Dear All.
I have had the SGS3 for about 2 weeks now. I am wondering if other people are experiencing Random Water Droplet Noises when the phone is not in use (As in idle / sleep / screen off etc.)
I am quite often woken in the middle of the night to the water droplet noise even though the phone is not being touched and the screen in off... it is very random an can occur any time of the day or night.
Any ideas? Maybe Singal/Wifi drops-outs?
Cheers LD
yes! but i get random 'plugged into charger' noises. bleep-bleep.
there has to be a way to disable plugged into charger noises. my old evo car charger is loose. therefore the s3 wants to continuously pause my music from bluetooth to let me know. Of course I will get a new charger, but either way that is annoying.

Has anyone noticed a high pitched noise coming from their charger? I finally pinned down the sound today. It stops after unplugging/plugging in, but returns soon after.
Once and a While
it only happens to my charger once and a while , for me, I noticed if I leave it unplugged for about an hour it stops.. Idk what makes it happen tho..
It happens when you unplug it from the gpad.
It happens to me even when the Gtab is plugged in
I haven't written this in a long time and it will help bunches of folks:
Notice that the model number on the charger is MPA-630.
If you Google that you will find it is not too hard to find and not too
expensive if you need one. I believe it is commonly used with digital
picture frames.

My charger has been buzzing as well. It really bugs me. Im wondering if it has anything to due with the led light on the charger. I might try and take it apart tonight.
I'm curious if anyone has had any issues with using bluetooth calling in a car. With my SGS1 (Verizon US Fascinate), when I hang up a call via bluetooth in my car, bluetooth on the phone will crash and disconnect from the car. The phone will freeze for a few minutes, then I have to disable and re-enable bluetooth for it to re-connect to the car. I've talked to a few others who have had the same issue with my same phone, but I guess not many people use this feature or have this bug? I would like to know if anyone with an SGS 2 uses bluetooth calling via car and if they have any issues.
I'm also curious about the minor things Samsung does in their ROMs which never made sense to me. The primary one is the "charge complete" notification. I charge my phone at night while I sleep and in the middle of the night (every night), I get a notification beep telling me the phone is charged. It also turns on the VERY bright AMOLED display which lights up the entire room. Also, my girlfriend's Samsung phone will die in the middle of the night if it's not charged and will blast the shutdown animation and sound VERY loud.
Samsung does little things that are a bit irritating at times and I'm curious if they've improved with their new phone.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help answer these questions.

interedsting thread. one thing keeping me off the sgs2 was the sgs 1 faults...
I have a delay when pressing the home button.. it's not as instant as the back button. did the original sgs have that problem too?
Hey guy's so I was out at a part a couple of nights ago, came back in drunk and started listening to music on my s3, was drinking water so the hangover the next day wouldn't be to bad. I remember moving the bottle slightly and some water come out the top (just a small splash). I didn't think anything of it, if it wasn't drunk i would have turned the phone of right away and put it on the radiator. The next day I went the charge the phone (it had ran out of power and had been switched of all night) for the first 10 mins it was charging fine, then intermittently it started to connect and disconnect some time it would connect thinking it was in dock mode although i was charging it from the main, so i tried charging it from usb from the computer, that wouldn't even charge it at all although the wall socket would, so it was doing this for a good couple of hours, eventually it stopped and i managed to get the battery up to 50% and then it started again, it stopped and again i managed to get the battery p to 100%. So i was using it all day yesterday, I went to charge it today again and it would not charge at all, even from the wall, i thought crap.... so i put the phone on top of the radiator for like 45 mins / 1hr full blast (full heat, very warm) plugged it into the computer (which was not working at all since i got water in it) and boom it started charging! now it has been charging for the past couple of hours i am at 90% or somthing, the dock connected thing has started again but this time it is not disconnecting like it was before so... although i keep getting this annoying dock message i can still get it charged, is there any way i can disable dock mode without installing a custom rom and voiding my warranty, also any ideas why i am getting the dock message? i have a theory that the water, although a small amount when i splashed the phoned, got mixed with some oils or some crap on the case of my phone and is bridging/shorting something inside the usb interface...
I know that is long... thanks for reading and TIA!

Probably you get some water inside the device. Try keeping it on rice for 24 hours and try to use the phone again. Your warranty is already void as the device has water indicators to shows that it got wet.

Update
Just thought i would update this thread for anyone who has the same problem and comes across it. The problem has slowly petered out, i can still get it occasionally but no wear near as much as i was, i think if i take my phone into a place that has a high moisture levels i.e. a sauna/shower room or something it could play up again and the dried up oils could become loose, but for the time being its running good. but i believe the issue was the water i got on the interface or the home button was ever so slightly mixed with some oils i had on my fingers from eating a curry lol and it lingered a little longer due the the oils resins retaining the water and stopping them evaporating, thats my theory any way hope it helps others out there.
As a final note, if you get water in your phone pop the battery out immediately and get it under a hair dryer or on a already hot radiator to minimize the damage. Even if you turn the phone off and wait till you get home to dry it would be better in terms of stopping things for shorting out etc. The moral of the story is, get a cheap mp3 or ipod touch for listening to music went you are drunk lol.
Peace!
Hello everyone! This is my first post here!
So anyway
2 days ago, a drop or 2 of water got into my USB connector of my nexus 5, and i didnt notice and unfortunately plugged it in to charge it. Suddenly, i heard crackling sound and started smelling smoke/burning silicon/rubber.
I quickly unplugged it, but it was too late and it could no longer charge. however, later at night, i tried cleaning the formed rust off the connector with a thin piece of metal, and now its charging properly, but it is a bit sensitive (aka moving the usb cable will stop it from charging)
however, i started noticing that my battery is dying really quickly, i mean approximately 1% every 2 or 3 minutes when im just browsing the net or even just arranging my homescreen icons.
The top back of the phone (near the camera area) is also getting hotter than usual when only doing the above mentioned things, and the temp decreses at the bottom part/battery of the phone. so im guessing its the cpu thats heating up (top)
however, i was talking to a google rep about a replacement before i got the phone to charge, and she made me factory reset it before i send it to them (but ended up not sending it because theyll charge me because theyll find out its water damage), and i dont know whether the problem is because of the burnt connector (thats functional now...) or because of the reset. I reset it a second time, but the batter/cpu temp is the same.
in battery stats, Android system is in 2nd place the whole time. Screen is about 40% and andoroid system is about 15% (with a CPU total and Keep Awake of 12min)
So does the damage of the connector have to do with the battery/cpu heating up? like could it have affected them? because my battery was normal before the factory reset/usb damage.
thanks a lot
Note that i have disabled all unnecessary functions ie. location, lte, have set auto brightness, and have all the settings i had before the factory reset
Did you do anything else like installing a new app or make any changes besides the water damage?
It does not seem to be related but with the crackling sound and burnt smell this may somehow be related.
is there any way to shut off that beep? my wireless charger randomly looses connection occasionally and beeps in the middle of the night... not often, but enough! id really like to kill that sound, any suggestions?
I don't believe there's a way besides putting your phone on silence. I use the Quiet Hours setting to put mine on silence during sleep time, and create exceptions for certain contacts.
ive got the quiet hours set and it still beeps? i thought that would do it, but no luck on my phone?
You know, I stand corrected. Quiet Hours still doesn't disable the charging sound. Only silent mode shuts it off.
That is the #1 reason I want to root mine... I'm holding out for samsung pay though. I have a lot of different wireless charging pads and they are hit and miss as far as the connection. However, the one I have at my bedside is an official samsung pad and it never seems to lose connection as long as it is centered. Perhaps switching pads might fix your night problem.
