* * * Due to the huge response here, I've decided to close down this thread * * *
Hi there,
I've spent some time learning how to make my own CM7 theme lately and I thought that I would share my work here in a new thread.
It's still a work in progress and I will most likely update it once in a while; but please remember the 1st rule: do not ask for ETA (timeframe) [and please also do not 'full-quote' long posts unnecessarily].
I've used some different UI text colors and did it kind of the "rough way"; i.e.: the colors will also be changed in some of your installed apps. It's really not the best way to do it, but I find that it does bring something new to the phone anyway... And in some cases [see the pic about storage], I find that it is quite convenient to see which options are actually selectable or not.
Again, this is a work in progress and I'm sure that there will be a few things to improve and I count on everyone's feedback. So if you see things that look weird (some 3G/4G stats icons for example - which I cannot test at the moment) or things you would like to be changed, please let me know and give screenshots... I'll see what I can do about it.
But most of all: try it, if you like it good! if not: trash it! :good:
This is my first real shot at theming so I'm no expert and I'm even less experienced at 'photoshopping'. So from the get go, big thanks to xda members MrDSL and kevin2516 for their respective themes (and guidance) which I picked from and modded.
This theme is transparent statusbar friendly [and look best that way] but to make that happen, you will need to do a slight modification within a smali file inside the SystemUI.apk of you specific build. Details on how to do so can be found here on this post and you can skip the part about changing the png pictures sinces those are changed within the theme already.
Again: this SystemUI.apk file is one a the backbones of cm7 for user interface and changes from build to build --> so the tweak has to be redone for every new nightly installation.
Finally, since I've made this on a PC running Windows, you will get an error message when applying the theme with Theme Chooser saying that the theme is missing assets for your phone's resolution. It's a Theme Chooser's limitation: just choose "Apply anyway" and do not forget to reboot.
I hope you enjoy!
/AL
P.S.: i) XDA apk file attachments are somehow transformed to zip files once downloaded; so don't forget to rename the theme to xx.apk before trying to install; ii) some of the screenshots might be slightly outdated and not fully representative of the current state of work.

v1.2:
- minor update fixing various small glitches
- retouched the dialer and made it semi-transparent
- fixed patch-9 file on keyboard
- fixed a couple icons that were barely visible
- changed the sms "sent" tag text color and made the box for new messages green
(I suggest using the option 'use black background' for nicer look
-->requires killing messaging cached process to apply or a reboot)
v1.1:
- new ADW app drawer icon;
- fixed the shade of most menu icons (black ones for white bg) and
changed a few of them: settings, edit, delete, emoticons...;
- changed most icons related to mms attachement choices + Gallery icon;
- reverted Install animation back to TouchWizzed green;
- new "Ongoing/Notifications/Carrier text color;
- new mms animation and re-tweaked the new sms one;
- fixed the dialer's call log single-entry selected background
(couldn't read the black text and uggly);
- new Dropbox icon, upload AND download animations;
- fixed dialer's button size and wrongly enable/disable states display (3 action btns)
and pressed background color (no more uggly light blue on those ones ;P -for Coco);
- changed the dialer's ('Manage applications' and others) top Tabs
to TouchWizz style: slightly less light blue and vertical and separators now showing
[and 5-6 icons for it];
- retouched most of the light blue 'pressed' color (there were >10 shades of it...)
-> might still need some patch 9's tweaking for slight light blue shade stretching;
--> still looking to solved the statusbar date display (bg) when dropdown panel is down;
--> looking into modding sms for transparent background and popup dialogs.
v1.0:
- changed many icons and tab icons;
- changed keyboard blue keys color;
- fixed transparency of popup dialogs;
- added statusbar animations for missed call;
- added simple keys (buttons-like) on the dialer;
- fixed the overscroll glow and bars;
- added statusbar animation for new sms;
- made the 'scrollbar_handle_accelerated' semi-transparent;
- fixed the keyboard shift key indicator light;
- fixed the keyboard suggested words strip and font colors;
- ... and a few other things that my old brain forgot

