Hello guys
I'm still on stock rom bud i want to try the custom one.
Could you please recommend me any?
I would expect:
- Android 4
- The AOSP one (or with AOSP theme) - not sense ui
- Working 3D (3D camera, watch 3D video/pictures)
- Stable for daily use - without bugs with calls, sms etc.
I'm GSM user.
Thank you!
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676276.
Everything is working.
It does not look like AOSP :X

AFAIK there are no aosp ics roms with 3d working. To have 3d working, you must use a sense based rom. You could use a desensify script on a sense rom for a close to aosp experience.

All AOSP roms to date do not have 3D or wimax working. You can get a sense based rom and use a rom cleaner script to remove as much sense as possible, but the framework will still be sense. I use CyanogenMod 9 (AOSP) and all its missing is 3d & wimax. When I do need those features, I nandroid back to a sense rom. Good luck.

OK, thanks for replies.
I like classic theme like cm9, but sense is good too..
I'm still deciding if im going to root/s-off/custom rom or wait for official update..
this will suit your needs :.

You could wait, but I'm sure as soon as the official ota is released, it will be released as a custom rom that is much better.

I like MIUI, I've tested MIUI Spain and MIUI Scotland.
The last one is very, very good but these days is closing :-(
Now I'm looking for a good on to my SGS (GT-I9000). Any recommendation?
MIUI for customisation and look.
CM for speed and performance
stock for stability.
each one has its own + and - . so its all personal preference.

MIUI, but I'm currently on ICS stock because the MIUIv4 ports for my device are buggy as hell. I just wish stock had the icon consistency/theming that MIUI has, its the only thing I miss.

Currently CyanogenMod, because of my Xperia X8 is not supported by MIUI and Stock crashes a lot. So CyanogenMod. I actually use a ROM based on CyanogenMod called GingerDX by Doixanh, because of the stock CyanogenMod wants FreeXperia kernel and errors occurred when I was doing it (actually I was trying to flash NobodyAtAll's nAa kernel) and I tried on my Galaxy 5 (now it is my sister's)(Galaxy 5= GT-I5500), it worked after flashing the correct baseband on ODIN Multi Downloader.
I would go with MIUI if there was a working from with no bugs. So atm I'm using ICS

I love CyanogenMod which I was using in my previous phone....but unfortunately they didn't make a port for SGS+ yet!!! Hope they will make one soon!!

What ROM do you use on your Nexus One?
Another vote for CM due to it's tweakability.
Personal favourites can be found only by testing, testing and testing.
I'd try CM, but it requires an unlocked bootloader, which voids warranty, and disables me from using OTA updates. :/
Same reason as Mattyas: Tweakability.
I like CM to, but unfortunately they didn't make one yet for alcatel ot-990 :-(
I have used it on my Tattoo that I had and it was great. I am still searching for at least some customisations that are on cm.

MIUI = Customizable and better redesigned look.
CM7 = Stock Android look (with exception of Theme Chooser themes) but greater performance and stability.
CM7 always ran much smoother and faster for me but I always loved MIUI's UI. I stick with CM7 just because it is always stable and reliable. HTC Passion (Google Nexus One).
hv tried stock based,cm based n miui based roms for sometime. all of them hv been stable n gud.
but i like miui cos of its customisation. each themes gives a new look to my fone. m jus lovin it

I have used all three types and I have liked things from all of them and found fault in all the same. It all just came down to what I liked the most for what I wanted/needed.
I use mainly MIUI as I love the thousands of custom themes that are easily mixed and matched.
In the end it is always up to what you feel is the right one for you. The best advice I can give you is to try each one for a week and after that you should have a good idea of which one is best for you.
one do you like? CyanogenMod/MIUI
MIUI. I haven't updated to MIUI v4 because I like the theming too much, and there aren't many themes compatible with MIUI ICS.
I've actually been on MIUI for almost a year.

Stock on my Xperia X8 Crashes, Original MIUI doesn't support X8 (There are ports on XDA for X8) and I have tried MIUI on My Uncle's HD2 (but not MIUIv4) (he is not from blood, just for respect and he works at my dad's office) and CyanogenMod wants FreeXperia Kernel and I am using a ROM Called GingerDX, which is based on CyanogenMod 7.1 (and available for the Stock Kernel). So currently CyanogenMod, reasons: Tweaks, themes, etc. (I just like it).
P.S: If I was unfair, then I'm sorry.

