Issue:
the external sd card location at /mnt/extSdCard
versus the old /sdcard/external_sd and sygic will not run from there.
First i tried a symbolic link after being rooted. but you cannot have a symbolic link with file on an sd card as they don't support it.. which is what i need because the old location was under the sdcard..
didnt work.. it downloaded ok to external by editing the sygic database.xml but doesnt run right that way....

+ i just deleted the external_sd folder from my internal sd card it was supposed to enter my external sd card from there i deleted it becouse it had 0 space that`s what it said now how do i view my external sd???
i still didn`t resolve the problem :-??
On teamhacksung's ROM (and on many other such as CyanogenMod) your external sdcard is mounted in a different path: you can find it in "/mnt/emmc/" or "/emmc/".

thanks a lot!!!!
I noticed that the external SD card is only visible within the default file manager app. 3rd party apps are unable to view/browse the external sd card. Is it possible to work around this? I wish Samsung did it the traditional way here..

I too cant see it in Astro but is is visable in Root Explorer although the default location as changed and it took me a few minutes to find it, previously with the SGSII it was (in Root Explorer) when you clicked on SD Card > External SD but know the location is mnt > ext sd card

Yes I realised that too. It is very annoying! That made Astro practically useless!
Use Total Commander instead. It works fine ...
I use astro and can get to the Ext SD by going into Manage My Files then going Up one level to /mnt from /mnt/sdcard then the extSdCard folder is visible
I cant seem to get files from external sd card within some programs.Like psx4droid or FPse.When it comes to select bios,it shows me a file browser. There is one folder "sdcard" but its the internal sd card and i cant find the directory for the external sd card.
yeah,yeah,10 gb are a lot of but i want to use my sdcard too
Samsung have moved the location where it's mounted to and some apps which are hard coded can't find it.
If you can go up a directory from sdcard to mnt you will then find extSdCard containing your ROMs.
yeah,my bad.i found it!
thank you very much
Hello i got my sgs3 today,i have inserted a 32gb sd card, but cant find a folder link to my ext card on es fileexploer
i rebember on my sgs2 i had a folder called extsdcard or something to acces my sd card??
can anybody tell me where it is? or how to do?
regards
It's mnt/extSdCard
make sure you are in the main directory, under /mnt should be 2 files: "extSdCard" (external card -your 32gb card) and "sdcard" (internal card)
can also try just "MyFiles" if FileExplorer is giving you issues, that's what I use when not using Astro

thanks i found it,but it dident show mnt without showing hidden files,im using a app called websharing who i like very much,
but on that app it does not show mnt folder just internal card,i dident have any problems on my sgs 2 with that, because it was a folder in internal card linking to my sdcard.. is it a way to make a folder linked to sd card on internal memory??
thanks for all help
Yes.
First create a folder on your internal sd (/mnt/sdcard) called external_sd (you can name it whatever you want but for compatibility reasons you should choose this)
Then use the following tool to bind-mount /mnt/extSdCard/ to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd

You can just press the Favorite button on the es file explorer. Your external SD card should be shown there as /mnt/extSdCard/
Im having issues with my SD card. My phone will not allow me to move files from the internal storage to the external SD card. Whenever I try to set my sd card as the download location (for the browser and Adownloader) nothing will download. Any suggestions guys ...thanks
Ps im rooted and tried moving files using root explorer
I think you need something called "directory bind"