* * * Due to the huge response here, I've decided to close down this thread * * *
OK, here's some use for this reserved spot...
[I mainly wrote this up for myself as a reminder only, but why not share it with you guys right!?!]
How to fix the date overlapping issue in statusbar.
Credits go to Achep
for his JB-style notification panel time/date layout – a big THANK YOU.
His index thread here
Let’s start!
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
…or at least make an UNDO flashable zip with the original SystemUI.apk in case that you lose the statusbar in the process and are unable to switch the memory card access from it. You could then also access it through the recovery usb sharing option, but the zip is easier…
Tools needed:
- Prior knowledge on decompiling/compiling apks.
- 7-zip
- Notepad++
- Paint.NET
- Apktool or other decompiling/compiling tool
[sorry I have no link for all those at this time – maybe later]
Notes:
- I put some extra details here and there might be errors – thanks for signaling them to me; I’ll do my best to update/correct stuff up as needed;
- I will not answer questions on how to compile/decompile if you do not do your part first and learn about all that stuff. So read about Java and Android development kits, see environment path variables for java… Signing apks or not (for system apps)…
Let’s start for real this time…:
Pull these two files from the nightly zip : framework-res.apk [in \system\framework] and SystemUI.apk [in \system\app] and place them in your apktool folder [c:\apktool in this guide].
Decompiling SystemUI.apk:
Code:
Run: cmd
Load apktool folder:
Code:
cd c:\apktool
Load the framework:
Code:
apktool if framework-res.apk
Decompile SystemUI.apk:
Code:
apktool d SystemUI.apk
You can leave this command prompt window open (or minimize it to tray) as we’ll need it to recompile in not too long…
Enabling transparent statusbar:
Go to C:\apktool\SystemUI\smali\com\android\systemui\statusbar\ folder.
Open StatusBarService.smali with Notepad++ and look for [Search/Find…]:
Code:
invoke-direct/range {v0 .. v5}, Landroid/view/WindowManager$LayoutParams;-><init>(IIIII)V
[this should be around line 2220]
And change the line just above it from:
Code:
const/4 v5, 0x2
to:
Code:
const/4 v5, -0x3
Save the file and exit.
Note:
As is, that part will allow transparent statusbar for themes made for it.
If you do not want to use a custom transparent-enabled theme, you will then have to modify these 2 files in C:\apktool\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\:
statusbar_background.9.png
status_bar_background.9.png
and set their layer transparency level [with Gimp, Photoshop, Paint.NET or whatever] to whatever you like. But be careful: they are .9 files so you should not make the surrounding one pixel border transparent at all. Learn more about handling .9.png files before venturing into this [might write up something about this at another time].
Optionally, you can also modify these 2 files (which are for the notification panel pulldown background and the handle at the bottom):
shade_bg.png
status_bar_close_on.9.png
More info on all this can be found here on post #2 of one of my previous thread.
Otherwise, you can use my WizAL theme from the OP and it will save you the trouble.
Removing the date (and its background) from the pulled down statusbar:
Navigate to and open up: C:\apktooll\SystemUI\res\layout\status_bar.xml
Find [~ 3rd line from the bottom]:
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.DateView android:textAppearance="@android:style/TextAppearance.StatusBar.Icon" android:gravity="left|center" android:id="@id/date" android:background="@drawable/statusbar_background" android:paddingLeft="6.0px" android:paddingRight="6.0px" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:singleLine="true" />
Change it to:
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.DateView android:textAppearance="@android:style/TextAppearance.StatusBar.Icon" android:gravity="left|center" android:id="@id/date" android:textColor="@android:color/transparent" android:background="@android:color/transparent" android:paddingLeft="6.0px" android:paddingRight="6.0px" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:singleLine="true" />
Save the file.
Adding AChep’s JB-style Date layout in the pulldown notification panel:
Download the attached zip and extract the 2 smali files from AChep [StatusBarJellyHeaderView.smali and StatusBarJellyHeaderView$1.smali ] and paste them into this folder:
C:\apktool_al\SystemUI\smali\com\android\systemui\statusbar\
Now go to C:\apktool\SystemUI\res\layout\status_bar_expanded.xml and look for:
Code:
<LinearLayout android:gravity="center_vertical" android:orientation="horizontal" android:id="@id/carrier_label_layout" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content">
[around or at line 6]
And paste this code just below:
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.StatusBarJellyHeaderView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:paddingRight="37.0dip" />
This previous step is not perfect as I just use some padding between the new date/time layout and the clear button. So that button will move left and right slightly depending on how much space the time takes. I still need to learn how to use RelativeLayouts…so if anyone knows, please share your knowledge.
Now with this mod, there is no room for the carrier label on there; so let’s remove it completely by removing the line directly below the one you’ve just added – so delete this line:
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.CarrierLabel android:textAppearance="?android:textAppearanceLarge" android:textColor="@color/carrier_label_text_color" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:paddingLeft="4.0dip" android:paddingBottom="1.0dip" android:layout_width="0.0dip" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginLeft="5.0dip" android:layout_marginTop="1.0dip" android:layout_weight="1.0" />
Save file and exit.
We’re now ready to recompile the SystemUI.apk:
Code:
apktool b SystemUI
Go to your desktop and place an untouched copy of your SystemUI.apk file on there [you can copy the one you’ve previously placed in c:\apktool folder if needed].
Right-click on it and select: 7-zip / Open archive.
Now in your C:\apktool\SystemUI\ working folder you will see: a new “build” folder --> open it up and then also open up the “apk” sub-folder.
From it, select these three things: the complete “res” folder, the “classes.dex” file and the “resources.arsc” file and replace the originals by drag-and-dropping them onto your desktop [untouched] opened archive. [answer yes to the file copy popup]. Close the archive and and you’re basically done!!
Just remember that this file is now your modded SystemUI.apk so you can push it to \system\app folder on your phone [do not rename it] through adb or [my preferred method] through the use of CWM recovery flashable zip.
References:
- Go read THIS if you want to learn how to make a CWM recovery flashable zips.
Final Notes:
- I do not recommend to push the resulting file manually [read with RootExplorer or other file managers] because you might make the statusbar disappear or worst case, get into an error loop before you get the chance to set the file’s permissions. So you’ve been warned: use adb or an update zip to push the modded file.
- for this to tweak to display properly, you will have to make sure that you do not choose the “Compact carrier label” option in CyanogenMod settings / Interface / Status bar tweaks.
- Again, play it safe and prepare yourself an undo patch with the original SystemUI.apk.
THE ATTACHED FLASHABLE ZIP IS TO BE APPLIED TO MANIAC103'S 2012NOV07 (Defy or Defy+) BUILDS ONLY
[although maniac's OCT25th (plus/no plus) builds have he exact same SystemUI.apk also...]
AGAIN: the SystemUI.apk changes from build to build and using this zip on another build might break things up;
==> this is why this guide exists:so redo the mod/zip for future (or older) nightly builds.
Cheers
/A

I take that you like it then? -thanks.
Well, like I said in the OP, it's my first real attempt at making a theme and it is far from perfect. There are many little glitches I can still see like the date on the statusbar [2nd pic] when the notification panel is down, the general font color change is really also not the best way to do it...
I also have a lot to learn and many things I want to try first.
Although I did spend quite a few hours on this already, I still feel that it is far from meeting my personal quality standards and I would not post for such a wider audience yet; by respect to other themers and users...
Afterall, this is just a personal theme that I share here...

When the time comes maybe...
Please, let me do my learning and experimenting first...
But for now, I'm happy with cm7; especially with the level of support that Maniac103 is still bringing to it for us.
Thanks this theme is awesome!
Thanks ALL...its a great work.
Im using it on my defy but....is there any way to change the keyboard theme? Its the only thing I dont like.
And can I ask for something?...Can you make a black or dark version? I mean change all the blue stuff to a black or maybe dark blue...
It´s just and idea/opinion.
Again thanks for the hard work.
ALL for the transparent status bar, you also can enable it using OUT KITCHEN
All you have to do is enable the option "Enable transparency in status bar" in the "Status Bar" tab and upload the SystemUI.apk and the framework-res.apk from the rom you are using.
Then download the zip file and flash it from recovery.

You're welcomed and thanks - I appreciate.
As for your question:
well, as I said, I'm no expert at Photoshop and I know that I'll one day have to redo all this many times... But simple answer is yes - it can easilly be done.
By simply modding 5 picture files basically.. - believe it or not.
Check the zip, do your changes and I could switch it for you.
To replace those file in, you to be familliar patch - 9 format patching and how to compile them... [the kind of stuff I kept post #2 for eventually... Theming/forum posting overdose lately here...]. Once you know that, it would be just a matter of replacing the files in the apk with 7-zip and resigning it... [or re-compile the theme with uncompiled .9.pngs; what I would do..]
But again I could take care of that part for you np... So plz have a go at the PS part - go wild at it!! -hehehe. :good:
great theme

Nice theme :good:
Happy Friday the 13th all!!
Here's maybe what will be my last update for this theme (we'll see about that...).
My guess is that well over 100 pics were added or retouched since v1.2.
And here's a rough changelog:
Code:
- Blue themed FM radio and icon
- Colored stat icons for Skype status: oh yeah! - finally!!
- ICS-style installation progress bar
and slight changes to:
- Tapatalk pro
- AdvanceTaskKiller
- DI Radio (Digital Interactive)
- SoundRecorder (colored the 3 buttons from white)
- Wiki Pro
- Email checkmarks
- Player Pro logo and stat icons
- SU icon
- DSP icon
- 3 text selectors color
- Terminal icon
- dialers buttons again
...and many single changes here and there
So go to the OP for the apk
Cheers
/A
P.S.: And sorry for the ones waiting for the ICS version of the theme: don't hold your breathe on this.
I've had good intentions of doing it (especially after seeing full HWA finally working), but after trying CM9 again,
I just don't like it and don't think I'll ever move to it. Maybe for Jelly Bean... who knows!?!

