Things missing after flashing ICS ROMs - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
I've been flashing many ROMs from gingerbread ages now, on my SGS2 9100.
1. Bluetooth
Earlier, when I was using GIngerBread, I was getting , under Bluetooth menu, a series of options ( << advanced >> )
This allowed me to transfer my Phonebook contacts to my Sony receiver in my car, as well as, having MAP profile, so that I could use my HP Touchpad for sending sms once paired with my S2.
Now afer having upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, I do not find any such settings. Under Bluetooth, I do not find the Advanced setting.
2. FM Radio
Is there a possibility of putting back the FM Radio app on the device.,
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S2 i19000 with Paranoid 1.4
Can anyone please help me.

You can download FM radio apps from the play store

Try spirit fm from xda application thread for free or from the play store but it's paid

[Q] Bluetooth stack for stock rom

is there a way.. and if so can somebody work on this, i used an app before on my tablet called blueputdroid that worked as a bluetooth remote for the playstation3, but when i try to use it now it gives me an error that the bluetooth stack (im stock rom) is unsupported and suggests using cyanogenmod (nothing against that, but i would prefer to stay on the stock rom right now as i enjoy it.)
so hopefully someone can work on, or port a bluetooth stack to work with this rom if its possible?
friendly bump
I would start with an email to the dev of the app. The SGS II is an incredibly popular phone. See if they can make the app compatible, instead of trying to replace core system files to be compatible with an app.

Root question.

Ok I've got a Samsung galaxy player 3.6 and was wondering if I was to root the device, would I be able to turn this into a cell phone device? Why I ask is because it comes pre-installed with the app, dialer.

Nope, Samsung did not enable hands free calling. Not with Bluetooth. And the sgp doesn't have a 3g/4g chip

You can't turn it into a cellular device because it doesn't have a 2g/3g/4g antenna in it. So no in that aspect. However, you can still make calls with it over wifi. You can get Skype to make calls ( I have a year subscription that has unlimited minutes for 35 dollars). But with Skype you have to pay another $60 buck to actually get your own number so people can call you. That's why most people just use GrooVe IP or TalkaTone (they both do the same thing) in conjunction with Google Voice to make wifi calls. For me I use my Galaxy Player 4.0 at my University and it works fine for me when calling around.
Well, yes and no. While you can’t use GP 3.6 as a phone, because (as others said) it doesn’t have a gsm/3G radio in it, you CAN use it as a bluetooth handsfree with another phone or tablet that has 3G, because it supports bt handsfree profile. That’s what I do. However, you have to test and see if it works properly with a particular device, because some devices don’t work well/at all with GP 3.6. For example my 4 years old Windows Mobile 6.1 phone refused to work with GP 3.6, though they could pair and the phone could even detect it as a bt handsfree. My other phone running android 2.3.6 could pair and detect the GP 3.6 as a bt h/f, and the GP 3.6 could pick up the incoming calls and dial through it, there was no sound during the calls going through the GP 3.6, I fixed it by installing android 4.0.3 on this phone, after that everything worked like a charm. With my 7” 3G tablet running android 4.0.3 the GP 3.6 works as a bt h/f with no problem at all. BTW, you don’t need to root your GP 3.6 to get this functionality, it’s already there! A couple of limitations – you can’t dial the numbers from a GP 3.6, you can only choose the contacts from well.. contacts and dial the numbers assigned to them (which is all I personally need) and also you can’t send/receive sms (that’s a pity). However, the GP 3.6 can identify the caller if it’s in contacts and show the name/picture assigned to them during a call.

CM 10 with rsap support

Any CM10 custom rom with rsap support available? I dont want the stock samsung rom, but i need rsap support.
RSAP is really important feature, it's a shame that cm10 still doesn't support it. Does anybody got any news which rom has a support?
I use Cm10 along with the rsap application from the store on my s2 to sync the phone with my car kit, vw unit, and it works a treat.
It also worked with cm9.
App is called Bluetooth Sim Access Profile.
There is a Trial app that allows you to test before you can use and buy the full app

On the official FM radio it my not show that Bluetooth is turned on but apparantly if the Bluetooth chip on phone is not turned on FM radio wont work. So on official FM radio I understand its only the status is hidden of Bluetooth. I could be wrong though....

[Q] basic vibrant rom for gps nav and podcast player only no cell calls

I was wondering if anyone has a very basic rom? I use my vibrant in my car for a podcast player and for stand alone gps. There is no cellular sim card in it , I just use wifi to download new podcasts. Im looking for something very basic. Any help or ideas would be great thanks
My friend and I are working on a 4.2.2 media player ROM. It will not search for signals or use sin card. It will take a little while to get compiled and tested though. It will also be extremely cuatomizable

Most if not any rom can work as you are looking for. Just turn on airplane mode then wifi & gps.
