[Q] MTP connection doesn't work on GB 0.62 - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi there. Sorry to bother, but I've been for a long time on GB, build 0.42. Everything worked flawlessly.
Some time ago I updated to build 0.62. Again, everything's alright. Or at least, that's what I thought.
Today i tried for the first time to connect my phone to PC Companion. Couldn't do it. I switched to MSC mode, and the connection worked. I switched again to MTP, and then again it didn't work. I closed PC Companion, and realized my phone didn't appear among the connected devices.
I checked and found out that the device is recognised, but my PC can't connect to it.
I tried updating drivers. Drivers were already updated.
I tried uninstalling drivers, then I plugged the phone. Now Windows can't install proper drivers, as you can see from my screenshot.
How can I fix this? Is it possible to manually install those drivers?
Thank you anyway!
EDIT
Now drivers have been installed again. But the device doesn't work, so......

You didn't mention which OS are you using...and whether 32bit or 64bit.
The problem is, that there are no official fully working drivers released for Sony Ericsson Android MTP mode.

Win 7 64 bit.
Never mind, just downgraded to .42 again
Thank you anyway!

Also got Win 7 64bit.
There are no working drivers for 64bit systems, so can't be used.

Strange, since my .42 GB works well in both MTP and MSC mode. Thank you!

Help! Can't root (Step3)

Hi everyone, I have an X10a and managed to get upto step 3 without any drama. Once I try to do step 3 however, it says that the device wasn't found. USB debugging is enabled and everytime I plug the phone in, the windows device manager thing comes up and tells me my phone is an X10i. Then it says there is an error and the new hardware might not function correctly.
I have the latest Pc companion and everything. Any ideas?
Phew never mind.Just needed to let windows do it's thing
Can you elaborate how did you overcome device not found problem in Step 3?
I have the same problem and tried with re installation of PC Companion, SEUPS and doesn't work.
After Step 2 both of my computers can't install proper drivers for the phone even though the SE PC Companion and SEUPS detects device.
For some weird reason Windows detects my phone SO-10B (or X10) as X10i in Device Manager and don't know why. I tried to install manually drivers through Device Manager but it wouldn't let me. I tried Step 3 procedure on 2 Windows 7 computers 32bit and 64bit.
I rebooted, I changed USB ports.
It just doesn't detects it
Help, please. I'm quiet desparate
Install PC Companion then it will work its got some needed drivers
If the device manager pops up and asks you what to do, let it install drivers. Just let it search automatically and as thor said, you need pc companion.
EDIT: What I did exactly was go into control pannel -> Printers and other hardware -> add hardware -> yes I have already connected the hardware. Then let it search for updates. It took a few minutes for me until it managed to find the drivers. I'm on 32bit XP by the way.
Guys I already wrote that I already reinstalled PC Companion and SEUPS.
I do have PC Companion installed and even updated to the newest version.
The device is now detected and installed correctly.
The only problem that Step 3.cmd still can't detected it on both of my computers (win 7 32 and win 7 64).
I even started the whole process from the beginning and I'm again stucked at step no.3
Here is screenshot.

Some other advices?
-USB Debuggining is enabled
-USB Storage is enabled (I tried with disabled)
-Both computers and phone were restarted between tries multiple times.
What should I do?

Installing X10i drivers on Windows 7 help

Need a little help setting up my dev environment on Windows 7.
I had it working perfectly on my old PC running XP. I have since bought a laptop with 7 and am trying to set up a dev environment on it but am having issues with the drivers (at least as far as I can tell).
I have:
Android SDK installed - including all available components
Java 1.6 SDK and JRE installed - environment variable is set
SEUS and PC Companion installed
Rooted my phone to 026 using the original method - done on old machine
USB Debugging switched on on my phone
When connecting my phone, I get no option to install the driver. My SDCard also automatically mounts itself, which i'm not sure if that's related to my issue. Any ideas how to stop it from doing that?
When I try to update the driver software via Device Manager (browse to <sdkdir>\USB_DRIVER), I get 'Windows could not find driver software for your device'.
I've read through a few threads, particularly the rooting issues thread, and googled it in quite a few different ways with no luck. The closest I could find is XperiaX10iUser's post in this thread. Running USBDeview as mentioned, i can only see 'SEMC Flash Device' and 'Sony Ericsson X10i' that would be relevant. However, when I try to uninstall selected devices it does nothing (no error, just doesn't uninstall).
Running 'adb devices' returns a list of devices with nothing in it.
Any help/ideas would be much appreciated as i'm going insane here!
Are u maybe running 64bit win7?