Hi and thanks - I'm glad you like the theme.
I really don't know why the dialer doesn't display properly for you.
Did you do like I clearly stated on the OP and reboot your phone after applying the theme?
Are you using a non-standard screen dpi setting by any chance??
For the Y-shaped signal statusbar icon, I've never seen or used a theme with 5 bars, so I would not know off-hand how to do it. But I'm sure that it would take more than just different pics. So if you know of such a theme, give me a link to it and I "might" have a look into it. But I can tell you right away that I'll be extremely busy for the next 2-3 weeks and will likely not have any time for this - sorry.
But anyhow, I put something together for you (very quickly - I did not even try it to see how it looks..); so try it to see if it fits your taste.
The first state of signal reception will show the first 2 bars and the no signal state will show a very dimmed first bar. And as usual, you'll get the full colors when Google is 'connected' and ready to sync (on wifi or 3G, 4G...)
Otherwise, I suggest that you try to do it yourself; it fairly easy to do. On your destop, use 7-zip and right click on the apk and chose "Open archive" [not Extract just Open], navigate to "WizAL.apk/res/drawable-hdpi" folder and find the signal pictures. They're all named "stat_sys_signal_X.png" or "stat_sys_signal_X_fully.png" (where X is 0 to 4 --> so 10 pictures total). Do your changes and replace them in. Re-sign the apk, re-install, re-apply and rebooot: done!
If you're not familiar with apk signing, you can do it straight on your phone: just look for something like "zipsigner 2" on the Playstore.
Lastly, if you like my work (and this answer): don't be shy and hit that "Thank" button - it's the least you can do and it's free.
At least, it shows a little more appreciation.... I'm sure that you can imagine how long a 1,200+ pictures (all the picture editing and related xml entries) take to put together...
Cheers,
/AL
P.S.: I strongly suggest you to update your CM7 to Maniac103's latest build. You're really missing out on many great improvements and bug fixes by staying on CM7 RC1.5....and who knows if you're dialer display problems is not also related to this !? [it really shouldn't but still...]

OK, thanks for the info; I will try to investigate the dialer...eventually (really don't know when I'll find time for that..)
Maybe your 3rd party dialer interferring with it? Have you tried to uninstall it to see if my theme's dialer becomes OK?
I don't know really; here I use 1.3 since I've posted it and all is fine...
OK, regarding your icons, try this new one, I think it should be better... I did it too quickly the first time and didn't think too much about it...
Cheers,

I continue experimenting with Co0kie Home Tab 2.0.0. Mainly CHTtweaks allow to change textures in .png format using the file explorer and give the option to easily change the text font for all CHT elements independently. Aditionally CHTtweaks uses great tool JMLMenuSense to make a setting menu.
CHTtweaks brings major changes as the original files of CHT.2.0.0 lua & mode9 are modified. I am also providing the open source where the changes are marked (--CHTtweaks) in the files as explanation. Feel free to use, modify, edit, mirror, sale, delete or whatever you want to do with this, but always with fun
For security also I am providing the original CHT files to restore if necessary. Just copy all files from insode the zip to windows folder, acept overwrite & restart Sense.
The files with changes are the followings:
5950B2CD_manila -- Co0kieNotifyBar.lua ==> added a 3rd layout for text missed calls - sms - emails - voicemail notification, Configurable: text font, size, color, alignment, language, displayed text
5fa4d4b7_manila -- homedigitalclock.lua ==> chose png texture for numbers, colon & background; switch for transparent flipclock-tabs; switch for get out of the midle flipclock line.
4B558519_manila -- CHT_Widgets.lua ==> selectable opacity for home clock background; added 4th layout to textclock: alarm icon only; added 3rd layout text notifications
1EC5924B_manila -- homeAnalogClock.lua ==> chose png texture for analog clock face, hourhand, minutehand & secondshand
new!2AFAFEFA_manila -- CHT_Softkeys.lua ==> chose png texture for the softkeys background; switch for transparent softkeys & softkeys background; switch to dissable the enlargement softkey icon when pressed, work done by devil-strike based on the script of rat_2665 (all credits for them please). Extended CHT menu. Hide taskbar new!
29C5E347_manila -- Co0kieEmail.lua ==> chose png texture for CHT email background independently of Email Sense Tab; change text font
7ECB5997_manila -- Co0kieMessages.lua ==> chose png texture for CHT SMS background; change text font
4956014B_manila -- CHT_Lockscreen.lua ==> chose png texture for the slider unlocker of each CHT lockscreen (Manila, Windows, Mini HD)
6A5D6A2D_manila -- Co0kieMusicPlayer.lua ==> switch transparent CHT music player background; change text font; change background
45E83959_manila -- CHT_Titlebar.lua ==> switch transparent home title bar; set color for other Sense Tab titles (excepting Music Sense Tab & Internet Sense Tab); change text font; switch page indicators to botton screen
5146EC01_manila -- Co0kieAppointments.lua, 45D3F17C_manila -- Co0kieListControl.lua & 094C0231_manila -- Co0kieAppointments.mode9==> switch transparent background for CHT appointment, horizontal alignment & change text font
3ACCF880_manila -- CHT_QuickLinks.lua==> change text font for quicklinks labels; change quiklinks frames
58B6C4C5_manila -- CHT_FreeLinks.lua==> change text font for freelinks labels; change freelinks frames
346BA8F0_manila -- Co0kieTextClock.lua==> change text font for the clock, date & alarm bar widget
6639bcc4_manila -- weatherforhome.lua==> change text font for weather info for home.
6DB6511F_manila -- CHT_Constants.lua==> dock size up to 120px
new! 285d005a_manila -- manila.lua & 3a8e04af_manila -- manila.mode9==> pie control in all sense tabs
CHTtweaks does also add some settings that use to be done in CHTEditor, now you can also do it in CHTtweaks, like disable double flip or minute flip; show seconds hand; set softkey height & menu height; set color for CHT Email text & CHT SMS text; select lockscreen style (0= Manila; 1= Windows; 2= HD Mini)
To restore default manila texture just leave the texture path in blank and restart Sense. CHTtweaks is provided without png textures because it was making so big. I have uploaded a pack CHTtweaks_PNGtextures.rar with some examples, just unpack it in the SD\CHTtweaks folder and select your favorite, delete, add new textures ... and share them with us! I havent done any of this nice graphics. I am taking graphics from NordPolCamper, MrBeO, LNando84, Santod040, [email protected], _leciel_, S-Droid, Sternas & ericv99. Thank you so much for them! Special thanks to LNando84 for all the good work and help with the setting menu.
Installation:
CHT2.0.0 needs to be installed previously.
Switch Off Sense.
uninstall any previous version, acept soft-resset.
Install CHTtweaks.v0.97.cab in device, accept soft-resset.
Install JMLMenuSense 1.60 or higher in device, only in case you allready have not installed for other widgets (v1.75 not working)
Extract CHTtweaks_PNGtextures.rar in device or SD, I use to do it in \Storage Card\CHTtweaks
Switch Sense On
Find CHTtweaks in Start Menu\Programs & CHT menu.
You can uninstall CHTtweaks.v0.97.beta.cab. If you have any problem after deinstallation use restore.CHT.original.zip, just copy the original files from inside the rar to windows folder, acept overwrite and do restart Sense.
Also you can restore independently any modified file of CHT and the rest will continue working. I mean if you like the way of changing the CHT Email background but nothing else, just restore all the files excepting 29C5E347_manila. CHTtweaks will continue working only with this feature.
NEW! ONE CLICK TO HIDE TASKBAR NEW!
Just copy the file into the zip to windows folder and accept overwrite and restart Sense
LOCKSCREEN
CHTtweaks.097.beta contains ICS lockscreen for CHT2.0. This lockscreen substitute CHT Windows lockscreen. It is made by 3 .png files: ICSlockscreen.png (256x256) for the slider; ICSlockscreen2.png (256x256) for the slider pressed; ICSlockscreenBG.png (512x512) for the lockscreen background. Of course you can change this graphics as usual in CHTtweaks, just go to lockscreen menu and select textures from internal memory or SD (to get default graphic just leave it blank. You can also select the application to launch by unlocking in left slide. As most of the CHTtweaks you can use this ICS lockscreen independently of CHTtweaks.
The others lockscreens (manila & HDmini style) can also be customized with CHttweaks.

