Task14 with Pershoots kernel
I am not sure in this case, but I guess it could be an app you have installed. You should monitor with task manager which tasks are running and switch them off temporary to find out which app cause the problem.

I put both cpu spy and b.b.s. along with watchdog on, and can't seem to spot anything weird. Nothing is hogging a lot of juice, and it has plenty of deep sleep time. When it does a random wake up and I use the TouchWiz task manager it shows no active apps and Watchdog only shows minor things in the background, I'm not familiar with b.b.s. or cpu spy, is there something I should be looking for I am missing? Thanks for trying to help me figure this out.

You can also send a log of your bbs stats to the bbs thread and let them see if they can see anything

Thanks for the tip. Yeah I use b00sted's ICS theme. I noticed the other person in this thread with the same problem is also using one of his themes which points in that direction except that I believe they are pretty widely used and tested themes. However I will probably remove it when I get around to reflashing the ROM as I think that's the only way to remove it to see if that solves the issue.
In case anyone was wondering, I think I got the problem figured out. I use the honeybar app to bide my task bar. When I disable it, I no longer see the problem. (it's been a couple of days and I haven't caught it lighting up yet.)

Hello! I usually get about 2 hours of screen on time on my GS3. After doing some research, i found out that 2 hours is not very good...so I have some questions. Take into account that I have tried to minimalise the us on my GS3 and also watched battery tips and tricks videos and even flashed bestMultitasking fix already.
Is there someway to improve my battery life?
While making this thread, my battery dropped from 36 to 34, using wifi and power saving on...also, my signal is full, so it's not a problem from cellular reception
get checkup of your battery and apart from that also goto settings>battery and see how which activity uses the most battery
The 2nd screenshot is from the android system ...

It seems that Android OS is killing some of your battery life, this usually only happens when you flash a custom ROM, Id suggest finding out what is killing your battery, download an app called wakelock detector, itll show whats using what
Also, the Greenify app is amazing, it wont let any app you chose to run unless you click it.
You could try turning on your power saving setting, itll slow the phone right down ( thats why i hate touchwiz ) but itll give you an extra 30 minutes of screen on time
Theres always custom Roms and kernels too, Ive got the Illusion Rom which ate up the battery for a day ( every new ROM does this ) and then applied the Googy Max kernel, Im running on 800 mhz with undervolting and still silky smooth
Also, try disabling Google services/ sync and disable Google now, for some reasons they seem to be the issue in most cases

This was today's usage...I don't get it. I guess that media server is when I play music through bluetooth in my car. Still, very bad screen on time ...
the factors that affect battery life:
-screen brightness
-bluetooh connection
-wi-fi connection
-gps
-3G/2G connection
-synchronization
-wallpaper
-vibration
Get zerolemon battery i can get 11/12 hours screen on time with juice to spare!