Uninstall your Java and start from scratch using the 32bit versions of Java, and run USBDeview without the phone plugged in if you haven't done already.
Yes, I'm running 64bit Win 7.

I installed 32bit Java (1.6.0_20) and reinstalled all the Android SDK components. No change in symptoms.
I have run USBDeview with the phone plugged in and without.
i'm running win7 x64 and it works normally.
another day i tried install a theme (without have seus or pccompanion installed on my pc) and i had the same problem. after i installed pccompanion, it worked normally.
remember that you must have usb debugging on, to adb devices show your phone.

I definitely have USB Debugging on and PC Companion installed.
Where do the drivers for the X10i actually come from? The phone, SDK Drivers component, SEUS or PC Companion?
What am I missing?
Does anyone else's SDCard mount itself when plugging the phone in? It didn't do this on my old machine.
EDIT: I was able to remove USB devices using USBDeview. Just need to right-click and 'Run as administrator' (which is odd given that my user is admin). Didn't help me installing the driver though. Still can't find anything when pointing to <sdkdir>\USB_DRIVER.
My <sdkdir> is C:\Android\SDK. It shouldn't matter that it's not the default path should it?
EDIT2: Apparently, DoubleTwist has an auto USB mount option. Doesn't make a difference to the driver issue though.
Ok listen to this, it will seem a little crazy but i wonder if it will help
Install pdanet the desktop version ( its a program used for usb tether ) the idea is that this program installs the sonyericsson drivers with it, just follow the instructions of the installation process and tell me how it goes..

When im using Seus, it fails flashing in about 90% of the process... when booting my phone, just a quick vibrate with green flashes once. Do u have skype account? Hope u have time and can help me. Most of the links in xda our outdated. And i know my phone is outdated too. Thanks and more power

[Q] Win7 64 Cannot Connect phone mini Kies Froyo Update

So, quick backstory. I have two PC's at home. A brand new win 7 64 bit laptop, and an older XP desktop. Neither will recognize my vibrant, and never have. At work, I have a win XP desktop, and I can connect the phone to that and use mass USB storage and move stuff around just fine, so I've gotten by in that regard in these 6 long months.
Then comes this #$%%^$#$ Froyo update. Who thought it would be easy?
I have downloaded kies on each machine. (As well as ODIN, but same issues.....computer/phone wont communicate). I cannot get my two home computers to connect to the phone, no matter what settings. BTW, I have rooted my phone with OCLF and subsequently un-rooted before trying any of the following. I have not flashed or updated the phone otherwise with any other software, other than what apps are available in the market.
I've tried
-USB Debugging on/off
-all 10 USB ports between the three PC's in all configurations
-deleted all USB drivers and restarted on both computers
-installed the appropriate drivers from samsung for each pc
-wasted 7 hours with samsung support troubleshooting to no avail
The USB cable is fine. The most promising progress is on my work PC, where I got Mini Kies going, connected and started the update, it finished decompressing the binary files, but then a USB not recognized warning pop up and kies kicked out the update.
I have installed, reinstalled the drivers for each system several times with samsung support. Nothing is working.
I don't know what else to do. This is the most frustrating experience in my life. Any suggestions or similar experiences that have been remedied?
I was having promblems also but eventually got it to work for me on an xp machine on stock jfd. It updated me to ji6 then I did the ka6 update when it was released. I gave up on my win7 system lol. Is your xp system 32bit or 64?

same here i have a win7 64 bit machine, i can connect to normal kies 1.51. i tried to update, it downloaded the files and just got stuck when it started putting it on the phone (luckily, it did not start the installation so i was okay).
mini kies shows that it recognizes my phone but crashes immediately after that.
i do not think the vibrant is supported by newer versions of kies, like 2.0.
I solved my problem by using my 32bit xp system.
edit: just FYI, i can connect to normal kies 1.51, sync my data and all that stuff. i also updated to ji6 thru normal kies, and I can transfer files and whatnot thru usb. I do not even think i needed to install the drivers manually
I downloaded Mini Kies 2.0 onto my windows 7 64bit machine and installed the Samsung drivers I have everything worked smoothly. I upgraded 3 phones to Froyo with no issues. here are the drivers I have

I did the Same thing it worked for me as well
The only luck I've had is on a winXP 32 bit machine, but then it cuts off the installation when it suddenly says "USB Not Recognized" (despite, um, the fact that it recognized it at the beginning, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to initiate the update!)
I'll give those Win7 64 drivers a try at home, although I'm pretty sure I have downloaded the same ones in my quest for a solution.
Do you suggest plugging in the phone, then installing the drivers, or leaving the phone unconnected and restarting the computer then trying to connect, or ???? The biggest issue on the Win7 machine is the phone not communicating with it AT ALL. Not even showing up in device manager as unknown or anything.