Tip: Go to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.Tweaks.TransparentHomeAgenda and set the opacity value for the agenda from 1 to 100 (50, 33, etc)
SOFTKEYS
Just a few clicks and you can change easily the softkeys. Also I added the option to disable the softkeys icon enlarge when pressed, accordingly to the work done here by devil-strike based on the script of rat_2665
CHTtweaks includes the option to have transparent softkeys background in one click. All this changes in softkeys needs re-start Sense. Also includes the file restore.CHT.original.rar in case you want to uninstall this cab, just copy the files inside the rar into \windows and restart sense.
Special thanks to lnando84 for the tests and the work in the setting menu and all Dream Team for the nice graphics.
Tip: I am uploading a few transparent softkeys icons very useful to play a bit with this softkeys backgrounds textures. Enjoy!
Tons of Softkey bars (Docks) uploaded in this post and followings. Thankyou very much ezzie (& Nando)
EMAIL & SMS
in this post and followings ezzie has uploaded a lot of graphics for SMS & Email ready to use wth CHTtweaks. Thanks a lot!
HOMECLOCK
Thanks to the amazing work of Dunc001 in SimClock a lot of new possibilties are comming to the world of CHTwidgets. CHTtweaks add the feature to easily change the texture of some elements of the homeclock using png files.
Just open CHTtweaks menu setting (CHTquicklink / CHTfreelink >> miscellaneous) go to home clock setting and use the file explorer to find your favourite texture for the home analog clock, the numbers of the home flipclock and the colon (two dots). Also select the font text for the weather info & text clock. You can always restore the defeult textures just deleting the texture path and restarting sense
EDIT: With so many changes of home analog clock may be useful this set of clock hands good for any light-dark clockface
Thanks to Lnando84 you can find here (and followings posts) lots of clocks in png format, ready to use with CHTtweaks!
A few clocks, softkeys, Lockscreens, etc to enjoy with CHTtweaks. Unzip in SD card and select it with CHTtweaks:

Here is the kitchen. In the folder \workspace\lua there are all the files decompiled and commented, the modified code is marked with --CHTtweaks where is changed from the original. It also has been modified the mode9 file 094C0231_manila, it was necessary for the appointments transparency. You can run it without devMode (_Deploy_to_device_normal_mode.bat). All credits & thanks to Co0kie Monster.
Also uploaded the source and kitchen of most of my widgets including CHTtweaks:
Poy_fullKitchen.zip - 49.19 MB
HOW IT WORKS?
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
CHTtweaks 0.93.beta introduces small modifications in the lua files of Co0kie Home Tab 2.0.0 which makes that some properties of a few elements (homeclock, lockscreen unlocker, email background, etc) can be set in the registry HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.Tweaks.XXXX. This changes are compatible with any other widget or standar CHT skin: if there is no CHTtweak registry setting the default texture will be used.
Attaching the source of all modified files in which has been included the marks --CHTtweak for easy indentification. As example the code below say to CHT to use the png file for the home analog clock -defined previously by CHTtweaks setting menu, but if it does not exist it will use the default manila file
--#####Set texture for home analog clock by CHT Tweaks
SetTextureHomeAnalogClock= function ()
poyTweaks_HomeAnalogClock_texture_path = GetCHTSettingString("Tweaks.HomeAnalogTexture", "\\windows\\htc\\Home\\Assets\\Images\\Home\\VGA\\AnalogClock_bg.qtc")
analogclock:SetTexture(poyTweaks_HomeAnalogClock_texture_path)
end
SetTextureHomeAnalogClock ()

And never forget Co0kie's words specially where is said " ... The source code is freely available. You may modify it as you wish, but I do have a request:
If you're going to post a CHT modification publicly, post only the modified files and not the whole thing, so that the installation procedure is:
1) Install the main CHT cab first.
2) Install your modification.
Alternatively, if you want to use any part of this source code in your own independent manila project, you are free to do so, but please do post a mention that you're using this code and what parts.
That's the only thing I ask. I hope everyone will honour it. Thanks, here's the source, have fun with it."
Thanks again Co0kieMonster
CHTtweaks 1.8.5
(available beta 2)
At first BIG THANKS TO CO0KIE MASTER its amazing how he has converted a static home tab into a flexible and very customizable home tab. Every time I look a bit into the source files I get impressed what Co0kie has done. Not only the CHT itself, but also the source is free and available for use and enjoyment.
With this development I try to bring some of the advantages of CHTweaks to CHT1.8.5's friends. So I have started with the analog and flip clock (basic CHTwidget) and CHTtweaks can change the elements of the analog clock -face & hands- using textures in PNG format stored in any folder of device or SD. In the standard flip clock can be changed the numbers (always in PNG format) and add 2 dots between hours and minutes. Also clock background can be changed using textures in PNG format and set opacity from 1=transparent to 100. Aditionaly has been added some work i the Home Title Bar (transparency). Further development depends on comments and sugestions.
Installation
1. Install CHT 1.8.5 (& rest of the components)
2. Install CHTtweaks 1.8.5.betaXX.cab, softresset
3. Aditionally I recommend to install JMLMenuSense v1.60 (or higher) for access to setting menu
4. Access to configuration menu in \start menu\programs
5. Get lots of textures in PNG format here and everywhere in XDA
**DOWNLOAD HERE**
Attaching the kitchen. The source with the modified files are in folder \workspace\_lua\. Everybody is free to add features, correct bugs, edit files, delete them, change, sale, mirror, or whatever want to do with them. Use is not compulsory. CHTtweaks1.8.5 works fine in my HD2(WM6.5.x) with CHT1.8.5 installed, but if it does not work in your device I will help as much as I can.
If you want to try the kitchen*, do the changes in the lua files with notepad2 (inlcuded in tools folder) then run _Deploy_to_device_normal_mode.bat and the files will be recompiled and deployed to your device fro test. Once the changes are done, just run _Generate_files_for_cab.bat and will get the files ready for the cab in folder \cab\_files_final\
* at first the device must be synchronized with PC and run z_init.bat only once at the beginning.
CHTtweaks 1.8.5 includes Typoclock
A reduced version of Typoclock has been added as layout in standard textclock. This reduced typoclock has time, date and alarm icon, and can be configured in CHTtweaks 1.8.5 setting menu (or directly in registry HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.Tweaks.XXX). It can be changed: text font for time and date; color; text sizes; vertical position; horizontal alignment (left, center, right); hide alarm icon; alarm icon position.
To activate Typoclcok on CHT 1.8.5 install CHTtweaks, go to menu > edit home layout > select level > Advanced > show text clock > typoclock; for configuration just go to CHTtweaks setting menu (start menu\programs) > typoclock > set your favorite parameters.

