Bad advice.
@ OP
If you can go into odin mode, simply flash Siyah kernel and then you should be able to go into recovery or even probably boot into your rom. Try this before flashing a stock rom over your old.
If you dont care/need your current rom/data etc then flashing stock rom over is fine.
PS. In future look at the Q&A section or use search first, there are plenty of topics on "my phone wont boot" discussion so no need for another. Also use descriptive titles, not silly ones like this that dont describe your topic to browsers of forum in any way.

As stated, you need to use search and always give a better title than 'help needed please'. Advice has been given, thread closed.
So I spent the morning following directions on how to root and flash Clockwork Mode on to my Bell Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747. The reason I was following this procedure was because my phone has a battery issue. So I downloaded the apparent patch and wanted to install it. Apparently the phone's standby power draw is set to 34 mha as opposed to 3.4 mha. So I correctly installed CWM and rooted the phone, then transferred the ZIP battery patch to my SDcard, only to not be able to install it because my phone won't boot into CWM mode.....it won't even boot into standard recovery mode.
Question: Why is it that when I hold down the volume up+home+power, the phone turns on for a split second and says SAMSUNG in the middle and "recovery mode" (I think as it happens so fast) in the upper left corner but then the screen goes black and I can't do anything unless I remove the battery. After that it will boot into download mode or turn on normally. Any IDEAS PLEASE!?
Question .
Why are you asking in the wrong forum this is I9300 forum .

I was aware that this was the I9300 forum...I only asked the question in here as I was unable to locate a forum for the version I have.
So if I did in fact flash the wrong firmware, all I have to do is get the right firmware and flash it again right? Sorry if these questions seem amateurish...I just want to be sure. Thanks again

Thanks again....i did some more reading and it looks like lots of other people have been having a similar problem with their recovery screen coming up for only a split second then going dark. Apparently it's all about letting go of the buttons at the right time.
However, that being said, if you have time, could you possibly direct me to a site where I can find the proper firmware to root and install CWM on my phone? It's a Canadian (International) Bell Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747. This would help me to verify if in fact I did install the correct firmware. Again thanks and sorry about all the questions!

Where is the proper Bell Galaxy S III forum? Why wouldn't you just say where it is or ask the thread be moved instead of just doing that. You didn't help anyone find the proper forum yet.

Re: JJE (or anyone with an answer)
JJE,
I'm still looking for the proper forum and the correct firmware (although I do believe I flashed the right firmware). My phone is a CANADIAN Bell Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH I747....I am dying to solve my battery issue.,..."Cell STandBy" is taking up like 67% of my battery....it's ridiculous.

Hey everyone, I just tried to root my Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9305 and I believe that I used the wrong rom (for I9300). Ever since I rooted it I can't use the phone, whenever I turn it on it just goes straight to the "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!". I can't exit download mode (tried pressing volume up+power+home) All I can do is re-enter download mode by pressing volume down+power+home. Please help! What should I do? I don't know where to start and I really hope I haven't turned my precious into an expensive doorstop.
Try reflash stock rom I9305

First you posted on the wrong forum the I9305 has a separate Q & A thread. Onto though your problem though... your phone is on a semi-brick state since it can still boot into download mode so there's still hope... what I can recommend you to do is that you flash a stock rom this time make sure its for the I9305 branch and not the I9300 one just go to Sammobile and search. If that still fails then better wait for a more experienced user to give you a possible fix as i don't own an I9305 one.
It seems hard to find the stock rom on sammobile for the I9305, I'm aware I'm a complete noob when it comes to this stuff but usually I'm pretty good at finding these things... Has anyone got a link to it?

@JJEgan
You should've just posted the link of the firmware section of Sammobile and not copy paste it as a whole... look it's all messy and much more confusing.

Success!!
I was in a similar situation to our unfortunate friend, biggyjurss. I nearly gave up all hope of ever restoring my phone (SIII GT-19305) to the way it was. I really didn't think there was any way back from being stuck in the download screen that will still haunt me the rest of my days. With everyone's help, I managed to restore everything to the way it was!!!! **** YEEEAAHH! I have learnt a valuable lesson in not to EVER attempt rooting a phone again unless I really know what I am doing and I have done my research. I want to thank everyone on this thread for helping me out!
i'm having this exact same problem after doing the exact same mistakes and nothing seems to be helping. I've already wiped everything from the phone and tried Kies to getting the phone back to stock, but Kies just crashes in the process. I can also get to the boot menu and to the download menu, but nothing helps. The phone just keeps coming back to the downloading screen. Please help :crying: I thought there would be no trouble with rooting your phone since every site just said how easy it is...
THANK YOU!
I made the same error (flashed i9300 instead of i9305), and got stuck too.
Tried flashing the rooted i9305 to no avail.
Had to cross my fingers hoping that my laptop's BSOD doesn't come when I was downloading the stock off Sammobile. (I get intermittent BSODs, usually because of the heat. My laptop is old.)
It's now working again after flashing the stock firmware.
Thank you all, once again!

I do not have the Korean model, but understand your present moment of craziness. I am sorry if I may not b able to provide you with actual technical support. however, if you find someone that can help here, they might need a bit more information. I have looked at the thread and wow, flashing is a bit more involved with you model.
don't get offended when I ask you some very basic questions here, many times it is something so simple and was simply overlooked. I thought that I had read somewhere else that the screen you posted was an alternate download mode screen. I always make extra preparations when I need to Odin anything.
did you read OP ? (I know, but I read several times) I read some of it and it seems as if you are not the only one to have similar problem.
did you et ALL the files you needed ? do you know where they are ?
were there any tutorals on Youtube ? they helped me
did you actually rehearse ? silly, I know. walk though everything in your head an compare to thread / youtube.
I hope somebody else will come around offer some more help, sometimes when someone brings up the most basic things, it triggers switch, and you realize what went wrong.
I hope this does that for you, good luck
Its there a way to reboot normally or its it broken i have read it a lot and prepared everything when i tried it fail i'm not sure how to restore it because when i try plug it in to my computer it doesn't come up only on Odin i tried kies did not find my phone so yeah oh and i tried to reboot in to recovery mode didn't work so i'm kina stuck and as far as i know it could be in a bootloop or somthing.
Many thanks,
Adam
Is download mode boot looping? If so it sounds like a stuck power button. Try tapping the power button rapidly and see if it stops looping.
Odin won't recognize a looping device. Neither will kies. Once you stop looping flash files again.

may I suggest posting under the general forum here, there is a sub forum for your device there which may give you some more target specific technical help.
just go back out from here and up t the general section. it might be about 5 or 6 threads down. there may be more people there with same device with a post as recent as yesterday.
good luck and keep us posted here. you are getting some reaction from your phone so I am sure it is not bricked.

Alright, I screwed up my phone. I was trying to root it, and this morning when it said everything passed and I was restarting my phone, where the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge screen and at the bottom it says powered by android....DOESN'T GO AWAY. It just stays there on that screen. So, I downloaded the stock firmware for the Canadian Bell S6 Edge cellphone, and tried to flash the old system back on my phone and the error message comes up: SW REV. CHECK FAIL DEVICE 4 BINARY 2
I have no idea what that means, I cannot find a reason on the internet.
I do not know how to fix my phone back to stock everything.
I am losing it, everything has been going wrong!!!
Can anyone please guide me how to fix it.....if at all possible. I know just a couple of things, I am not cellphone savvy at all. I really don't think I am ever gonna root my phone ever again. lol
