Thanks.
Hi I have seen in reviews that the sd card is just for transfering data is this true? e.g. if I put some videos or other files I will have to transfer them to internal storage before opening them?

Thanks so is that the same for any app? e.g. read ebooks / comics or play mp3s all off the sd card?
The reviews got me worried there but if they just mean you cant install to sd then there is no problem as who is going to need more than 4gb for that.
You can store data on the external sd card and some apps will allow you to choose where it looks for data (vidoes, mp3s, etc.) but you can't install/access apps from the external sdcard. Hopefully ICS will address that issue, but Sony will probably hijack it once again.
In internal storage??
Or did I miss something very obvious?
I have Google Music download songs for offline usage. And Downloaded a couple of TV/Movies. BANG! my internal storage got eaten up almost 5 GB immediately.
And I am looking at 200 MB free space remaining in Phone and 30GB free in my external SDCard but have NO WAY to move the music and movies to the external card...
So the only work around without rooting or much hacking is ... to delete Google Play Music data completely. and Download my songs using desktop manager and copy music from computer to external card...
Still , this is stupid and the apps are official Google apps. Now I can't dare to buy a movie and save it in phone to watch on a flight.
Any smart solutions without rooting , please help!
I don't Know what your options are as far as fixing this without root, but you can trick your phone Into using your external sd by Creating Junctions/smlinks using rootexplorer.
Hello all,
I am running a cm10 based Rom on my note 2 and as such can't move apps to the sd card through the usual channels. I was able to get my play music cached songs to store on the external sd and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do the same for Google Play magazines as they take up more room.
Any ideas? Thanks!

bump. Anyone know?
Google Play Music is installed on my TrueSmart, but stores the music for offline listening on the internal 8Gb memory. Too small! I've added a 32Gb SD-card for that music storage, but I do not find how to make it works!
By default, the Google Play Music are stored on /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.google.android.music/files/music, that is on the internal 8Gb memory.
I tried to create symbolic links (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538274), but without any success:
- when I try to create a symbolic link in /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.google.android.music, I obtain an error explaining that this SD-Card "do not support symbolic links"
- I can create a symbolic link in /data/data/com.google.android.music, that is the 1 Gb RAM. But Google Music dont use it (even when I choose 'phone' as the default storage in parameters/storage of the Truesmart).
I need help:
- to create a symbolic link on the 8Gb memory
- or, to force google music store on the 1Gb memory (and thus on the 32Gb card with the symbolic link)
- or, any better idea?
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I am facing the same issue. Willing to store offline google play music on sdcard.
An option is existant in Google music to store music on sdcard.
This option appear on my phone but not on my truesmart.
Did you manage to make it work?
Thanks.
No, I do not... But not a lot of time to search in fact... I will post a solution here if I found one
If your device is rooted then use folder mount app on play store. I use this to keep both play music and Amazon music files on external as card.
