Hello everyrbody,
I'm using the latest CM9 nightly build on my galaxy S3.
I got a strange issue with some apps refusing to install on my phone because there's not enough memory (whil I have 3Go remaining) but other ones works.
There's no specific apps that doesn't install for exemple some live wallpapers and themes, apps like City2 in Belgium, etc. It's really random.
I searched a bit everywhere and found that Titanium Backup may cause this thing to happen, I installed it before but when I search about the specific folder with root explorer I can't find it, so I guess it's another app that may cause it.
Does anybody have an idea ?
Thank you !

When you install an application you get an icon you can place wherever you want.
The problem is that when I reboot, some icons always appear at the end of the last panel, like when the app was installed for the first time.
I've tried reinstalling, unistalling + deleting cache partition and delviks chace + installing, and whatever I thought It could help like "fixing permisions" in xrecovery.
I'm sure this is not an application problem, because I got it once and when I updated the phone (flashed a newer rom version) it fixed. The problem is I don't want to reflash the phone.
So what can I do? What file stores the apps icons position?
Thank you!
Hi, I'm using galaxy S2 and experiences the same problem.
rather discuss in this thread than open a new thread as it seems the same issue (android not phone)
anyone can help?
(I don't have an SD card, cuz I've searched and seen discussions about apps moved to SD card will make their icons run around)
I cannot download some apps from the play store. It says your device is not compatiable. I know it is compatiable because i have seen others with the app on their note. I tried downloading the original car home (i did not like the voice stock samsung one) and samsung apps which doesnt even show up in the play store anymore.
My lcd density is still 320 havent changed it.
Im running rooted saurom with no changes to OC

I have had several issues like this.... you need to edit your "BUILD.PROP" file with Some type of file explorer / rom toolbox or something like that.
Several lines such as "RO.xxx.device" says i717 - Where it says SGH-i7171 you should change to "GT-N7000" which is the international version. This will fix that issue - also, use the search function, there is another thread with this info already.

Oh okay I will try looking and searching for the build prop posts. I am new to rooting and modding. Can you tell me exactly what i need to do? Do i need to purchase root explorer for this? And I'am kind of worried that by switching to the gt-n700 build prop it will make other apps which work now incompatiable and i will be in the same situation again.
Okay so to try and fix it I re installed the new saurom rom xla2 rcvi and the atnt fix. I rebooted it and restored my apps and data through titanium backup. I am now going to do a nandroid backup. But i still cannot get sme apps from the play store still uncompatible. I thought the atnt fix would fix it because it removed the r from the build.prop. But it didnt.
could you link me to the posts where this was discussed because I could not find it. also could you tell me how to do this because i was just trying to find my build prop just so i would know where to find it and i couldnt.
I just dont understand why i cant download some apps like samsung apps, omnisketch these are made for the note? I tried restoring my samsung apps from my stock rom because i backed it up with titanium but when i restored it and tried to open it, it took me to the play store and said the app was not compatible.
This has been bothering me lately. When I open my Instagram (using xperia ray latest Gingerbread stock ROM), and go to "Photo Maps", a dialog box appears saying "Photo Maps requires that the Google Maps Android API is installed on your device
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Google Maps and Instagram, I restarted my device too. But it doesnt solve the problem.
I tried checking /system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar , I thought I lost this file but the file is there..
This is a rare problem and I only found 2 search results on Google about this problem, and both were found on XDA forum. One had his problem solved by placing this .jar file there. The other one tried placing the .jar file but no luck.
It's bothering me. Because I think it will affect other application that uses google maps. But I'm not sure. And I don't want to reinstall the whole ROM because I have partitioned my SD card, put many stuff in it, I dont want to start it all over just because of this small problem.
Thank you very much in advanced.
I am having the same problem, but it has caused me to realize that I cannot download most things that have a main function that utilises the gmaps API... I'm running a CM9 fork, though, so I expect that to be the cause. Furthermore, I tried to replace the files and gapps installation through recovery, it yields no changes. I see no new files, which is odd imo... Placing the JAR through a file manager and rebooting doesn't change anything for me either. Would love a followup because I too have seen the threads Fun is talking about but I have also seen at least a dozen on here that have gone unanswered
yes. Someone has to got to have the solution. So bump.
bump... i guess? I havent been able to fix this. Althoug a simple flash will fix this, I'm curious that we can fix this.
Still having this issue myself.
Running CM10.1 on my Galaxy SII (i9100P), although its not just with my current ROM that I'm having the issue. Tried refladhing ROMs and GAPPS but no joy. Countless data/cache wipes have done notjing to fix it. Also tried the.jar solution but did nothing.
Really annoys me that I can't find a solution.
No one any ideas on what this could be?
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-T999L with Android 4.3, then downloaded Titanium Back-up, and then started removing several apps (in an attempt to strip the bloatware). Now when I go to Google Play and try to install a new app, I click the "Install" button and wait for the progress meter to reach 100%, but no "Open" button appears afterward (which used to happen). When I search my phone, there are no icons for any of the new apps I try installing.
Does anyone know which app I deleted that caused this problem? Thank you.
Put back you're nandroid backup. (I assume you make one before you start deleting some apps.)
Or flash a stock rom back without whipping. So you dont lose some data.

Have you tried rebooting the phone?
if you have installed TB then you have rooted the phone obviously. Explore your data folder from the root directory using TB or any advanced file explorers like Root explorer or Es file explorer. Find the apk files of the apps you have installed just to verify if your play store has downloaded the apps to your phone.
Also are you sure if you removed only bloatware or any core apks related to your android system... like eg: application provider.apk
I did not make a backup. Before flashing a ROM, I wanted to post here and see if anyone knows what app being deleted caused the behavior I described. That's what I'm wondering: Do you know which specific app being deleted would cause Google Play to have the described problem? When I try to install a new app, it gets to "100%" on the status bar, but subsequently fails to display the "Open" button. Everything else on the phone works flawlessly and I put a lot of time into customizing the phone with apps I like.
Having said that, I am curious about the option to flash a ROM that you mentioned. The reason I did not want an Apple phone is because they seemed to restrictive of options and freedom. But lately I am thinking about Google censoring AdBlock from Google Play, the EFF's criticism of doing away with AppOpps, and shoving Google+ down the throats of YouTube users. So, I looked into Cyanogen but my model of phone was not listed on Cyanogen's website for phones tested to work. I am interested to exploring the idea of flashing a ROM (which I never did before) but I definitely want to keep my 4G LTE functioning via T-Mobile. Any ideas?
Hi,
I have a ZTE 967S. Had it for a few years, it came rooted with a standard Chinese ROM. I'd like to install a new rom but I'm useless at this, however I can say that the recovery mode is in Chinese which certainly doesn't help!
My problem is I was having a lot of problems coping with only 4GB ROM, although I think the partitions must be wrong because I could barely install more than two applications like facebook.
Anyway I downloaded a program to free up space, deleted some unimportant core apps like hangouts etc but now I'm unable to install any new applications on the handset.
I just wondered what you think may be the best solution to this? I've looked about installing a new rom but would this require me to install Mobile Tools on the phone? which is obviously a little difficult now. Is there another way?
