I am a Noob at a lot of this, but I was wondering if it was possible to port the new ics update from the Droid Razr to the X2. I know we lack some hardware for all functions (face unlock). But is it possible?

No. The X2 has a locked bootloader which makes it hard to easily port stuff. The closest thing we have is the CM9 released by dragonzkiller.
EDIT: I mean it may be possible to get some of it ported if someone who actually knew what they were doing and accepted the challenge like dragonzkiller did with CM9. But I doubt we will ever see it.
Thanks, I'll just wait on dk's cm9 to come out of alpha......

I flashed DK's Alpha 4 and paired with the mash-up mod, it is pretty damn impressive. If you know how to SBF, I would give it a shot.
I am on CM7 right now and I use the mms from the defy. I found it here somewhere. Would that work on cm9.

Doubtful. Most anything not based on the 4.0 framework won't work on cm9. The average result is massive explosions. That's the AVERAGE. Go for it son.

No. Probably even Samsung themselves don't.
It has never been announced, but even if it was, you would probably have a new phone before they release it.
I recommend CM7 rom because it's built on gingerbread and freaking amazing. I'm using it and not going back

I really like the CyanogenMod. Never tried Liberty though, worth a shot.

At this point i'll take anything debloated and deodexed. Gingerbread is nice too.

Would you care to explain what deodexed means? I've seen term used a few times lately and I have no idea what that means...

Deodex is about removing the odex file that is attached to the OEM files. This allows for modularity regarding themes and roms.
I know we only have like three roms total, but which one do you like to use?

Homebase 2.1 with 4.2 update has been flawless for me. No issues like others have had with the stock releases.
Tried a couple of themes over it but they eventually cause minor issues. So left it bare and themed with different launchers.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe once we get cm9, MIUI will then become a possibility.

That's what I thought. I just figured cm9 will be the first.
There is an miui lock screen app on the saurom rom but I never use it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
the others are correct. U can usually expect to see miui not too far after cm9, and we have a unofficial cm9 right now thats pretty darn good. I suspect theres a dev out there possibly working on it. I thought about doing it myself. If only i had more time. May look into it this weekend
As long as someone in China who develops uses the note

Engaget posted a look to the new Moto UI for ICS.
Lots of screenshots and it does look great (in my opinion, of course)

Stock Android still looks better.
its nice, been using it a while now and like it alot.
New motoblur is a step in the right direction with the modest amount of theming involved. They seem to have basically made their blur apps themed to blend well with stock ics which is nice. Icons are still ugly as hell though, and they changed the black statusbar? Personally, you wont find me runnin the new blueblur. For every blur app out there, there will be a better alternative in the play store.

I am definitely excited about trying the Official ICS from Motorola. I was on the stock Rom with my Photon for quite sometime before I rooted it and then started to flash custom Roms on it. In my own opinion, an small improvement with MotoBlur is a huge improvement for me.
i think ics with motoblur will be better than cm9
