Help please, think I killed it! - Motorola Droid X2

Hi.
I was plaing with the CM9 A4 release and decided to go back to my regular setup. Well my nandroid some how got wiped so that left me doing it all from scratch.
I done all the prorper steps of goning back to 2.3.4, rooting, upg, and flashing Eclipse.
Sigh...
Well now when i try to open an app in my phone it FC's immediately. Worse thing is the settings / file manager does this as well. I tried shutting down and booting the Android Recovery and doing a factory retore / data wipe and when it came back up and I get it setup (still in eclipse) I get the same thing.
I thought about ADB to the phone with BSR and see if I could get that to boo but ADB doesn't see my device or I am not doing something right there. (I can switch the USB modes) I am thinking it doesn't see the phone because I can't get into Setting to enable Debug and Third Party Installs.?
Please, any and all help is appreciated as I am at a lost here.
Thanks, Slim!

well, if it boots, you can get into RSD mode, thus you can sbf back to 2.3.4

[Q] I'm having a serious issue

Droid X2, preinstalled with 2.3.3 The phone belongs to a dear friend, and I've screwed it up apparently. I finally got it rooted via Visionary this morning, remarkably easy once I took the time to actually read. Quick and painless flash of Eclipse 0.5, and then onto apps, mods and 'pretties'. Well the last thing I tried to do before turning it back over to its owner, I tried to change the font. Apparently this is where I went wrong. It's been a soft brick ever since. It will load the "M Dual Core" screen, and that is absolutely it. I can navigate into recovery but whatever Nandroid I had created isn't showing up there. Please tell me there's something I can do, I've tried SBFand whatever, but I'm sure I'm not doing it right. I'd be willing to sling a few bucks your way if you were able to help get remedied. Thanks in advance. We can do text chat, or voice. I'll be home from work around 9pm Central Time. Thanks so much.
If you created a nandroid, you might not be able to find it because Eclipse 5 swaps the sd cards. Try again and you may find it in the opposite directory.
If you ate trying to this thru stock recovery (holding buttons when booting) then you won't be able to restore from there. At this point our only option is BSR, the thing you used to flash eclipse. To get there, power the phone off and then plug it into a wall charger. If it loads, you can do a wipe or restore from there.
You might also be able to wipe data from stock recovery.

What worries me is that I have noticed that when I flash eclipse after a data wipe it seems as though I have to go use system recovery app and press install recovery first again before I can get BSR to show up again with off phone plugged in. Hope this isn't what happen to OP or else sbf is only option.
And if u r sbf make sure on ur phone u r using power and vol up to get where u need to be to sbf. And plug phone into computer AFTER opening rsdlite.

There is an app that works to root 2.3.3 on the x2 without a pc?
Edit: everything I could find easily on that visionary app says it only works on 1.7 firmware and under, and all the posts are over a year old. Not sure how he got this to work for him

I was wondering exactly same thing. If yes OP needs to post a link ASAP for testing and confirmation immediately
I think that visionary root app is what may have him in a bind at the moment... He definitely needs to post where he got it and what he read to lead him to believe it would work... His only option, IMHO, is to sbf and go from there....

LOL! What you want me to post the whole tutorial for the guy here??? But can you really blame me??? I have become a full believer in SBF'ing for any issue I run into tho...
If "system recovery" is installed and "recovery mode" has been set(if only once) then a "battery pull" and a "plugging in" of the charger will trigger BSR. But not if "charge mode" was last cmd exec.
Batt pull may screw up dates when restoring, so it is best to set recov. mode each time needed.

Yeah, no sleep for 3 days, that's why I said that. I meant to say, the Pete Souza Method. But yeah I got it all fixed with DAG425's SBF Tutorial. It was probably the easiest to wrap my mind around, well thought out tutorial.
In a side note, regretfully I seem to have fallen for the X2....sorry HTC. lol

Is there hope on the horizon....

When it can unmount system and restore...
the.process to get that to work can be a very long process...I was looking at his log sheet he.posted last night and it is getting pretty long. Im pretty happy with my current eclipse 1.3, ics theme and my zeam launcher. Oh and powerboost mod too. Nice combo to me still hope one day we will be able to load cm7 on here. I don't like the locked boot but I love my x2. Might be my last motor. Might not. I just want a phone that's bugless and smooth. With theming capabilities.
The combo I have now is both so despite a locked boot im a happy x2 owner.
Thank you devs for your hard work and making it possible for me to be happy with my x2 without you I would brought it back and swapped for a samsung lol

