so i have been trying out rom toolbox lite, i have ran into a lil snag of sorts. i have tried installing a custom notification background but when it reboots its not installed. i have tried to install it from CWM and it tells me the installation is aborted. im not sure if its a premium setting to be able to use them or if its just a corrupted file. any help ?
Happens with me but i do not recommend trying to change any status icons as it soft bricks the phone

OK. I have been able to use the boot animations with no issues at all.

Try wiping cache and dalvik cache in cwm.
Tried that. Keeps saying installation aborted. Idk if maybe its a bad download or what. Boot animations install perfectly. Starting to wonder if its just a pro version extra

In the lite version, if you select a premium setting you will be asked to purchase the premium version. You would definitely know if it's a premium setting. You do need to be running a deoxed rom though (with Busybox I believe). What exactly are you attempting to install with CWM, as ROM Toolbox is packaged as an apk.
Tried downloading a notification background. In the app it says it downloaded and installed then asks to reboot. I reboot and its not installed. Tried it through cwm and it keeps telling me installation aborted. Tried doing the wipe davlik and data cache but still nothing so I figured it was a premium option.

You have to select reinstall packages, and it will go to the blue recovery again, then press reinstall packages again and clockwork should boot up everytime.
So i just have to keep on reinstalling packages until cwm works?? I think i will lose my superuser etc.. What zip file do i have to put on my intrnal card?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Once u are rooted you done need update.zip for root
What if i already rooted my phone using super one click root on my froyo 2.2? Do I still have to update? By update.zip?

After you used super one click root, delete that update.zip file that it places in your internal memory.
Then download rom manager, click flash clockwork-mod recovery and it should say boot into the blue recovery. In there click reinstall packages, and if it takes yiu to the blue screen again, click reinstall packages one more time and you should boot into clockwork from now on.
Ok thank you master and slave one more question do I still have to install the unzip thing from my internal sd? Or not a any more?

Since you are on 2.2, you need the modified 3e recovery. Then you should be able to get into CWM.
Or you can just use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509 and Odin back to 2.1 and not have any issues updating your ROM.
Reading all the guides helps alot with these questions.

The method I was giving you was for 2.1
Its easier to root from 2.1.
But the thread above should help
Another route around 3e recovery is to use a Voodoo kernel, because those have CWM baked right in. I recommend this because for whatever reason I couldn't get modded 3e recovery working.

I have tried to flash Darian's rom and cherry blur v.5 and both have resulted in my atrix getting stuck at the "Dual Core technology" screen with "unlocked" at the top. If I reflash the stock gingerbread rom ive been using it works. Ive flashed with cwm both times. I can fix it by reflashing via fastboot to the gingerbread rom i initially flashed to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163342. Both times I attempted flashing, i tried using a nandroid backup to restore but both times I get an error formatting /system.
I also tried reflashing cwm and got the same results. Any ideas what could be causing this?
Edit: so ive been tinkering...there is something wrong with the /data. I am unable to flash the data.img from the original rom as well as format the data through cwm.
If you got error formatting system the reason is you have a outdated CWM.
Bet you have a older version.
Does your cwm img file say this?
recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029.img
If not u have a old version update it.

Ah great call. Reflashing now.
I'm having trouble installing any rom using CWM I've even tried 2.x and no luck their either.
I do a full data wipe and all the basics before flashing the rom
I'm trying to install either the Roms Vanilla GB by JT or OMFGB and each time I get this error
E:Error in sdcard/(name of rom)
Status 7
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Try using the cwm4 fixed which can be dowloaded directly from the cm7 op by jt1134. Flash it with odin first. After you replace battery, three finger salute into the new recovery and flash from there.

Hey, does your phone boot up in cwm ? If not then your not rooted, please verify. You need cwm recovery to install a custom rom.

Hi hassanalsaibai,
Yes it does boot into CWM recovery and i can select the custom rom to intall but as soon as it starts to install is says E:signature verification failed but the blue installation line near the bottom continues to install. It will then stop and nothing else will happen i will leave it for abit longer and see if it continues to install.

Try wiping cache, and dalvik cache -- and check if the ROM description has NO WIPE . If it doesn't have a no wipe feature then you will have to wipe your device.
Bad firmware download redownload .
Nothing at all to do with wiping and their is no you have to wipe your device involved .

So I'm rooting my best friend's Vibrant, which is on Froyo. I did all the workarounds needed to root while on Froyo and I managed to root the phone and get recovery running (the reinstall packages one). But, I've been trying to install CM11 from recovery and it doesn't let me. First, whenever I picked the zip to install it, it would throw me with the Status 0 error, so either the zip was corrupt or the CWM was too old. So, I downloaded another CM11 and it still threw me the same error, which meant the problem was recovery. With the AIO toolbox, I managed to get a newer recovery running, but when I select the zip it says it couldn't mount /sdcard. And then /sdcard becomes unreadable in recovery until I reboot the phone. /Sdcard can be read fine when booted into the OS so I don't think it's the encryption bug. But, I can't install any ROM, and can't find any other CWM image that's more recent or maybe a TWRP image. What to do?
