[Q] X10 won't boot after JIT enabler installation - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I did something very stupid: I installed JIT enabler at my X10i running on rooted 2.3 Gingerbread and now my phone does not boot past the white "Sony Ericsson" logo.
If this is somehow helpful, I have XRecovery installed and I'm able to boot it. However, I haven't created a backup.
Please, help me as fast as possible, because I'm a bit desparate.
Thanks, in advance!

You mustn't use JIT on Android higher than 2.1 -
1. Cause it will make something like you have right now.
2. Android 2.3 has it in standard, so no need to use it pal .
To fix this, just flash some official ROM via FlashTool, or use PcCompanion.
Cheers mate.

Wow! That's what's called "fast response"!
Thanks for your advice! Updating with PC Companion now and will try to root again, later.

No problem friend, I was here when you created this thread, that's why . Give some info when you make something.

same here, i lose all my files on my phone

Thanks, again! Next time I'll give some more info.
After repairing my phone with PC Companion, I re-rooted it and re-installed X-Recovery, so now everything is fine.

Just do the same as I did (PC Companion → Repair)! I think that it doesn't wipe your data (or at least not those at the SD card).

z4root cannot be installed after repair via pc companion

Hello All,
I bricked my x10, and did a PC companion update repair. I also reformatted the sd card. However, now I cannot root with z4. It is stuck on " running exloit in order to obtain root access, or that it exits and when I try to go back into the program, it says that an unexpected error had occurred and need to force stop. Once its force stopped, I cannot go back into the program. I tried restarting the phone, but the same thing happened. I reformatted my phone and card two more times, but same problem exists. Please help! Thanks!

Try uninstalling it. Then, make sure you download it to the sdcard before you install it using Astro or equivalent. I had a similar problem when I tried to install it straight from dropbox rather than downloading it to the sdcard first and then installing it.
I hope you are not trying to root the latest Generic 2.0.2.A.0.24 FW because that is not rootable at the moment?
how do I know if I have the Generic 2.0.2.A.0.24 FW?? I went to 'about phone" and only see that the firmware version is 2.1 update1. is that the unrootable firmware? I also tried using astro to install it thru sd card but it still doesnt work..... maybe I should just root it with one click and not use z4 anymore?

Go to settings --> about phone and scroll down. It should tell you what build you have.
aiya... it appears that I do have the 2.0.2.A.0.2.4 FW. thats why z4root wont work..... is there a way that I can revert back the firmware? is this FW recently released? What is the advantage of this FW over the older version?? Thanks

Yes it is recently released. It is a minor update that fixes some bugs but, there is no official changelog from SE. You can flash back to older FW from here.

First, install X-recovery and read the instructions here.
Second, go here and follow the instructions in post #1.
Third, go here to install JiT.
Each post has very simple instructions, so just read through them. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the help, but can I install xRecovery on an un-rooted phone? Because the xRecovery post says that the requirement is that the phone must be un-rooted .... do I still have a chance?

got it work by re-flahsing it back to the old FW. Didnt bother to update to the newer FW, but everything feels fine! Thanks everyone!
Do we need to re-root and re install all the apps everytime that there is a FW update? like re do the whole process when a new FW gets released??

[Q] [q] please help asap i think iv broke my beloved x10 :(

hi There
PLEASE HELP ASAP I THINK IV BROKE MY BELOVED X10
Im new to all this Mod stuff and i have no experience at ....... But I LOVE this Theme i found , its amazing!!!!!! so i rooted my phone using super oneclick, i then found RECOVERY, also got the theme [X.Gbread for 2.1 Official ROM 2.0.2.A.0.24 + Battery Circle] [new-v0.6]
Installed everything it all and was great!! everything went smooth, but some things were missing on the theme like the new swipe button, the wallpaper, the new clock etc so...... i then installed a previous version [X.Gbread for 2.1 Custom ROM AOSP], thinking that version had the bits i needed and the later version i installed first was a add-on, and now the phone will not boot up, it gets past the Sony Ericsson but wont boot past the Nexus S Bootanimation, then it restarts itself, and starts all over again, i dont know what to do as i know NOTHING about flashing phones. PLEASE HELP
Phone specs - what i had before
X10i
2.1 Update1
build no. 2.0.A.0.504
Rooted with SuperOneClick
Also busybox
Many Thanks
Leon
************* update i can get the phone to the Xrecovery screen, ive tried reinstalling both of the themes but it gets to the lock screen and when the lock comes off, a box comes up with a triangle exclamation mark on it that says 'Weeks' on it and underneath it says "year" with a button that says "%1$s %2$s" and when you press it nothing happens apart from sometimes the writing year changes to years, after a minute it reboots and does the same thing.
does anybody know how i could sort this out???
Have i 'bricked' the phone?? if so what does that mean and can i sort it?? would i be able to send it in for repair??
or how i could i flash i back to the original SE theme, with out it starting up????
hopefully somebody can save me because at the moment i have not got a phone and i love my x10 sooooo much!!!!!!
i knew i should have just left it alone!!!!!!!!
Thanks Leon
i would recommend you to do
1. a full wipe using the recovery
2. re-install the theme u wanted. (perhaps u should re-download the theme u wanted)
btw, did u install using the option "install custom zip"?
if those above does not helps,
1. re-install the firmware using SEUS or flashtools from Bin4ry
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825201&highlight=flash.
2. root it and install xRecovery and then install the themes u wanted.
You'll have to really flash. The problem here was that you mixed up to FW (.24 & .504) when you installed the first theme... it clearly says for which version it is my friend....
So reflash to any ROM you want but check first the theme you're aplying and also if you have Xrecovery do a backup before any Mod so you don't have to reflash again...
Have fun you're not the first nor the last with this I've been there done that more than once....

