browser2ram delete cache and history on internet browser - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi
I like this app browser2ram but cache and history are deleted every time i turn off my Asus prime
Is there asolution to solve this?

Email the developer.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk 2

The app works by creating a RAM drive on which to store the browser data so by definition this gets wiped on reboot. Apparently it does save the "local bookmarks" data to disk every 12 hours and before each reboot but this is no use if you are syncing with Chrome bookmarks via your Google account.
I am no developer but I imagine TheOnionKnight doesn't think it is worth the extra work to get all the data saved for a project which is very much a stop-gap while Asus pulls its finger out and gets the browser working correctly.
Personally I find having to re-sync the browser on every reboot a small price to pay for the huge increase in smoothness this script gives us.

Where is this app? I tried the market but couldn't find it.

The app is fantastic. Honestly I could care less about cache and history. It saves bookmarks and is very fast. http://mark-tech.blogspot.com/2012/06/browser2ram-fixes-transformer-prime.html

Does this script/app work with all of the browsers or only the stock one?

Works only on the stock browser:good:

issue
I've DL the file multiple times even from drop box. When I go to install it says I have no space and gives me the option to manage apps. But I have 24gigs of storage left and also uninstalled 3 apps and cleared its cache. I've read that a factory data wipe "might" work.
Any thoughts?

I think after few changes it could work with any browser. When I get to my home computer (monday) I'll try to modify it for Chrome.

Jelly Bean update
I installed browser2ram and it worked fine.
However, this morning i received the JB update, but it wouldn't work. did it happen the same to you?

you not alone. same here. it'll start working but when u zoom in or out after a while, it'll freeze up. actually freezes up the whole device. when in most cases forced a reboot. Google maps works fine though. I think Google developers need to update it.

great find. will try out this tip asap. thanks!
Wow, just tried Google Earth. It worked for about 14 seconds and then froze my prime completely. The back, home, and running apps buttons wouldn't work. I even locked the screen and the lockscreen wouldn't even come up. I had to hold down the power button until it shut off!
I probably wouldn't use Google Earth very often, but I would still like it to work.
Google earth update on the market now, might have fixed the freezing problem.

On honeycomb I could just check the 'android compatibility' but I cant find this setting on ics and therefore earth is freezing up from time to time on ics. Does anyone of you know whether it is still possible to enable 'android compatibility'?

I had that problem, but it went away after signing into my account.
erf should i bother updating?
so after unboxing this device i'm left wondering if i should even bother updating to ics.
my youtube works, not GREAT, but it works. i get buffering quite a bit but if i leave it paused until the videos are 3/4 dlded then play, they run through and i attribute this to my mifi having a crappy satellite connection.
if updating causes issues i may just leave this tab in the original 3.2.1 since it works now. if it's not broke, i'm not fixin it
I had this issue as well. I solved it by clearing the YouTube data and rebooting. It seems that the update corrupts the app info. Haven't had a crash since.

Where do i find Cerberus/uninstall cerberus

Installed Cerberus app and the first day it worked pretty nice with both GPS tracking and commando to the Prime.
When i tried it again today, i can't get a connection, so i thought i should check out the settings.
But then there is the next problem. I have hidden it from the drawer (earlier command) so i wont find it. I tried uninstalling it from market, but it's been saying 'uninstalling' the last 15 minutes.
Anyone?
Do you have Titanium backup?? Uninstall it from there, should work
Tried to uninstall twice by using Titanium, then installing it from market. Not working, can't open it as i could, the first time i downloaded the app.
Seems like some data is not deleted when wiped/uninstalled.

I'm not sure if the device admin # is the same for all devices but mine is 23723787. (You can change it to whatever you want) Dial that number in the dialer and the app will pop up if its hidden from your app drawer, there's gotta be an uninstall option
I don't have a Dialer on the prime? Or am I completely wrong?

Haha that's a very valid point, I have it on my GNex...Ya know, sometimes I forget which sub-forum I'm on sorry for the absent-minded comment lol.
Have you tried locating it in a file manager app like "root explorer," and deleting it that way?
I don't know what really happened just now, but i could all of a sudden uninstall and install straight from Market. Must have been a delay on deleting the files with Titanium. Thanks alot. It's up and running, ready to catch some thiefs!

Just for future reference: from their web app (where you can send commands to your device) two of the commands are to hide from app drawer and to put it back.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
I know that. My first problem was that i couldn't get a connection - therefore i were going to re-install it.
Just clear the data of your application and open up the Application again from drawer. Once you open it. it will ask again for the login.
Use your username/password and the goto the setting and hit status. it will disable the admin. now again try uninstalling the app.
This works for me, Hopefully it will help
Thanks
You'll have to make Cerberus a non-administrator. Go into settings under Security and un-check the application. This will allow you to uninstall from the app section as any normal program.