Addon for CHT
Hola, looks and works very good
Great job and lot´s of work and thinking behind it. Congratulations amigo.
It works on both of my devices HD2 & HD Mini, much better than expected
For beeing a beta, I´d say it´s rather a "release candidate"
Hi Poy,
WOW !!!
What a great job amigo mio, this is really another huge step to a higher level in WM and CHT Widgets.
If all this great things continue growing at this pace we will soon see a massive immigration coming from the dark OS sides
Once again amigo, Big Thanks for sharing your amazing work
OMG OMG OMG......
I may have to leave "sick" to get home and apply this.....does tweakideation sound like a legit diesese?
Hi again Maestro,
I wondering if you have installed the Dunc"s CHT Fix40 Slots-Widgets you posted here and could you please check in your registry to see if it is shown 40 or 20, I just installed this fix but in my registry it still show 20 slot, is this right?
Thanks in advance, amigo

I really do not know what cab i have installed so many test ... but for sure is Dunc's CHT fix 40 widgets. Dunc's mod of mike2nl's CHT fix 40 widgets is not included in CHT Tweaks v0.90. Its linked to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12016868&postcount=24
I thinks that Dunc's mod of mike2nl's CHT fix 40 widgets should be standar nowdays, it should be added to CHT2.0.1 (or eventually to CHT Service Pack 1). This fix allows 40 widgets and reserve 8 slots for BG widgets. If you don't have 40 slots in the registry just add it: HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHTI.AddonWidgets.Count = 40
CHT Tweaks its just a protection to avoid overwrite the file home.mode9 when themers are working on home flip clock to convert it to digital clock with 2 dots & no flip line. Now you can get this mod without touching this fixed file. Something similar happends with CHT_rat_weather_library, with CHT Tweaks I am trying to protect this valious file to be overwritten.
Thanks for your fast reply Maestro.
I understood perfectly amigo, so I going to change the value 20 to 40 in the registry and I hope when I get my 21' widget everything goes ok
I just installed the 40 fix now because I know that amazing widgets are coming soon
Thanks again Amigo.
please give me stick note (hola) widget! Thanks
you'll find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965868&page=3

Now we´re getting to one of the main questions or issues since so many addon widgets and Cookie´s kitchen have been released. We are indeed loosing our "base2 or let´s say, "common ground"....
Guess we need a "Base Definition" in order to avoid future probs with "crucial" files in order to keep ONE basic CHT version & vision. I also think it is IMPERATIVE and every mod of this kind should always post a detailled list of the included and modded files, and maybe even provide the o files in case of probs. See notes and issues when uninstalling one of these files or widgets.
I´m not sure about a Service Pack... I would rather say this requires a new release, so all that´s been done up to now should be compatible with CHT 2.0 and all that´s beeing done in the future, based on your findings and Dunc´s SK-i Theme (and the evolutions for CHT within it) as well as from other CHT Members and users. Call it maybe CHT 2.5, or CHT 3.0 because it´s not a "minor update" like a bug fix or some addons. We´re talking about fundamental changes in CHT
Maybe this could be discussed with users and devs in actual CHT thread, or even a new thread? I´m asking this, because like with the update and new release of CHT 2.0, there are quite still a lot of CHT users that prefer older version (CHT 1.8.5.1) and have decided not to change. I guess there will be also enough that might want to stick to "unchanged" 2.0 instead of having to worry that new widgets need new mods on crucial files like home.mode9, etc...
Skinning mods of image files is one thing, as well as tweaking or partially modding mode9 files for fontsize, color, etc..., but mayor changes affecting luas, or other items in mode9 should be done very carefully, especially considering the fact, that this files and changes call upon a lot of other files, and this can really screw your Sense
Interesting and unique mod to CHT. I will try this, and post comments later! Thanks for sharing...

Yes, it´s me again After a few extensive tests, I do insist that a "File List" is imperative for not having to BAN overwriting or modding files that are crucial to the system and Sense. I´ve been switching mode9´s and Luas with CHTS now, and if you do it right, there will be no issues, but you need to know the files that are changed BEFORE installing the widgets or mods, so you can back them up before damage is done. The xmls included in all widgets, AND HERE IN THE PAST THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT THAT WHERE NOT WRITTEN PROPERLY AND THUS UNUSEFULL AND DANGEROUS, have to be checked and approved, otherwise they will be no good. CHTS can help overcome these problems if used properly. CHTS can save those crucial files before install to a save profile, and then you can use any file in another profile and so switch safely back and forth. But CHTS needs to know these files before install in order to back up / save the original ones
I have been able to switch from a Profile configured with rat´s changed home.mode9 file (his weather library needed for his last widgets) to another profile using the original (well, not original since CoOkie also modified the same file for CHT - so there is an Original file, then the CHT file and now the modded CHT files for that) CHT home.mode9 file and everything went fine. But still the manila/sense versions need to bee watched, since not all mode9 are version independent
Very nice useage of JMLMenuSense!
Sadly I cannot use Manila on my phone (too slow for normal use) - But indeed very useful!
Congratulations!
GreeZ!

Guys, i have read that Dunc has made a 40 widget fix for CHT. So far i can remember about that issue... i have done this fix and others, in team work of BHS and me before x-mas and i have published this in the CHT Artworkgroup as a beta testing issue.
Dunc please tell me why you have realeased this fix before we have done our intesive tests of this release is ok.
Hi again Mike, I dont see any controversy there. We are recommending to use Dunc`s verssion for the the CHT fix 40 slots -widgets, because it also has been altered to allow the use of 7 backgrounds widgets, as impleted in Blue Sk-i theme or CHT Walls. We all recognise your work and credits have been properly granted. Dont waste your time and energy on that, we have still a lot of work to do

Hola again, Mike and Poy, yes it´s true that Mike worked on that widget fix and it´s not about beeing mentioned, but about possible issues and misunderstandings about this particular and specific fix for Dunc´s SK-i Theme and CHT in general...
"The attached zip folder contains seven background widget cabs which will install the backgrounds you see used in the screenshots. You can choose to install any number of these and after you have installed them you can easily edit them using the reg changes and new images. However to get them to appear behind everything else on screen you first need to update the home.mode9 file. You will find a cab to install the mode9 and make the necessary reg edit in the zip folder with the widget cabs. Poyensa has edited this one for me to make the first eight widget slots appear behind eveything else so I have his original background widget and my seven installed and working perfectly. As an added bonus, and because the backgrounds will use up to eight widget slots this mode9 is also modified to allow up to 40 CHT widgets to be installed (the original maximum was only 20) so you shouldn't run out of space!"
And actually it was only 10 in the original coded but 20 "targetet"
The original CHT mode9 file (7c60907d_manila) indeed allowed only 20 slots, but in the Sk-i theme, the one modded or used was not the original file from CHT, but the one Mike modded!!! and not tested/approved for release
So let´s wait for Mike´s reasons and motives for not releasing it yet.....
A few weeks back, it was agreed that there were still some issues pending to be resolved prior to a public release as you remember when rat informed us about the mode of 3a8e04af_manila
No dissapointments friends, I have edited my posts to give propper credits to mike2nl. I've really always thought that mike is the creator of the original fix. Sorry for the inconveniences that this may have caused.
Have a Dell Streak 5?, Have an insaitable taste for sweet honeycomb and will stop at nothing until you get some?
Well, we'll just have to wait, but in the meantime, this may help with your cravings.
Here it is. Hope everyone likes it. Built and Tested on StreakDroid 1.9.1
I would encourage you to try it on any DeOdexed ROM 351 and later; but remember:
Nandroid Backup First! Serious::At least have a flashable .zip of current framework on sdcard(ie UOT.zip) just in case!
Tested on low and high res. battery in status bar is HC and has 100 images and animations<fun>, but no numbers. I trust everyone will use UOT for their own personal battery preferences. Also incuded honeycomb font for Clocktopia/lockscreen.
As of v0.6.0, I have included a custom status bar clock that uses DroidSerif-Regular.ttf, use a 3rd party app to change to attached Clocktopia.ttf, for honeycomb effect! Anywhere serif is used, you may get clocktopia which isnt really readable on froyo, but I have checked and havent seen it used anywhere actually. I originally had monospace, but that screws up some files in root explorer text editors. If you dont want this mod, simply open the .zip as an archive and delete services.jar from framework folder, enjoy!
link to font changer free in market... https://market.android.com/details?id=com.martino2k6.fontchangerlite&feature=search_result
install font changer, creates a default directory on sdcard named .fontchanger/,copy clocktopia.ttf from next post to this directory in sdcard. when you open font changer it should scan and show you have clocktopia. I recommend unchecking quick restart in font changer settings. click on advanced, click on DroidSerif-Regular.ttf and choose to replace it with clocktopia.ttf. choose apply and reboot later, then reboot manually. (works better I think) that's it about it, when you change a font; it says it makes a back up and that you can long press on the changed font and choose to restore original. If it does not restore original font, choose to uninstall app from within font changer settings, and it will restore all original fonts.
Please let me know what you think, and I would like to see a screenie of portrait lockscreen.
Known issues: on low res/mdpi I have noticed in stock email I get large buttons for options at bottom of screen. Many images for mdpi I used hdpi where I could. These are the only 3 buttons I have seen so far, and they are actually seem much better big anyways. This Im sure can be fixed If theres enough interest. I put a lot of work and time into this.
Thats about it enjoy!
screenshots are at stock 160dpi, I use 210.
see post#97 and #99 for blue status bar clock MOD. (#97 is full theme, the other is clock Mod only.)

