Modem I9100G compatibles? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi people, I use to hace an I9100 but went brick, so Samsung decide to give me a new S2 but now I see that is an I9100G. i've being reading and I realize that all files between I9100 and I9100G are not compatible. I used to hace a nice and well working modem in my I9100.
Can I put a I9100 Modem to my new I9100G or is incompatible?
Thanks for your help. :good:

Used the search tool but nothing about it.
I'm looking for a list of compatible modem for I9100G with AOKP based rom too.
As soon as I switch to a custom AOSP/AOKP based rom, I loose my data connection. And it goes well when I go back to a stock rom..
Tried many roms with all the ways possible for flashing etc.. but still stuck on this ****

Same question... I have CyanogenMod 10. Is it compatible?
Thank you.

i dont think so since lot of people using i9100g started facing problems when they used roms r kernels built specifically for i9100 hence not recomnded the rom devloped for i9100 to flash with i9100p
but still u can give a try @ ur own risk

Yes you can. I have the I9100P from Orange. For all intent and purpose they both are exactly the same model except the I9100P has NFC built in. Just dont flash any I9100G firmware.

Can you get into download mode using the 3 button combo (vol down/menu/power)
if you can, flash your latest firmware using Odin from here
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=-1
If not, can you get hold of a USB jig.
PS always double check the firmware/kernel or anything else before flashing.

[Q] Recommended modem for Romania (Orange)?

Anybody here using the Orange Romania carrier (or any other network) have some experience with Galaxy S2 modems? Which one is a good fit in terms of both battery and signal strength?
Folosesc LPG pe cosmote si sunt foarte multumit de el.
XXLQ5 many of my friends in different parts in this world and they flagged that its the best after XXKI4 an i use it for about 5 days since it was released and its very good in different areas .. just give it a try.

Yea, but LQ5 could also brick your phone, since it's not an official release and only a leaked version, I would advise vladbaca to stay away from it and try LPG, which is very stable, the WiFi bug is fixed and it has a good battery life.

BVLP7 is the best modem in my opinion. It's a UK modem but lot's of Europeans use it and I also use it here in NZ

I have RR 4.07 (Android 4.2.2 ) and having some problems .... before that i had stock Orange RO with 4.1.2 . My question is , if i flash this onto my SGS2 , could this cause problems ?
Yes. Never flash a modem +ril combo onto a non Sammy based rom. You could get signal dropouts or lost imei. Only flash modem, no ril. Search for hawkerpaul's modem thread, you should be able to find the same modem but without the ril. Failing that then find another modem thread and search for the same file without ril.

Just because Omega doesn't include any other modem, it doesn't mean other modems won't work...
The modem is a completely different CPU/SoC which gets it's operating system from the efs partition and talks to the Android OS through an API.
I'm on modem ZNLF2 and it works flawlessly.

Just because Omega V8 is samsung XXLFB firmware version, on which any other Modem gives treble, so use only XXLFB with V8 as stated by the Dev. of Omega
Why don't you stick to stock XXBLFB
Have you tried making a voice call? Just to let you know that almost all the modems do not work with the new ota.

How to change i9100p to regular i9100

Hey guys,
I have an i9100p from Orange FR and it's an i9100p
I need to change it to regular i9100
Can anyone help me ?
Thanks
I don't think that's possible! Cause there is a hardware difference between I9100 and I9100G and maybe it's same for I9100P.
But I read somewhere on internet that there is no difference for flashing I9100 firmware files to I9100P But do at your own risk!
Consider reading this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640442
the difference between the galaxy s2 i9100 and the i9100p are just the nfc chip. you can flash any rom made for galaxy s2 i9100 in your i9100p, what will happen is that you will lost the nfc function... (I have one galaxy s2 i9100p)

u will have to edit the rom a bit look up a few posts the "lib" thing but most custom roms will have a i9100p version also, its just a couple of resistors all connected to the nfc chip that is left un-soldiered or missing on the normal i9100. be a bit careful though.

Try in settings/developer options --> make sure you have nothing checked in that menu. If this doesn't help you, you should consider to reflash the rom via odin, or use a custom rom of your taste.
Cheers!
Edit: do you have stock luncher or a custom one? Are you sure that your issue is not related to the mods you made (i see a different battery icon)... just wandering
Cant see your screenshot. Can you attach it again buddy..

Maybe a different kernel would solve it? That's the only solution I can come up with, since the other one was to flash a different stock ROM, but you've already tried that.

But with Wanam Lite 12.3, no have the same problem.
Ah, I use Galaxy S2 Korea version flashed International firmware or I9100 custom rom.

Well, you found out the problem then Do try to read before flashing different ROMs. The most popular custom roms are for the international version, and many people who have other variants face similar problems when they just flash away without reading.

Your phone, Galaxy SII Korea, should not be the cause of the problem.
My friend has M250 as well and I've helped him flash almost every custom ROM out there.
Contact the developer of Wanamlite first on the Rom's thread.
If he nobody can help you out, then report here