Android won't install at all

So I have 2 touchpads and have installed android on 3. One of them however, cwm won't even install anything. Its really weird. I ended up having to uninstall everything android and stick with webos. Any ideas on what to do? Or do I have a hardware issue and just stuck with webos. Not that webos is bad and I mainly use the tablet as an internet device to pull up diagrams and such for working on my cars. But it would be nice to have Android on it. Anyone else run across this issue?
I removed Android from the device.and redid the install via acmeinstaller, and considering I have done it on two other devices with no issues makes me.wonder what happened on this last one. Android was rebooting a lot so I tried a wipe and reinstall the rom but cwm would reboot itself seconds after hitting the rom folder to execute the rom installation.

webosdoctor its only for restoring webos so don't know that it will make much difference. cant give u a link, cause not allowed to but if u take a look on webosbuzz you'll find it all.
before using it, it would be best to remove all preware especially kernels & patches.

Agreed. I only mention this to put it back to stock and thereby eliminating any variables. I find his predicament rather odd so I was just saying he should do that and start from scratch. Then the community might be able to help him a little better.
i know not a lot to go on, hard to throw in something useful.

The same using since 0.1, ICS was the reason updated my phone to the photon Optimus One was rough, that and the guy who owned it got fired from my parents company an since ending it would be just as expensive as keep it on its mine.
So instantly rooted, cwm, ICS so don't really know if its a preexisting issue or not but I've slowly gotten SOD on everything, even 2.3 roms. Why I was wondering if cwm was maybe not properly clearing data.
I have this same type of flash on all my devices. When i flash a new rom, i usually flash on all my devices at the same time. I start with my MoFo and while that is doin its thing, i would flash my other devices and go back to the MoFo in between. By the time i am done flashing my last device, i can finally flash my Mofo. Multitasking Now i gotta come up with a new process...

Also, watch out...apn-conf not changed, so you'll still have to edit your apns manually after if you don't replace the file...I'd still replace the file in the rom, as for some reason, the apns sometimes fall out...since that file will set it up right from start, it won't disappear

Easy way to fix....replace the "APN" file I put up, and go into APNs and have it "reset to default"...the system should read that xml file and appropriately edit it...

Eclipse bootstrap froze

Hey, I opened eclipse parts to open bootstrap recovery and once I pressed recovery mode it acted like it was going to reboot into it normally but it just hung on the red M screen and I had to do a battery pull to get my phone running again. What caused this this time? About a week ago I had to sbf to 2.3.4 and reroot 2.3.5 then I just restored a eclipse 2.2.1 backup. Since then I flashed eclipse 2.3 over it and everything has been fine. This is the first time I've tried entering recovery though, is something screwed up?
Edit: yup every time I enter recovery it freezes at the M. An no, clicking install recovery does not help even though it says install successful.

Hmm, looks like all of this got covered in the Eclipse thread anyways. Well, I guess you are out of luck and need to SBF. It sucks, but if you have a recent nandroid then it's not the worst thing ever.

Yup I've made backups and restored numerous times. The problem isn't not.knowing how to do it, its just that my recovery is suddenly gone. Nothing I can do currently to get the phone to boot into recovery.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll get it sorted.
I had a simular issue with my droid x2 #5 (went threw 6 of them and said i had enough) but what i did was kept clicking install on the bootstrap it seemed to work i did it like 4 times. It also doesnt like to play nice with power strips sometimes. I also deleted the recovery using rootexplorer but i dont recommend that cause things can get all screwed up
Still having trouble?
This happened to me before a while ago.
I let it sit at the red M for what felt like forever and ur finally loaded BSR.
Yea, I've been told to do a wipe and start again but I just dont wanna do that so im hoping it will start working outta the blue lol. I'll try the new suggestions, thanks guys.

Yea i can definitely understand that
Just be patient with it
Make sure you have good amount of battery AND make sure you are defintly plugged into the wall outlet.
Also, make sure your charger isn't malfunctioning(plug in while phone is turned on, go to settings>Battery, make sure it says "Charging(AC)" and not "Charging(USB)" , I had the OEM charger that came with my x2 basically die on me and that's what happened before it croaked, it wouldn't recognize as being plugged.into a wall charger, and if the device doesn't see AC current coming in, it won't boot into BSR)
Another thing you can try to do is press charge mode within BSR app in Eclipse settings. Then reboot the device(reboot twice for good measure ) go back into settings,.eclipse settings,.bootstrap, and press install recovery(after it says.completed press it again a couple times just to be certain lol , let it tell you competed each time before you press it again) THEN plug phone into wall without leaving app, then press reboot recovery(or recovery mode,.sry.been a while i can't remember exactly what it says lol) and then walk away, go do the dishes or something or take a shower.
Hopefully that will get you in. Good luck!
You can also try doing a cache wipe from stock Android recovery. Never know, that might help, and you won't lose any data but doing that
