Just installed this browser to get rid of the annoying "browser not responding" and thus far, having pretty good luck and really liking the browser, much more than the stock.
My only gripe is, why can I not see the address bar when scrolled down far on the screen? For example, while in any other browser, if I am far down the page, as long as I "pull down" the address bar appears, but while in ICS quick browser, I have to scroll all the way back up to the top.
Is this a setting I can fix, or is that just the way it is? I hope is can be changed because I am really liking this browser.
Thanks!
if you tap once on the visible tab title area the address bar appears.
hope the above makes sense.

I tried that, I figured that would do the trick, but no. I have to go all the way back up. I wonder why this is. For example, I tried it on facebook as well as google news...somewhere I was able to be far down.
No other ideas? tapping in the tab area does nothing.
I been telling people about this browser for awhile now. It's badass! To get to a tab without scrolling all the way back up just tap the 4th button from the left next to the recent tabs key. It's what I always did. Hope that helps you.:good:

I changed UAString to Desktop in debug mode but websites still load as mobile. Any idea how to do it properly?
Wish I knew, but I so far haven't heard anything about it in terms of a solution. Its one of the only things holding me back from flashing TouchWiz, because I know it would aggravate me way to much
I've tried using the stock browser apks from the xoom, transformer, galaxy tab 10.1 on the touchwiz rom and still nothing. I think I'm doing something wrong though.
Also, how about a fullscreen mode in the stock TouchWiz browser? I have found no way to do this like in all other browsers. The top bar is always showing I think.
And Jesus, no re-flow of text on pages to resize to fit when zoomed in right? F'in riduclous.
My problem is the opposite, I cannot get out of full screen mode. WTF!!!!!
Nevermind, I have some type of popup that occurs when I touch the right side of the bezel.
you can change the UA string the exact same way that you would in any other android phone.. just type "about:debug" into the address bar, then go into settings and select "debug" tab. It's the second setting.
@gdog1977, you have quick controls enabled in the "labs" tab of the settings. touch and hold either side of the screen until a menu pops up, move your finger to the very bottom icon(four horizontal lines), select "settings" in the popup, and then select the "labs" tab on the left. then de-select the "quick controls" option.

Yes most of us are quite well aware of the about:debug mode, but again the problem is not switching it to the desktop UA, it is getting that setting to actually stick after reboots, etc. Anybody have any other ideas??

hmm.. I've never had this problem. no idea why not.
I really like the web browser that comes with android, it fits websites nicely to the page unlike say Opera. But what is with the touch? it's always lagging behind, not like it's slow, but like they enabled some sort of smooth into action setting or something. If you move the page up and down, you'll see it's like it's chasing your finger. Is their a way to make the touch fast and on point with your finger like with Opera?
Can't answer your question as I've been using Dolphin Browser HD. I'd urge ya to try it if you haven't.
Yeah I tried dolphin, it's cool, like it. I kinda like the simplicity of the android browser though, just wish their was a way to fix the touch. If I stick with Dolphin i'll have to figure out how to get it to replace my web button on the bottom bar, I thought with the new gingerbread you was able to replace those buttons.

Go to your Applications drawer, hit the context button (i don't know the real term, the one in bottom left, brings up the sub-menu). It'll give you a warning about changing the 'view type' to customizable grid. Click the 'switch' button. You should be able to drag whatever application you want down into the bottom-four to replace the initial apps. I replaced the default messaging with Chomp.
When you're done, hit that same Context button and hit 'save'.
You'll also probably want to go back into that context menu, hit the 'view type' button and switch it back to Alphabetical grid. It leaves your bottom 4 alone, just re-organizes the main ones.
That 'edit' menu is also a really easy way to uninstall apps.
I have set the homepage on my TFP original/default browser to http://news.google.com but there doesn't appear to be a way of putting a Homepage button on the address bar.
Have I missed something?

You sure have....and all it required was a little playing around with the Prime.
When you have the browser open, in the upper right hand corner are 3 dots...click on those and the bottom choice is SETTINGS. Click on that, and DADA....you can set your home page.

He knows how to set the homepage. He's asking if there is a button to click on that brings you to that homepage.

Yeap, I've already set the homepage, I'm just trying to find out how to get to it from the browser main screen!
Anyone?
Only way I have found is to open a new tab which will then go to your home page
Have gone back using X-Scope as my default browser on my phone after their recent big updates but 2 things i cant seem to find out, whereabouts is the address bar gone to type in website URL's and why after closing a tab does it then ask me to exit?
Thanks
If you scroll from the top, you'll have the url bar back.
If you've got no opened tabs, it will suppose that you want to exit, so it just asks how.

sorry mate that isn't working there is no option that i can see to type in a URL at all
in the previous version before the ICS update you could just close the tab and X-Scope closed, with this you close the tab and it then asks you to exit, surely you can just close the tab without having to click on exit too.
anyone any suggestions?
Updated my Vodafone firmware about a week ago, now running the BULP7 4.0.3 firmware.
In the previous version of the standard browser, when scrolling down large web pages, you could reveal the task bar at any point by changing to scrolling up. Now you need to scroll all the way back up before the task bar can be revealed. I used to use this lots when wanting to select another bookmark, without having to scroll all the way to the top of the web page. There's a new sidebar that can be switched on at any point when browsing, but it doesn't let you access the bookmark icon.
Anyone have any advice? I've tried most browsers, but settled on the standard one when they implemented the task bar enabling in the last version, would prefer to stick with the standard browser - maybe I'll see if I can hunt down the previous apk.

By "task bar", are you referring to the address bar? It also shows when you press the menu button, doesn't it?
And I don't think my standard browser ever did this. (show the address bar when switching scrolling from down to up) Though, the newer versions of Dolphin Browser did.

I guess it is the address bar, and the previous version of the standard browser certainly made the bar visible when changing from scrolling down to scrolling up, regardless of whether you were at the top or bottom of a webpage. This was the only thing that meant stayed with the standard browser. But with the new version of the browser, you need to scroll all the way back up for it to be visible.

Ah, things are different on the ICS browser from the GB browser. Sorry. I'm unable to answer this question.
Aha, you mentioned the menu button made it visible. I've now discovered if I hold down the menu button it eventually makes the address bar visible. If I just select the menu button I get the menu list for browser settings.
Maybe not a complete fix, but I'll see how I get on with this.
Another tip for you is to hold the back button to get direct access to your bookmarks. Hope that helps out a little.
go into the settings menu then to lab and enable fullscreen and the other option then you can get a action to show address bar from touching the edge of the screen.
