Here is an app I saw on the SGS3 forum which works perfect on our SXS device due to our proximity sensor speed I have just tested it right now it can just by waving ur hand over the phone without touching it:
Silence an incoming call (1 move across)
Answer/drop the call (2 moves across)
Play pause the music player : works perfect with the amazing walkman player(move ur hand over the phone)
Play next (1 move across)
Play previous (2 moves across)
u can also use it when phone screen is off
More features are coming soon and there are many settings there...

And here is the apk file attached :just copy it to system/app with rw-r-r permissions to prevent app force close
The app should work as well as on any Xperia NXT and 2011 devices

Keep ur finger just 1cm over the phone..wave fast for more than one move..and slowly for 1 move..to play/ pause hold ur hand over the for the phone just for half a sec..

Sorry about the FC's.. doesn't happen on my phone so I didn't catch it while testing.
Just posted a new version 2.02 that should fix it. It should be available in the Play Store in about 30 minutes or so.

If u just read the description of this option just under it..keeping this on will prevent rom from closin it..

Same here. Even song skipping is kind of off. I have to do it multiple times for it to skip a track.
Great idea though, will definitely support if I can get it to work better.

This issue is particularly when i exit from a particular app and reach my home screen, at this point my home screen goes blank.. and the widgets take time to show up... what is the possible reason for it? Can this issue be solved?

I am using Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V (ICS)
The home issue is a redraw where the launcher goes out of memory (oom) as android system is freeing up ram foe another process and therefore you re home restarts, the fix is to use supercharger, there are threads on it so I'm not going to tell you more about it
And the contacts issue has been in all Sony ICS builds and there is a script somewhere that kinda solves it. But I cant recall where it is

I had some issues like this, I´m using Thilinac Pureness. Use Android Assistant to monitor your memory and see if there is any app consuming resources.
As other said it is because you run out of memory if you are root try v6 supercharger script.
Or simply try using a taskmanager or advanced task killer.

These can actually make it worse, dropped by oom is a totally different thing to running out of memory.
Super charging is the answer, making the launcher and phone bulletproof will stop them being dropped from memory.

There's no ready solution for a one click quality picture. If you want it iPhone style with overcharged colours, adjust white balance and ISO.

Get a good half-pro camera, e.g. Sony NX1.
The best suggestion...
You wont get much better quality as all generic camera software will use the firmware libs/drivers - you could learn to dev android sdk, then mod the camera/drivers, work out how to change the quality matrix/compression with in the camera apk, devise how to convert photos for raw image format using the camera libs/firmware for better compression/ratio etc.

You cant make xperia s camera any better than default ability,
the only thing you can do are taking some great apps, or just buy the Sony NEXF3 :good:
Here are my suggestions：
1.UCam：the best all-around free camera app
2.HDR Camera: when you click it, it will take 3 photos in same time and combined with best quality
3.Cymera: used to take a "beauty" face picture, and not look wired.
4.Line Camera: if u wanna upload ur pic on facebook and chat with girls, use it.
I personally find the camera much better than the one on the 4S. The only issue I had was that when you ask it to take a photo straight out of quick launch, it would be horrible. Blurred and over exposed. The greatest single change you can make to the Xperia S (IMHO) is to change the quick launch camera option to Launch Only. Startup time is still 3 times quicker than the 4S, perhaps more, and perfect shots every time.

how to add line in the file? when i try open it in root explorer it says i cant edit this file because file is read only
I'm getting quite frustrated with my Xperia P sometimes..
After running for a while it slows down when typing..
For example: I've written a two line message to someone, but onscreen it only shows the first half of the first line. When I stop typing it's 'ghost' typing the rest of the text.
This happens in all applications where I can enter a text message. (SMS/WhatsApp/Facebook/Browser etc.)
When I reboot my phone, everything is back to normal. But after using is for a day or two, it becomes slow again.
Does anyone know a fix for this?

It can't be because of the ram xperia P have 1gb
I used to have this delay (only on stock rom) try a custom rom (cm9.1) or any thing from your choice

That's just another proof that Sony software SUCKS, they give us amazing eye candy media apps and that's it.. had this problem with Sola few times ,thought it was ram issue, but now that u r having it with P ,it's really funny..looks like even with a 1G ram u have to reboot ur Sony every 2-3 days maximum!

Temple run 1\2 is unplayable on my xperia sola. Does not respond to certain touches and picks up certain false touches. Is it a h/w or a s/w problem, and is any solution out yet? Anybody else face it?

its coz of floating touch which is not completely removed from SOLA with CM.......... So you have no choice but to play as it is.........
And changing the ROM wont help either.......
May be that was due to Floating touch. Update you Temple Run 2. That bug has been fixed.

I this my first post. I am using lupus kernel v3 with dual recovery and using zellycream Rom 2.0
I have an xperia mini pro which was running fine with zellycream. Suddenly from 2 days the front camera option is missing and proximity sensor is also not working. I tried to test the camera from service menu , but is says this feature not supported. I am really worried because I use Skype for video chatting.

Yes i tried another rom and kernel. . Stil no change. It was working till 2 days back. It happened suddenly. I am using tiz rom nd kernel frm 1 mnth, never faced this issue before

I saw many people got this issue too after they update to ics stock .587 from gingerbread. But for me I used stock rom for 3 mnths,ultimate hd 2. 02. For 1 mnth nd zellycream for almost 1 month. Front camera nd proximity not working from couple of days. When itried to check it with the Xperia service menu option it says "my device doesnt support this function" both proximity and front camera" I dont think its a harware issue.if it is hardware issue then the camera wont work but the front camera option in the sttings could have been there...

Skype recognises only the rear camera. No front camera.
I open the service menu (*#*#SERVICE#*#* i.e
*#*#7378423#*#*) and test the secondary camera, and it
says "This device does not support the function". The primary
works fine. All other supported features work fine. Light
sensor (next to the front cam) responds too. (But the
Proximity switch doesn't. Not sure if it should. Perhaps that
could hint at a hardware problem with the connections from
the bottom half to the top slider part