SOLVED
I finally got it to work, after about 15 attempts! (on a win XP machine)
Here's what I did in case it will help someone else:
When I plugged in my phone, I saw two items in the USB list in device manager. One said "Samsung Android USB Composite Device" (internal SD?), and the other said "USB Mass Storage Device" (external SD?). In this configuration, I got kicked out of the install each time after it "decompressed the binary files".
So what I did on a hunch was go to the device manager and "update" the driver for the USB Mass storage device to the "ssadadb2.inf" file included in the Vibrant USB drivers available directly from Samsung's Vibrant page.
Selected "Samsung Kies" on the USB settings on the phone, turned on USB Debugging, opened Kies on the computer, plugged in the phone, and it did it's thing.
Only took 3 days to figure it out!
Yeah its been a hit or miss. I have win7 x64 on two laptops and my desktop. It works in the desktop and only one of the laptop and I installed the same drivers for all 3

W/ WIN 7 64 Bit I upgraded my phone to Froyo.
I'm running win 7 SP1 64 bit.
Samsung told me that Kies mini and the driver is not compatible to 64 bit.
After some research this is what I have done and able to upgrad my phone to Froyo.
1. check the USB debugging.
- Samsung says to uncheck it. but if you do, you probably have MTP USB device error. So make sure your USB debugging is on.
2. After the you connect your phone, Samsung Kies Mini keeps crashing??
-Uninstall IE 9.
Solution is...
*Check the USB Debugging and Uninstall IE 9.
**Make your the battery is fully charged.
Connect phone
Start Kies Mini
I got so sick of Windows I switched to Ubuntu Linux. It's free and just as easy to use as windows. No crashes, no viruses, and it sets up as a dual boot so I can use windows when necessary.

Problem with PCC. Cannot install this application...

As stated in the topic, I have a problem with PC Companion.
The installation is ok, my XPS is detected, but when I try to use anything in it (Support Zone, Contact Setup, etc.) it says : Application not installed. Impossible to install this application, please try again later.
Totally useless as it is.
I'm on Win7 x64. I already uninstalled/reinstalled PCC, reboot my comp, but nothing helps.
I tried with a virtual machine (XP mode) and everything is ok, except that the phone is not detected.
Any hints ? Thanks.
I Just updated my phone with PC Companion. For some reason, the install wizard did not appear so I downloaded and installed it from a Sony site. I am using Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit so it has got nothing to do with the version of windows. Your problem seems unusual. Perhaps you can try installing it on another laptop or desktop.
I downloaded PCC from Sony website too, and I don't have another computer to test. I tried SEUS, but says my phone is up to date with .62 firmware, where others in my country are in .67 (unbranded sim free phone)

tablet usb not recognized with7 64bit

tried the following:
-use other computer(also w7 64bit--»same issue)--both are asus laptops home premium version iof windows
-install official samsung drivers, no difference
-usb debugging on/off with mtp»no difference
-factory reset(4.04 currently)
-Uninstall and reinstall drivers
All in all windows does not recognize this tablet for me. I just bought this tablet,
Something im doing wrong?
The tab charges fine via wall charger
I just want to put files on this tablet with windows via usb.
Please help me sort this out.
Have you tried plugging in the tablet with the drivers being uninstalled? It may work. I've had this problem before but I had Kies installed on the pc and all I had to do was update the program.

My Windows 7 64 bit system has no problems recognizing my P7510.
The only times when I've seen that error (unrecognized device) is when the cable I was using was bad. I wasted several days fighting that.
The only other suggestion is to plug in the tablet, then bring up the device manager. Right click on the failed device and choose "Uninstall". Disconnect, then remove Kies, remove the drivers, then reinstall Kies and the drivers. Maybe that'll get it recognized.
