so i just got my galaxy tab 10.1 (p7500) and have been playing around with it and its pretty cool, posting from it now...
the only problem is that i cant seem to get facebook and twitter to be push, both from the socialhub app and from the individual facebook and twitter apps... the settings on the facebook app and sync settings is the same as on my sensation where the push notifications work perfectly, twitter does not give me option for push notifications and did some digging on google and found no luck but did see that there is a push system for android... any ideas will be grewtly appreciated
apologies for any noob mistakes such as posting in the wrong place or things like that, just really trying to get the most out of my tab...

I have an issue with the HTC Mail app when I setup my Gmail and Google Apps accounts as exchange. They constantly sync! Every second the circle of arrows appear in the notification bar and I continually cancel sync in Accounts & Sync but to no avail. I want to use the app because it seems to handle text rewrap and attachments better than the Gmail app installed on the phone. I also like the widget. I only have them to only sync mail. Calendars and contacts are synced through Google. I've searched and can't seem to find an answer.
Check the TB android development or apps/themes forum, I believe there is an mail.apk floating around that fixes problems.

It seems the mail.apk that is floating around is for security issues with the mail.apk on the thunderbolt. I don't see anything in the threads I found by search that addresses the issue I am having. Thanks.
Oh, sorry about that, are you running the stock rom?

Yes I am running the stock rom and I am unrooted.
In that case I would call VZW and tell them your problem, maybe they know a fix , or you could try HTC and see what they say about it.
Does the facebook push (version 1.5.1) work on any rom.
Because the push function needs 2.2. So it cant work on the stock
But i tried a lot of roms and it doesnt work on any of them.
So if somebody has experience or knows how to get it work pls tell me
iPhone, BlackBerry and all phones support push so why not ours
thx for replys
I've had same issue with facebook. Its absolutely rubbish.
I set facebook to send me emails to my gmail account (with an appropriate label and filters to keep them seperate). When facebook gets an update it emails me and then gmail pushes it to my phone. Its awkward but the only way I can get it to work, every once in a while oddly enough I do get a facebook push notification - but its completely random and on about 1percent of messages.
Google+ works tremendously well however so I assume it's facebook being rubbish. Just need more friends to move over to google+ then I can wave bye bye to facebook.

It worked for me.. But I felt it annoying so I turned off facebook sync

This is really hurting me so much inside I'm considering starting back all over again with a new profile. I love being able to sync my Facebook friends to my Android contacts but for the life of me can't get it to work back. Here's what I submitted to Facebook a week ago but haven't gotten back a reply yet:
On Android, go to Settings > Accounts & Sync > (Facebook Account) > check "Sync Contacts"
An error will show up "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."
This looks like it occurs recently, maybe about 2 weeks or so.
The problem is special to my profile [email protected], because when I replace the account with my wife's account [email protected], it can sync without problems through the Facebook app
I've used another phone and I'm having sync issues specific to my personal profile only- [email protected]. My Wife's and friends profile syncing okay with the Facebook app
Android apps that relies on accessing my friends info are not working as well. Same apps working well with other Facebook accounts like my wife's. For example, the Birthday app, which is an app I use to keep track of my Facebook friends, is working well if I use my wife's Facebook account, but not if mine
I don't know if there is something I messed with on the Facebook web "privacy settings" but I have tried setting it back to what I thought was the defaults but the sync error is still showing up. I don't think the problem is with my android setup, because my wife's account works pretty well with it, and I get the same error when I use her phone to sync my account.
Any of you all experienced this? Wish some of you can help me out.
Sincerely.

I have this same issue, I dont like the grouping or of the messages either it makes it really difficult to see exactly what email i have in my inbox. Its simple to change this feature of on a desktop, so I don't know why Google doesn't have this same feature in the mobile version
