The system partion is completely full and a can't write the link2sd script to the partion. Same problem as by adaway.
Is it possible to make some space free on the system partion?
thomas
you can try deleting unwanted audio files from /system/media/audio
u will get some little space by this

Hi sorry it this is posted on the wrong section but i found this for galaxy note and the file vold.fstab is equal to the one in sgs2 so does anyone know if it works??

Why don't you just try it, then you'll know
Don't forget to back up your original void.fstab file.
I personally use this kind of phone on my previous phone (galaxy SL). It had only 4gb internal (around 1.5 useable). But on this phone I don't think this really a necessity. HD games and other memory consuming apps can be saved with a lot of excess space.
Update us if it works.
Will do a nandroid backup and will try! I'll post here the results
So i have very good news guys! This does work in perfection and here are some screenshots to prove it
With original vold.fstab:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
With modified vold.fstab:
And in attachments the modified vold.fstab and the original one!
Use this with caution and of course: YOU NEED TO BE ROOTED!
Have fun!
Will learn to make a CWM that backups the original to the /sdcard and that clears /cache and dalvik cache! Or if anyone can make it for me i would be very thankful!
Thanks in advance!
Yeah,this works great,thanks.
First time I did this though I didn't backup the vold.fstab in the original directory in which I modified it.On the Galaxy W it caused me no end of problems,so I learn't my lesson.
im trying to install readers hub from this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21816258&postcount=1030
Other people have it installed, why i cant? Im using SGS v.7 ROM, should i install it on system/app or something or i really dont know, i hope you can help me!
It should work, are you installing it before the other apps.
Try moving it to system/app and setting the permissions to rw-r-r

You have to install readers hub on your internal storage. To do this copy your file via root explorer into /system/app.
Then you choose the apk by tapping it for some seconds.

A new window appears and you have to choose permissions.
Now you put ticks in the first two spots in the first line, in the first spot of the second line and in the first spot of the third line. The other spots have to be empty. Should look like this:
Then you have to reboot. You don't have to install the app. Just reboot and the app will be installed after the next reboot
thank you it worked for me
Friends here is an application called '/system/app mover' which moves apps from system/app to data/app to make more space in system partition. Then you can easily move these apps to SD card. This is the most convenient solution I have found yet to overcome system space problem for ICS/JB ROMs.
Here is the link to play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.systemappmover&hl=en
I use tassadar's multirom and arnab's app to install and boot ics and jb ROMs from sd-ext partition. This way I don't have to wipe my main ROM from internal memory and I may have several ROMs on sd-ext.

what? could you please post a link to those two apps?
Multirom apps and more infos here:

You can also move apps to (and from) /system/app with link2sd converting user apps to system Apps and visa versa

It says your sd card isn't being mounted, suggest you wipe and go back to full stock rom to test.

That screenshot was from solid explorer
Every explorer that I tested can't change anything
Maybe you're using the latest beta Magisk which it won't let u Modify System files..
Try using adb push from pc. It should work.
Or else use termux and grant permission.Then try the adb push in the termux app.
You can find it in PS.