All ginger - very fast fully functional but really old.
Official ics - Laggy , self rebooting sth , Fully functional
CM9 - smoother but torch and camera flash need patch to fix. CM9 have none of XLOUD , BRAVIA , Dual mic need patch to fix. Camera performance is drop down from official. i don't know why. may be it cause by sony camera app ( we can not port sony camera app to CM9 for now )
CM10 and Jelly rom - Alpha one. fast but extremely not fully functional ( i think)
Every one here love to use Official ics as base ( MIUI , Tweaked rom or what ever ) cuz it fully functional.
for me, I need some rom that use CM9 stable version as base. cuz it was super fast.
I want a rom for locked bootloader, I cant unlock my bootloader on my phone bcuz my carrier has locked fastboot mode
how did carrier lock fastboot mode .. .___.
Currently stripped customize Official Stock ICS firmware is the best choice for Xperia ray. But most dev here are focusing on CM10 development. I recommend you to join and develop with them to get stable Jelly Bean.

Hi, I would definitely go for something stock-based, quite lite, similar to JJ's Hybrid ROM, but faster like RayOniumICS and with loooooooot of customisatinos. I like all the present ROMs but every ROM has something. It would be nice if you could take the best from each ROM and put it together. Oh and please don't forget the CRT effect from CM9 I'm a big fan of that. I would also suggest to make some addons as well because developers usually like to their ROM without the SONY stuff like 3dcamera, Timescape...
i'd like to see tweaked miui rom, with alot of customization of course.
miui is great on customization, and i like my phone being different
If you could develop an app or mod to enable ad-hoc WIFI support that would be great.
I see many great ROMs here, but some of them lack this support.

Nothing against the devs of ICS ROMs but ICS can never be as good as JB. Tried PACman and it's amazing. Btw I've tried every single ROM and I say this one's the best. But try all of them, it's worth it.

I've been using flylight for a while now and can strongly recommend it. As a base Rom it's clean and fast and it has coped with all the mods I've layered on top
The other approach is to choose something like jelly sandwich; with its aroma installer you have your choice of all the best mods out there.
As far as I can tell all of the 587 roms are pretty tight so it really is a choice between a stripped Rom like fly light or s fully featured one like jelly sandwich.
Don't discount CM either the ics build is excellent imo.

i'm verry happy with PAC alpha 11 +1st patch.

(in alpha 10 battery life was bad, 11 is very good).
Hey guys I really appreciate for this advice thank you
I'm on jellysandwich now 6.2 and it still has bugs and I feel that its slow don't know why but whatever. I'm going to try superleggera now than flylight and than ill make my choice. Pac and fxp don't work since they are cm based don't why but both of them give me fc android.phone.process I believe its sim related because I can't get a single bar of reception. Can you use semi-transparency for dialogs and other pop-up stuffs?
It looks cool when I try it for some drawables but then I don't know if using it too much might slow down the ROM and I'm not an experienced tweaker.
Personally, I prefer a good-looking ROM to a fast bareboned ROM as long as it is usable (I'm not into gaming).

I don't know what to suggest, allen hu's jellysandwich which came out yesterday pretty much just wiped away any customized stock based rom by including EVERYTHING
I'm trying to find a nice balance on roms but it's hard. I like stock because it has a lot of the features that are in the phone (duh) like the HTC Surround and everything, however I hate sense and the constant "Data Error" popup, is there a way to disable the annoying popup. I like Harmonia because it has the FM radio, but it's still sense and missing a few stock features.
Then we have JB, which I love but there is no HTC 3D Surround Virtualization, FM radio and Google Now or Voice texting never works, and that's just a nice set of tools to have. Also DSPManager is a MUST HAVE.
There's also MIUI, but in the last update MMS was broke so although I like it, that's an issue, and it's a bit painful to navigate, although it looks beautiful.
So I'm caught in a triangle, is anybody aware of a rom that is somewhere in the middle with this? For now I have the Wild for the NIght rom CDMA, and I love it.