SGS3 S-Voice for Prime

Hey everybody...
Wanna voice command your Prime?
Samsungs S Voice from the SGS3 works on our TF201s.
Won't work on EVERY ROM, but I am running it on stock now, and it's confirmed working on CM9 and AOKP.
Only problem we are having is FC if you try to change the wake up command from "Hi Galaxy" to something else. In that case clear data and cache to get it going again.
Enjoy

EDIT: SAMSUNG HAS BLOCKED ALL DEVICES RUNNING THIS APP ON THE SERVER SIDE. IT WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE EXCEPT ON SAMSUNG GS3. SORRY
Sweet!!! And thanks!!! I'm running stock rooted latest firmware. About to download and give this a try!! So, how is it working so far? Better than the voice command apps from Play Store?

I installed by changing permissions to rw-r-r-- then placing into system/app rebooting then installing and everything will open but as soon as my phrase or any noise is accepted it force closes. Am I doing anything wrong?
Edit: just woke up and after about three more reboots it now seems to be totally working except for changing hi galaxy, it's pretty cool but so far it seems identical to dragon go just with the annoyance of having to wake it up and being able to control simple system settings

I just installed it as an apk and it works fine for me. So you can't control system settings? I guess it's different for everyone. Everything I tried worked so far. Notes, weather, WiFi, bluetooth, browser, etc. I don't see myself using it much at all, just thought it was cool that it works for us.

Yeah no problem. For some reason I really think it's cool when apps from other OEMs and devices work for my devices. Like this svoice, lwp, etc. I guess it's cool because it's not supposed to work, but we make it work
Yeah, he mentioned a while back on the AOKP thread he was the editor there, but I always forget. Pretty cool stuff on his site for sure.

Doesn't work for me. I installed it as a system app. 75% of the time I get server errors followed by forces closes. Twice it recognized my command ( what is the weather forecast) then FC'd. A third time it recognized it, displayed the weather, and FC'd about half a second later. Help?

Can't really give any support, sine it's made for the SGS3 and not out Transformer Primes.
You might be able to get it working a little better if you leave it installed, and install it again on top of it...someone mentioned that helps. Otherwise, go to the Samsung Galaxy s3 forums and check out the SVoice thread there.

That's what I did. Just downloaded and clicked install. Everything works except changing the wakeup name.
FYI
Samsung made sure it doesn't work anymore
They changed some settings on their server so that only SGS 3 users will be able to use the app.
since it is all server sided.
just change build.prop to gt-I9300. It has worked with me and with hundreds or thousand of other people.

How I fix the glitching and random reboots on stock roms

I have read this concern and found my own way of fixing it.
More than likely ur getting these issues because ur upgraded or didn't wipe when flashing a rom
How to fix
Back up your stuff
Perform factory reset
For locked devices go to Asus and download your current firmware.
Copy that to your internal sd card not in a specific folder.
Reboot device and let it update ur device again
This fixed my prime and my brother in laws tf101
For custom unlocked folks
Wipe all and wipe all system, data, cache, then install rom of choice and when u restore your Apps from like tiBU like me, only restore app not data

Do you mind panning around Google Earth, specifically in NYC with 3D buildings enabled? I'm curious to know whether this process has had any effect on the ANRs under these circumstances.
Google Earth in NYC with 3d buildings enabled and I got 3 Wait or close pop ups, it lagged big time too.
I don't ever use earth on anything because Google maps is fine for me.

Thank you for checking. I don't regularly use it either, but it's a cool app and I'd like to be able to use it on occasion.
I noticed that it hangs up a lot more with 3d buildings enabled. I tried it without that and it was much smoother.
Pretty bad considering this is the most power Android device available

Exactly. My dual-core Galaxy Nexus runs Earth with 3D buildings beautifully. It's a travesty that I can't view them on my more powerful 10" tablet. Come on, Asus.

I did that and though I noticed an improvement at first, too. But after using it a little more, the complete freezes and lockups, and ANRs all resumed.

I've read instructions on other threads that suggest putting the firmware on an external sd card and running the install from that. Will that do anything different that doing it from the internal sd card? Will the update be found automatically when the tablet launches after the wipe, or do you need to trigger it: either by selecting the file itself or via the setting menu->check updates button?
After you did that, did you reboot, do a soft reset, or cold boot again immediately before setting up any accounts or downloading apps? Did you let Google download all your previous apps, or did you do so selectively, and in any particular order? I'm new at this, and hoping to get my tablet running better and not worse by the end of it all...
Thanks!
no u have to have it on the root of the internal sd card.
All this does is updates it but uses the entire rom instead of pieces. CWM doesnt allow you to install from ext sd either
