I'm sorry, I don't have a lot of time to sort this out. What is a bloat free stock rom. During my quick glance I seen the Rom/kernal/mod all in one thread. I seen roms with all different things added to it.
I'm in a hurry because it's for my uncle who is heading home in a couple of hours. I hate to ask.
Stock rom, bloat free.
I have only done VillainRom and CM9 on my Gs2.
Something similar to VillainRom would be great actually, with the option of adding tweaks if he wants to.
I would just go with CM9. It is bloat free and basically stock ICS.
delete. misunderstood question.
I'd go either cm9 or aokp.

I Appreciate it, but he wants stock but without bloat. I wish I had more time to read up on it. Her told me he had gs2 you see. I promised him i could do it, so I'd really be grateful for help
Wanamlite. Stock, debloated, small few tweaks.
Good solid rom.

I just upgraded to the AOKP ICS rom and I've lost my favorite text message notification sound (the bottle opener). I've looked all over the place for a pack of the old notification sounds, but they all seem to have only a few of the ones I used to have, and none of them have the one I used to use. Can anyone who has that bottle opener sound dump their notifications and ringtones for me?
Thanks!
Just rip the sound file out of the rom u were on before....kinda a simple fix my friend. if u were on stock and don't have a nandroid, just find the firmware on here and download it and there it is.

Or try Zedge from the market and see if its on there
Not sure why I didn't think to extract them from the ROM...it is a .zip after all.
Thanks!
Thanks. I was wanting that sounder also.

Would it be possible to re-up this? I sorely miss it as well and cannot for the life of me remember which ROM I was using when I had it! Thanks!
EDIT: Never mind. Found it! It was in one of my previous MIUI ROMs. Sorted. Thanks!

Listen guys im coming from the cappy. im reading these stickies but i want to make sure that im doing this right as borking my phone is NOT an option. I just flashed stock-rooted kh7 through odin. Whats the fastest way to get to ICS? I was reading that i have to flash a gb kernel with mobile odin...is this required or is there a new quicker way? Thanks fellas
Unless you want to do it with AT&T's stock firmware over Kies (which I don't suggest) then you're going to need CWM. Odin/Mobile Odin-ing a custom kernel's the easiest way to install that.

To get a custom kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery, you must flash a GB kernel while you have a GB stock system.
I've never tried this, but you could probably install mobile odin and flash the full ICS firmware of your choice without installing a custom kernel first. I don't see any reason that would not work.
Took safe route lol. Any suggestions for smoothest ics rom? Ultimatum has a lag issue when pressing home button

Also, what do you mean by "ports not allowed"? We have an entire subforum dedicated to ported development.

Again, mine is named Charlie - and screw you (not you snipe) for hatin on me (and pirate [who is pretty damn lame]) when all I did was try and inject some humor to your phobia of pink (unicorns). I guarantee with done tweaking you can make that img something else. It's just an image file that's pulled for that section of the ui coding. (unless this is coded completely differently than anything I've ever seen, I stand corrected)

Hi guys, looking to find out what stock image i want..
Hiya guys...I have recently aquired a SG3 -how do i know which stock ROM i want, im in the UK and am using Marks AMAZING Toolkits/w to root etc but have decided i want to flash a stock ROM first....the tool gives me a list of 4 to download...
Are they region/carrier specific? I am a t-mobile customer and just wish to de-bloat their crap down to a stock Samsung ROM before deciding on a decent ROM for this pocket rocket!
Do i need to flash a T-Mobile relevant ROM still?
Best Regards

Does that ROM include my necessary modem or are they a separate requirement....like for instance....radios
P.S. Thanks very much indeed
Modem and radios are the same. Yes it includes everything u need. Everything u have on stock minus most of the bloat.
There will still be bloatware, but u can delete it with titanium backup from playstore. Find a list with all the safe to remove bloatware (google search) first!
hope this helps mate

The best ROM is the one that works best, for you, on your phone. Try a few and make your own decision.
The title says it all... What im trying to achieve is to make the status bar semi transparent, and center up the clock. Im currently running scotts rom, I kindof like the stock look. Any help would be appreciated!!!

It will teach you the things you need to know to begin to LEARN to theme any rom.
The status bar is in SytemUI - after that you need to learn and experiment. Every ROM is different, sometime the files are in different diretories.
And on top of that each time the dev releases a new version you have to extract the .apk and re-theme it in case they made some changes.
It's a good starting point,
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS make a backup in recovery before you flash your themed apps, cuz even though I think I know what I'm doing, I've bootlooped them more than once!!!!
Another great tool is software called beyond compare.
Break apart the apks, put stock beside a molded stock one and see what was changed. You'll learn a good bit doing that
