Need ICS ftf for Mti5a not Mt15i - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

I Need ICS ftf for MTi5a not MT15i.
Can anyone provide me one?
Please don't ask why I won't like Mt15i ftf
if you can give me than post or don't post saying "Why..............."

Unless you HAVE to flash an MT15a firmware (for warranty or something like that), you can flash any MT15i normally.
Sadly AFAIK there's no MT15a official ICS yet, I have an unlocked MT15a and my SI number still doesn't show on the talk page at sony mobile

Well, I am running MT15i ICS but I really want MT15a ICS.
I searched MY SI but No Update is available
Hope IT will Come Soon.

Thanks a Lot Mate
You really are a great helper.
MT15i ftf caused some network issue for me like data drop sometime etc
Also I really miss some app like Mcafee security suite
Gonna Download it tonight.
BTW, Is this ROM pre-Rooted?
and which Kernel do you suggest for this one?

Hi,
No, This Rom is original Sony rom without root. You can root it the sameway as MT15i rom in 5 minutes.
Currently, i'm using the stock kernel without any problem. BTW, my bootloader is locked, so i can't change the kernel before unlocking bootloader.
Sent from my MT15a using Tapatalk

Ok, Gonna Root is myself
BTW, I unlocked my Bootloader so No problem for me to install any Kernel
Again thanks

Need ftf 4.0.4 MT15a Generic trade Brazil to flash with flashtools, because SUS and PC Companion not work for me.
Sorry my bad english.

MT15i cause some error on MT15a NEo.
I suggest everybody to Flash correct Version.
MT15a ICS is working fine but MT15i really gave me a hard time

I searched for this in this site and I found this way :

I like this way because it's easy and safe without any complicated steps like flashing
But it didn't work with this firmware
I want to root because the screen is too dark and I want to disable the light sensor of the device.
I'm new in this site and I want the easiest way to do this....
Anyone can help???
Thanks...

I downgraded the firmware from wotanserver.com to 4.0.2.A.0.42
It's easy !
Then I rooted my phone by this way:

There is no way to root .62 for now.

First unlock the bootloader the SE way.
Then flash the rage kernel with flash tool and you are automatically rooted.
.
It worked for me with .62..
Try it.

hm.. but update service will give him .62 not .42, right? or are you thinking on making prerooted image? hm now i got idea
@ prazadx: are you willing to do clean flash with pc companion or sony update service, then we'll instruct you how to make .62 .ftf, but it will be around 150MB after you zip it, wich you would need to upload..
then if your phone is sim-lock free your fastboot should be open, and it should accept prerooted .img.
even if your bootloader is locked i think it only matter for kernels.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong
its here mate
Just flash this with flashtool (extract using winzip or eqivalent first to get the ftf), root using flashtool, update OTR, install cmw and you are fine.

I'm gonna perform this flashing with flashtool. all i need is to downgrade my current firmware to .42, so that i can root my device. also this is a sim lock free device with a locked bootloader.
is there any other way to root without downgrading??
also, thanks mate..
There are another way to root but you need to unlock your bootloader, sorry I cant put links, but if you search right here in this Forum "unlock bootloader" you would see the options to do that.
Definitly this way is the only you have without unlockink bl. Thats all the peoplo say because I cant flash .42 on mine....flashtool stop always before 100% I will format pc...i dont know what other thing can be.

You are able to flash custome kernels as long as you have unlocked bootloader, if you relock it youll only be able to flash stock kernels via flashtool, correct me someone if I'm wrong

If you relock your bootloader after flashing stock rom (which I think is neccessary for updating to official ics BUT I'm not sure) you need to unlock it again and then you'll be able to flash new kernels.

But you need not lock your bootloader. You can download flashtool and then flash the ftf files that you will get here in XdA as soon as the update is released. So that way your bootloader remains unlocked, and yet you will be running 4.0.4.

Agree. relocking is neccessary for OTA updates & since ICS wouldn't be over the air so you don't need to relock your bootloader. But I prefer to keep my bootloader locked when I'm on stock rom because there might be some OTA updates in the future

How to update rooted mini to 4.1.B.0.587?

Hello,
I have 4.1.B.0.431 on my xperia mini.
I found this on sony update......
"Make sure your device has the latest software so you can enjoy optimal performance and all of its features.
Latest available software: 4.1.B.0.587
Release date: 2012-08-16"
And here is my problem.
I have rooted device how do i update to 4.1.B.0.587 and keep my root?
It would be nice if someone packed the bundle of joy. (firmware, flash tool )
Im talking about all stock.
If you haven't unlocked your bootloader then you can just update via seus without any problem but I'm sure you'll lose your root . If you have unlocked your bootloader the official way then seus itself won't allow you to update your device. It'll throw an error saying you've modified your firmware so it's not possible to get the update. If it's a fota update and you just have rooted your device (bootloader is LOCKED) then go ahead and update you'll just lose your root privileges. IF YOU HAVE UNLOCKED YOUR BOOTLOADER OFFICIALLY AND IT'S A FOTA UPDATE THEN PLEASE DON'T UPDATE YOUR DEVICE VIA FOTA IT'LL POSSIBLY BRICK YOUR DEVICE! If you want to flash clean untouched firmware before update then see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792
And see this for flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351309
And see this for retaining your root status http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514 this is for.431 firmware but I'm sure it'll work for .587 too. And before posting please do search the forum. The question you've asked has been answered a lot of time .

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that Sony offer ftf files for download...
But anyway, try this: http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239
or: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897749

The easiest way is to install a kernel that auto-roots e.g. the rage kernel and then when using flashtool select to exclude the kernel. It'll update everything and root any firmware

I'm from Germany, too and you can use any ftf for your device and it'll work great. Just use maybe the generic world...
Otherwise do it with seus and build the downloaded files to an ftf like gouthamthemostwanted said

my current firmware is a Custom Firmware ICS with xperia NXT launcher... i dont belive that this will be reperable by SUS
hm... ill try with wine
Maybe mihahn can help. PM mihahn. He is from Germany so he can get you German firmware through seus. Moreover you don't always get the latest firmware from seus, if you have gingerbread in your device and hit repair in seus, it will ONLY DOWNLOAD THE GINGERBREAD FIRMWARE.
Edit: mihahn posted while I was typing
Hit thanks if I helped you.