v0.6.1: volume and seek bars slimmed down and changed to green like real HC. From now on, unless I edit services.jar, the .zip in 1st post will have BLUEclock in status bar, the White Stock .zip is in post #99, if you want to revert, just flash that. More updates planned, stay tuned.
v0.6.0 Removed date from pull down and changed status bar clock font..please see first post for more info and instructions. See last two screenshots in this post for update. This is flashing services.jar, so give it 5 minutes to boot.
v0.5.9: Without carrier version only now. changed pulldown to all black so it crops right at all lcd densities. changed all mdpi lockscreen icons to standard mdpi 64px.
v0.5.8, dark blue sliders! had to edit .xml, I thought for sure they were a .9.png. Getting the hang of this. Next I think I will remove am/pm from status bar clock, might change the color too..
v0.5.7 All Black Status bar, nice new usb icon to go with that, and pull down all black with bee.
v0.5.6NoCarrier updated: removed carrier text from drop down menu. File size increased so had to host it.
v0.5.5: Both versions: mostly resized mdpi stuff including vibrate lock screen tab icon, change some menu press highlights, and changed search bar size in mdpi. NO Carrier on Lockscreen!!, still on pull down until I get it to build...Still cant find the damn large email buttons on stock email on hdpi, see know issues: not really a huge issue. Hope you all enjoy it!!
v0.5.3NoCarrier:**update: fixed no charging battery** added, no carrier in status bar. Will look into removing it elsewhere. <finally understand how to edit xml and update; not as easy as it would seem there are steps missing that I normally wouldn't think of.>
v0.5.3 changed data icons (eg. 3G, H Edge to match light blue honeycomb). [IF you ever get a system force close on startup, just pull battery and should boot normally. Maybe a good idea to clear cache after this]
v.0.5.1 changed a few icon, home icon from ginger to honeycomb, changed button to proper proportion, and changed volum bars colors to.a darker blue and removed ugly disabled button backgrounds
v0.4 White on Black Menus! Enormous thanks to TheManii for help with this. Really breaks ground to hopefully more themes/mods/etc. Thank You!
v3 uploaded.. trying glowing sound jog tabs, best I could do at the moment, should be better, but jog tab vibrate looks better with glow.
If .zip is unavailable, wait a few minutes or check back later should be updated, Thanks!
nice!!!!!thanks
sure, no prob. (well, a little hassle, but a learning experience.) looks so much better than stock. gotta have it.
Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!
Nice work Chris!
While I probably won't be installing this theme (got things the way I like em now) it looks outstanding. The Google search is a work of art. I would love to install just that on my home screen.
Keep up the great work
kraz
a little searching you could have found them.
I found these a while back,
on xda I think..
only will work on deodexed ROM I believe. backup and delete originals, rename and place new themed ones in /system/app. Set permissions to same as all other /system/apps, and reboot and they will install.
Tip: the google search one can be tricky.before moving it into system make sure its not named same as stock. after moving, rename it. If the icon changes to a stock "g" logo for the application, it wont work, this one is strange.
Geez Chris...What can't you do?!!
GoogleSearchBox looks great and works well on my Simple Streak 1.2 odexed device. No problems installing it either.
Seriously...THANK YOU!!!
kraz
I had searched for them many months ago and came up empty. forgot about it until I saw your screenies.
Holy crap! You themed EVERYTHING! Very nice work, beautiful job. I love the extra splash of color you gave even the home menu (Add, Wallpaper, Search, Settings, etc).
Here is that portrait screen cap. Looks very nice.
did the honeycomb font not stick? it should have. you also use font changer to edit Clocktopia. and the sound slider I might have to downsize a bit you can see the transparent square jog tab
You know I flashed that straight over top of my BlueStreak5 theme and I guess it didn't give me the HC font on the clock. Everything else looked great, pop up window color, scroll bar color. I did notice the volume slider on the lock screen has a bit of square halo that was only really noticeable on the super dark HC wallpaper.
Awww... when I flashed back to BlueStreak5, it didn't keep your pop window theme, power menu, home menu, etc. I was hoping it would
new update coming shortly, updates jog tabs glow, less boxxy as well
How about the battery with a percentage.

Do u think u can remove carrier in the notification bar?? I feel it takes up too much space

