Silent mode comes on by it self.. - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When entering the phone dialer, the phone automatically enters silent mode after a few seconds. I then have to go out of silent mode manually... Have looked in every setting I can think off without any luck... Would prefer if I didn't had to factory reset... Hope someone can help

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

The silent mode gets turned off randomly on my GS3. I have zedge installed, but I am not sure what's causing this.

try removing zedge and then report back

I don't have zedge installed.. But haven't figured out if any other app is causing this yet.. Will trouble shoot some more..

i forsee a factory reset in your very near future
let me tell you man ive had this phone for just over 30 days now and i have no had a single lock up, force close, or power cycle (except for the aosp roms in thew early stages )
Yeah same here. The phone has been rock solid since day one (got it back 6/20 or so). I've rooted and have wallet installed. Everything works, no issues, no lockups, no pain. I love this phone.
So should I root it then

Hmmm are you using a different launcher

I would try running Odin, if you notice lock ups after that its probably a bad phone. Also don't restore apps redownload don't be lazy lol JK but if you run Odin and its freezing still some things wrong w the phone
I'm rooted and have also experienced freeze ups and lag. There has also been times when the phone gets really sluggish... And I have to go in and clear out some of the ram and then it works fine again.
In regards to lag, I can be typing a text message, press the home button to go back to the home screen and when i do... The keyboard is still up even though im on the home screen. After about so many seconds, the keyboard disappears.

Clear data for that app

No sound?

Having trouble with my four day old s3 - all of a sudden I have no sound! Checked sound volumes set to max and rebooting but no joy - any ideas?

My friend's GS3 also having this bug. He sent it back for repair.
U can try factory reset. Backup data 1st.
If still no good, send it back to Samsung.

Wifi automatically turning on

I've noticed when I'm out and about that my wifi will automatically turn on without me doing anything. Has anyone else experienced this?
My only thought would be maybe a Google Now feature that's turning it on based on my location but idk.
Any thoughts?

Unpermitted actions removal

How do I get rid of this? Its really annoying me. The app it is detecting is setcpu if that helps
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
EDIT: the problem is still present even when I uninstalled setcpu
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
I think it is SEandroid. If you have titanium, just freeze it, or rename/delete the apk and reboot.
Thanks man. It worked. Will deleting this hurt preformance though?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
Not sure. I assumed it is just a security app.
Yeah all is good now and preformance is the same. Thanks bro