I believe for my version no. 2.0.A.0.504 it came up with the same box as before, unable to get onto my homescreen but can see it in the background.
i dont know if i will be able to reinstall the SE firmware as it looks very complicated. im in England and it looks like i would have to use the Nordic software???? im not sure please could somebody let me know of any easier way of installing SE firmware back on???
thanks you so much for this

seus is sony ericsson update service.you need to first download this from the se product site.Once you install and open this application on your pc,the rest of the work is very easy and explained step by step.go for it.another thing---in future before you flash any custom rom, backup your virgin 2.1 using xrecovery so that you can always go back to this opening condition when you are troubled by the custom rom you have installed.
do press the thanks button if this helps you.
Ok, sathkartha.
I'll try it and remember to do the backup. Was my first time and i forgot to do the backup when i remembered was too late.If it works i'll post the result here and press the thanks button.
Thanks
sathkartha,
so, I've made it and followed the intructions and the message that came up for me was:
"No new software is available for your phone. Your phone already has the latest available software isntalled"
Do you have any idea what I can do from now?
Thanks
@alloha----on that screen itself, you will still see a prompt encouraging you to install--click that and move forward.
should I downgrade to 1.6 to seus works?

Thanks for the print, but it doesn't appear for me.
I'll keep trying. Any result i post here.
look at the screen which shows to me
shuold i put some archive in /system or /system/bin?
I think I see what the problem is here:
miniCM uses a modified build.prop so that neither SEUS nor PC Companion update the firmware at any moment, that's why your SEUS says that it doesn't have nay new software for you.
I'd say that instead of trying to go back to 2.1, rather try to do a clean install of any of the custom ROMs, and please do follow the instructions to the letter, most freezing and rebooting in custom ROMs happen due to not doing a factory reset before installing them.
@Akath19 i understand. I would like to go back to 2.1, make a backup and then install a custom ROM. Because I've tried to install a lot of time the custom ROM and this problem keeps boring me.
Talking about build.pro... there is some solution for it? like change this specific build.prob for another one that makes SEUS works?
ohh
you have to flash with the flashtool
because seus or other software couldn't flash it
sorry

Go to HERE and download Flashtool 0.4.2.0, with it, you can root, install xrecovery and unlock bootloader, if you wish.
You need have android 2.3.3, and don´t downgrade kernel.
If you want, install stock firmware.
It´s easy.
right, so do i just click install recovery?
because i rooted it, exactly like that, im running busybox version 1.8.4 or something like that, someone told me it automatically installed xrecovery when i rooted it... is this true? thanks
When you root phone with flashtool, it just root your phone. For install xrecovery you need click on install xrecovery, and when it over, you have xrecovery installed.

Yes, you click the install recovery button. And no, when you root your phone, xrecovery is not added.
A little reminder also, you will never break the x10 by flashing to many times. So every time you run into something like accidentally downgrading kernels, just flash stock FW and start over. Again, the only true way for someone to permanently damage the x10 is only by damaging the USB port. So hold dear to that little port.
Hope you resolve your issue brah. Peace

[Solved] Rooting Xperia Go st27i? Serious help needed

Hi I am a complete noob, so far I only managed to unlock bootloader and it took me almost WHOLE DAY. I want to root my phone, I have no tiniest clue on how to do it for Xperia Go. There are so many methods for other phones I am getting so confused over this. People don't seem to want to help noobs out too much here I noticed, and often "use search" is being said. Well, I did use search and A LOT, still I can't even find how to get started I don't know which suitable apps I need (there's so many, I have no idea).
Model: Xperia Go st27i
Version: 6.0.B.3.184
I found this thread (Sony Xperia GO property root for 6.0.B.3.184 + CWM recovery v5.5.0.4) is this the thing I should be looking if I want to root my phone? All I see here is that he shows what commands to input, with no tutorial at all. I have no idea where to enter these commands, where to unpack files -_- nothing.
I am really hoping some good person helps me out on this one
I have given up, nobody helps me, no tutorials help and nothing works... I tried SuperOneClick for rooting, it didn't work. I tried the dos app from thread "Root MANY ANDROID!" also did not work. I did not try the link from my OP cause that thread has absolutely 0 tutorials and too much chit chatting in comments.
tl;dr nothing works for rooting my xgo
use flashtool to root if nothing works..
Try to find in sola development section
Thanx me if it helped!

- Do you have installed Sony oficial "Sony PC Companion" software?
- are your phone recognised by your computer after installing oficiall "Sony PC Companion" software?

Thanks for all your replies, at least I am moving somewhere now
Yes, download v14 rom, extract archive, run instal.bat, folow instructions on your screen!
Make sure your sdcard have free space for rom.zip, I sugesting you to free your sdcard (1gb free space)...

Thank you so much for supporting me here, I am downloading it and will follow the instructions. One last question for now.... if I install this rom, is my phone already rooted then?
Yes, after installing v14 rom and after installing (later) memory_tweak, your phone will be up to date (mean everything needed) ! Only your last step need to be: install superuser from market (mean superuser, not super su !), and you are done! Going now to my work, will help you later if something missing

Okay I have done a mistake LOL. I forgot to place rom.zip on sdcard. Can I flash it back to GB somehow and finish this ICS install after I place the zip there. I can't see my phone in windows and PC companion can't detect it either.
So right now I only have recovery mode, and no zip on sdcard
In Recovery, go to Mounts and Storage, USB Storage and select Mount. Then connect phone to pc and you can access like a pendrive