Hello everybody, this is my first theme, and I hope it's a good enough product for XDA and the Streak 5 community!
I have been forced by circumstances to stop all hobby projects for some time, and unfortunately this includes this theme. If anyone has the time and wants to continue work on this theme, or just to make a theme starting from this one, he/she is free to do so, as long as the people I have thanked here in the thread as well as myself are credited. Once again, thank you _n0p_ for a good ROM and I apologize for leaving my work unfinished.
Before I start, I want to thank _2bad4u_, nickshertzer and tenorntex for letting me use PNG's from their MattedBlues theme, the original MattedBlues theme creators for their theme, Google for a much improved interface for Android after version 4.0, LG for their smart (IMO) mod of white popups and backgrounds, and _n0p_ most for the most complete ROM for Streak, and the best performing one. (_n0p_, if you could add longpress-back-key-to-kill-app functionality from CM in DSC, I'll owe you a big case of beer.)
NOTE
This theme is made for DSC (1.5 currently) running in MDPI Portrait. I didn't test extensively in Landscape, but so far I didn't find any bugs that weren't already there in Portrait, so I guess it's ok. I have NOT tested any other GB ROM, DSC version, or other DPI, and I DO NOT guarantee that it will work if you flash this theme on anything other than DSC 1.5.
Installation Instructions
I am a noob with the more complicated stuff, so I went for the simplest solution I could find. In post #3 are .zip files that contain the framework, systemui and settings app. Just flash the suitable zip using Streakmod Recovery and you're good to go. USE ONLY ONE ZIP. The difference between them is explained in the Bugs post.
DESCRIPTION
As some of you probably agree, stock GB looks like crap, stock ICS looks much better. So I started making a theme for DSC, my ROM of choice, that would fulfill (most of) my aesthetic and functional ideals. However, this is an ICS-inspired theme, not an attempt to replicate that interface style, so please don't ask me to copy ICS, because that's not what I'm trying to do. I follow my own guidelines (listed below) when doing this theme, and some of them are actually the opposite of stock ICS.
Main Features
Starting from the ICS look, I want the theme to have the following characteristics:
MDPI base, because on our device, in HDPI, a lot of apps take too much screen space with interface elements, and this lowers the amount of useful information on screen
All white popups (windows, dialogs, popup menus, toasts) with black text, because IMO black on white is easier to see in direct sunlight , given the same screen brightness and text size, and we don't have LED screens so the battery drain isn't any higher. Also, popups should be obvious and clearly visible, either because they were brought up by the user, or because they were brought up by Android and contain useful information
Blue text (on black) for titles, hints and other text that can't be interacted with (pressed, copied), to better distinguish from black or white text, that can be copied, pressed or otherwise interacted with
Clear text hierarchy: Main (application) title (largest), Category title (large), Main text, buttons (medium), subtext/note/description (small)
Secondary modifications
There is also a number of smaller scale modifications, that include but are not limited to
Bigger text on buttons, because MDPI makes it too small on our device
Bigger text in Recent Applications, because it takes up the whole screen anyway
Thin volume/seek bars, ICS Style, with handle (not in the Music app, because the app isn't themed)
Modded Settings app for ICS Icons
Modded Quick Toggles from the DSC ROM to suit the theme, added overscroll effect
Modded gradient background
ICS notification icons
New menu popup icons
Replaced radio buttons with check buttons, for consistency
Increased text size in popup menus to Medium (from small), decreased text size from the "more" popup menu to Medium (from large). (Why were they different in stock GB?? It's basically the same menu!)
Hidden the Notifications and Ongoing titles from Notifications (but not the separators), because they are useless, every Android user knows which is which, and the notifications are already full of text most of the time
more stuff I don't remember now but you'll find out!
SCREENSHOTS
KNOWN BUGS
I have modified quite a few things for this theme, so a few bugs are to be expected. Here are listed the known bugs, and below I attached screenshots.
1. The stock phone app has some trouble with backgrounds other than black, as far as I can tell. In the screenshots you see a black square behind the "call" icon in the call log. It can be fixed using a non-transparent icon that covers that entire space, but since I'm using exDialer (MIUI fan!) with the white ICS theme, this fix was low on my priority list. I will add it in a later version for those who want the stock phone app, but I recommend you use another dialer/contacts app if the theme is important, because I will not theme other apps than the ones already themed. I don't have a lot of time and I've already worked more than I wanted to do this theme.
2. The stock alarm clock app also has problems with the gradient background. The alarm times are not visible in portrait, only in landscape (it's visible in the screenshots). You can turn the alarms on and off, and if you press the bugged area where the alarm time used to be, it still takes you to the alarm edit screen, where there are no bugs, so it's only the alarm selection screen that has bugs. I won't be theming this app either, so again I suggest using a different alarm app if you want to have the gradient background.
3. The email app overlaps 1 bigger and 1 smaller activity title bar. I don't know why, and I haven't used the stock theme since I started working on this one to know if the problem was there before. Again, I won't be theming this app either, so there probably won't be any fixes coming from me.
4. Not really a bug, but in some apps the popup menus use some of their own icons and some of the icons from the framework you have installed. In most cases they won't be the same and will look like crap together, and there's no fix (that I know of) other than theming all the other apps (which I won't do). Below is a screenshot of the issue in Terminal Emulator.
5. Mismatched light bottom popup. I couldn't track down the problem, and now I won't be able to.
BUG FIXES
A fix for the clock and phone, for those who do not want to use alternate phone or clock apps, is to eliminate the gradient background and revert to the stock black background. Until I find an alternative fix, I will attach 2 zips for each release version, a black background and a gradient background. Other than that there is no difference between them.
BUG REPORTING
If you find a bug, either in stock apps or in other apps, and you are sure it's my theme that causes the problem and not a problem with the app itself, then please report here. A screenshot would be most helpful as well. Bugs include white on white, black on black or grey on grey text (popups aren't perfectly white, so white text could still be visible, and black text should be visible on grey popups)
Releases
Releases
Current version: 0.6b for DSC 1.5
v0.6b changelog:
-Grey panel_background png, used for USSD popup and Root Explorer permissions popup, for example, is now white
-minor color modifications
-bottom part of popup fixed
As stated in the Bugs post, "gradient_background_vXX.zip" is the full theme, while "black_background_vXX.zip" uses the stock black background to eliminate the phone and alarm clock bugs. Flash either one using Streakmod, over DSC 1.5.
Great job, i like it, make's wanna come back to dsc. Because it's a great rom, and now it's looking like ics. Great job.

Both framework-res and systemUI are missing META-INF folder with manifest. This will cause system to bootloop (no rights in system) right from start, or if you are lucky, after factory reset
Simply copy that folder from original.

Fixed! It always booted fine for me, so I never checked, I completely forgot. Thanks! I'll be using your install procedure from now on.
Edit: I just tested and saw the message the install script shows. Very cool, thank you. I always wanted something like that!

I'm sorry, but to port the theme to CM based ROMs is like starting over, as far as I know. I need to take a look at it to be sure. It's too much to do for the little time I have at the moment. Maybe I'll look into it once the theme goes into a more final stage. Right now I'm trying to track down all the bugs and make the last few popups white.
Sorry, i forgot to mention that you need to also copy AndroidManifest.xml from source.
I will try to diff and create a zip mod for your theme.
This will free us from recreating the theme for framework/system apps changes.
Yo all,
If you did not follow all of my off-topic posts on the cm7 thread lately, here's my little x-mas present for you...
I've been asked a couple times if I could regroup all of the cm7 tweaks and mods in one spot so here it is!
It's no an exhaustive list as it mainly covers the stuff from the last 2-3 months; I did what I could on this with the limited time I had for this today.., but I think it's a good start and that it should keep you guys busy for a while anyway. I also did this for my own personal recollection and for future quick reference and access.
Notes:
- I always do my best to give credits to whoever it is due, but if I forgot to do it anywhere, please let me know and I'll do the correction.
- Please play it safe and before you try any of this, make (nand) backups, undo zips and remember that you do it at your own risk.
- As usual, please do not full-quote my long posts.
So here we go:
Tips on how to Remove Ads from apk
How to disable Search button tweak
1- Faster screen orientation rotation tweak AND 2- ZipAlign at boot (zip included)
How to enable lockscreen rotation tweak
Battery fix for red lenses Defy - [for Defy+ build installs] (zip included)
My thread on How to Make Your Phone a Little Safer - The Easy Way [using hosts file]
My mod on how to increase the attachment size limit of default cm7 Email.apk
App suggestion: an alternative task switcher (in notification panel)
...I'm working on this but app has problems so READ THE NOTES CAREFULLY
How to use (some) of the JB screen transition animations to cm7
How to use the ICS style date/time/day layout in notification panel on cm7(and remove date from statusbar when its expanded)
And one post above, the OP of my own (WizAL) cm7 theme thread
Note on recompiling the phone apk [this one is basically a reminder for myself]
My Cm7's Phone.apk mod for bigger contact picture (zip attached) AND
Mms.apk with 7-line max compose window size + no smiley key on KB (zip att.)
My thread on tips and tricks regarding PDroid (increased your private info security)
Cm7's Mms.apk with bigger/better quality mms pic attachments (zip attached) AND an
alternative Mms.apk with same tweak (zip attached also) [credits to llamatron]
2 must-have apps suggestion to increase privacy/security on your phone
How to use a custom script in order to get Droidwall to work while using DroidVPN (read post#2)
How to get my favorite text font
OK well, that was basically what I could put together from the latest 1/5th of all my posts here on xda...
For sure there are some missing and I also have a few new ones and writeups in mind; so we'll see what future holds in this regards.
But if you want more, you can start by reading through my threads; this one for example has quite a few tweaks and apks included. And on post #2, there's a guide on how to make the statusbar transparent [although still on my todo list is to add to it a guide on properly create/modify patch-9 pngs - coz I still see quite a few people having problems with that ]
* * * MOST IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THE END: * * *
Some of the old (pre-September 2012) flashable zips I've posted might, or rather, will no longer work on recent cm7 builds. So PLEASE READ THIS and find out how to correct/redo them to work properly:
My thread on how to make CWM recovery flashable zips
Sorry, but I will not go through 900+ posts and redo all my zips... at least not now.
So let's all rejoice that we've survived 2012 doomsday, I wish a merry x-mas and happy holidays season to all of you.
Cheers,

