[Q] Xperia Neo v 2012 Bootloader Unlcoking - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

HI friends
i have searched and come up with my question is there any method to unlock bootloader of neo v with 12w17 build from which i can retain my DRM keys & track id.I tried test point method s1tool but with no success.
If the answer of my question is NO,then someone can tell me to install Night elf kernel on Locked Bootloader?

No kernel on locked bootloader.
Post 12w15 official unlock is only way.
Shardul Seth has a thread with extra modules for stock kernel, will help with performance, on locked bootloader Rom

waiting for a root solution!!
Do you want root with locked bootloader or unlocked?
Unlocked bootloader gingerbread rooting is easy 2 steps for all firmwares. Though that's not enough a reason to unlock the bootloader.
neo v bootloader unlocking has'nt been provided by sony yet..... but for starters rooting neo v will be a gr8 help & will cm7 be supporting NEO V too ???
tried GINGERBREAK , X10FlashTool ,SuperOneClick......but was no use ....waiting for root
unlocking on SE website for neo V is same as for neo. just do it.

Why not we create a separate section for Neo V. I am getting this device and hopefully will post about the root procedure soon.
That's gr8..... Surely it takes some time on XDA to get a separate section

Erm, sorry don't understand what you asking..
If you're asking if there is any loss by locking it with "restore" option, then no. No side effects.
Ok, so that means its hassle free nd completely safe will not lead any future issues like will not break the installed unlocked ROM configuration.
Nd we will able to do future OTA without bricking our phone.
That's a gud news.
Thanks Mate:thumbup:

I recommend you first flash stock ftf before re locking. Don't relock when your phone has any other kernel except stock.

Unlocking bootloader officially

I have Neo V used test point method 10 months back to unlock my device as now my phone completed a year so here warranty period laps..
Just curious to know is there any benefit to officially unlocking my device?
If yes, is it necessary to lock my device using "S1 Tool" before unlocking it officially?

Lolz!
Its generally the other way round that people ask
As in Is it beneficial to unlock unofficially
Anyways to answer you,no nothing fancy in unlocking officially!
You're better off with unlocked bl that too via testpoint!
There's just need for Unlocked bl -Be it anyhow you do Either official or unofficial...
Still,
If you're doing official unlock ,you need to be on stock fw if I'm not wrong and yea, with a locked bootloader Ofcourse

LOL
Just for the curiosity
I guess its better to b unlock unofficially because it preserve the DRM keys so software like Track ID still works
Anyway Thanks Bro

There are many threads about that problem and there's no way to solve it
Could it be your phone has a simlock? The only chance is to unlock via Wotan which is paid and we can't promise that it'll work
