You can get it in the market but there are issues with double notifications. I have a post building right now under Themes & Apps that has the APK to move to System/App to replace the Touchwiz one. It will be up within an hour.
If you hove clockwork mod you can go into recovery and go under advanced and fix permissions and see if that helps

I don't think you can just get the widgets.
Widgets are a part of the launcher.
I have the stook Rom, bought phone off of craigslist and he removed many stook apps, so I just want them back

Yes, he took the stock Rom and removed many pre loaded apps with a root uninstaller. He wasn't kind enough to have a backup so I just need the apks

Grab any of the 2.2 ROMs with Touchwiz, and just pull the apks for the ones you want from /system/app. You can install them with root explorer or by pushing them with adb.

Its a pain trying to move pages of icons into order, takes me agesssss.

Just view it in list mode? I tend to put my favourite apps on the 1st page then jump into list mode for anything else

I dont like list mode.
On the sgs1, i could just clear data for touchwiz in manage applications and it would set them all alphabetically.
Unfortunatly, this doesnt work on the SGS2.

Use touchwiz appsorter from the market.
If u rooted ur phone u can download

I found a thread leading me to the AOSP calendar apk which "works" but doesn't contain the widget nor does it allow me to select which calendars to sync as it force closes.
Does anyone know how to get the AOSP calendar AND widget along with full functionality?

The aosp calendar doesnt have a month view widget only a little 1x1 for upcoming events, you will need to find something on the market for that, android pro widgets is a good one.
It doesn't have a month view but it's 2x1 not 1x1. Using the one from above still gives me the Samsung Agenda widget which I hate.
I've tried that one and I still get a FC every time I try to modify the calendars. You don't?

Nope no force closes here. What rom are u using? Did u set permissions correctly when u pushed it to system?
Android pro widgets from the market gives a good calendar widget and its free.

If I install a rom such as pure ics and install the Gapps file from cm9 thread, will it give me aosp apps such as dialer and contacts?
If not, is there any aosp rom or one that looks like galaxy nexus? I don't like cm9, but I like its aosp apps and general non Samsung feeling

No. It'll just install gmaps and the market, etc. Download cm9, unzip it and extract the phone/sms/whatever apk and put them in your system/app folder, then reboot.

That won't work as AOSP messaging and dialer etc won't work with the standard Samsung framework.

You would need a new mms app the has sms-mms in the settings and adjust those settings to fit your needs. I've only found one so far and it has a transparent background. It doesn't play nice with the roms that are getting new updates. This is the apk file. You have to side load it, fix permissions, reboot.
Use it at your own risk. Works great on some roms,