Thanks again!
This is/was another very easy tweak to do.... well... I mean, I still had to experiment a lot in order to get it right...
And even though it is not perfect either: since I did this very simply, [i.e. did not redo the app layout appart from contact pic size] the call status on the right side [what replaces the call duration timer] might get truncated in some occasions. So for example, you might see: "on ho" D) or something similar when placing the call on hold... No biggy for me since my theme has a coloured statusbar icon for that and even custom dialer background color for it... but I just wanted to tell people..
I'm sure that you know how to find out what I did, but for other members; all there was to do for this is:
In the Phone.apk's res\layout\call_card_person.xml
Change this:
Code:
<RelativeLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="172.0dip">
<ImageView android:id="@id/photo" android:background="@drawable/incall_photo_border_lg" android:layout_width="172.0dip" android:layout_height="166.0dip" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:contentDescription="@string/contactPhoto" />
To:
Code:
<RelativeLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="[COLOR="Red"]248[/COLOR].0dip">
<ImageView android:id="@id/photo" android:background="@drawable/incall_photo_border_lg" android:layout_width="[COLOR="red"]248.0[/COLOR]dip" android:layout_height="[COLOR="red"]240.0[/COLOR]dip" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:contentDescription="@string/contactPhoto" />
Note that anything bigger and you'll have more layout overlaps and it gets uggly
And you probably know the also excellent software Winmerge useful to compare two files or even two folders...
And as I'm sure you are aware that, Google Sync limits the size of contacts pictures to 96x96px on Gingerbread; so anything too big will look pixelated. Personally, I do not sync my contact pics with Google, so bigger size in the dialer looks fine [as long as my original contact pics are of a reasonable size].
OK well, enough on this tweak.
Cheers.
Just added a link to this (Pendo's Transparent Market + no update mod, very nice inverted calendar, ..) on the OP

I could but doing it for you would not help you learn anything... And I already gave a hand, an arm and a leg writing a detailed guide about it... Have you read/tried any of it? Please read the first post again, find where I gave a link related to your question and read some more.. If you have problems then, at least try to figure out which file from YOUR phone has to be modded and post it on THAT thread.
Thanks for your understanding...
Try to see it from my side...: it seems that the more I give, the more people ask to be spoon fed...

Please do your part first and experiment; you'll be glad you did once you succeed. Just nand backup first...
Added an update for Droidwall to work properly on 3G networks (bottom of OP).
...and a couple others ine earlier which I did not feel the need to post about again...
But the Droidwall one might be very usefull to some...

Hi!
I made a Jelly Bean inspired Theme for the new rom: CyanMobile eXperience [2.3.8][MB526]
Instructions:
- download the file
- copy to your SD Card
- install it with File Manager
- go to ThemeChooser, and apply
- ignore the warning, apply anyway
- REBOOT!!!
- after that, just use Your Phone!
If You find some bugs, errors or something, just report me here in post, or send me a private message! If You can, make a screenshot, so it is easier to find, what is the problem!
There are two different files, one for CyanMobile Experience, and one for "pure" CM7.
If You use some of CM7 version, than download: JBT v1.2
If You use CyanMobile Experience, than download: JBTEX v1.1
Here are a lot of screenshot for CM7 version and here for CyanMobile !
If You have any question, suggestion, support, or anything else, just find the way to do it!
hi,
it looks really nice but the system ui stat icons for off (e.x.com_android_systemui_stat_2g3g_off.png) are to dark, i can see it on the status bar is it possible to make it brighter?
the signal png never go blue and i have a H connection.
i use the maniac cm7 rom.
thnaks for your work
smoky
I updated the Theme, You can download here: JBT v1.1
Now the power widget OFF color is the same, as the icons on the statusbar. It is more visible on Sunshine
Edit: At ThemeChooser, it's no preview screen. It's a windows bug.
Edit_2: The H connection problem: I don't know, what is the problem, I tryed it now, and at me everything looks good. Anyone else, who has the problem, that the signal bars don't go blue? (see attached file below)
plzz....support mdpi
thanks
MDPI
It's difficult, to support MDPI size. I made this theme for my Defy, an it's HDPI, so the theme is also HDPI ONLY!
And why? Because when I change something, I can verify that looks good, it fits, the color or something is good or not.
Unfortunately I don't have any phone with mdpi screen, so I can't test. That is the reason for HDPI only.
Hi there, I'm using it on my Defy+ (with CMX) atm, and I love it.
Thank you
I have, one simple question thou. I happen to have a little bit diffrent color (cyan) than the one your screenshoot (lightblue).
All I found was how to change color of diffrent items, or global font color, but...
Is there easy way to change the whole color setup so it would look exactly like on the screenshoot? Oh, and btw, may I know the hex code for that lightblue color of yours?

Hi!
Ideally the color change automatically, but in CMX I find this bug too, but for me was just the lockscreen, what doesn't changed the color. If You go to Settings (I use now euroskank, so sorry, if I don't remember exactly where You sould go), CyanMobile Settings - Interface tweaks - Status bar tweaks - here You find a lot of "xyz color" , and the hex code is the right color ( ff33b5e5 ), just the system can't change. Just choose the option, that you want to change the color, then pick in the middle of the color circle, and it will be change!
The colors, what I used, is the same as find HERE, but what You looking for is: 33b5e5 !
Thanks, looks great
Great theme, could you change the color text of the "state" of the sms? I mean, Sent at 13:28, because I use the black wallpaper in mms.apk, and the color text is black, so I can't see it, im using CM7, thanks.
Thanks for reporting, I changed the color to blue. The new version have some minor updates too.
Download:
JBT v1.2
JBTEX v1.1
I changed the files in the first post too.

i have wildfire ( ldpi ) and its good theme for my phone
but a problem with program |: phone.apk
the numbers are very big in dialer and are not fit wiz screen
and i think beautiful and smaller signal bars can make the theme more awsome
nice.
Thanks!
Change the color for incoming notification. Blue on black is hard to read.
