Cannot get rid of the missed call which is on the Phone icon.
After reboot, still there.
Does someone else have this issue ?
Yes my friend's is stuck on one missed call since the first day he got it and my Samsung app shows an update even though there isnt one. We tried everything short of wiping the phone.
Next firmware
I guess we will have to wait for the next firmware update.
Try calling and missing a call and see what happens.

Nothing adds up to that '1'
I can see the missed call in notifications.

I have the same problem, the 1 missed call is stuck there, I think from the update..... i've learned to live with it
Was solved for me after wiping the phone.

I had 4 missed calls and after acknowledging it, the icon was still there it wasn't until I called that person that the icon went away. I say call for a split second and hang up. Maybe thats the trick!
It happened after the update so factor rest AND full wipe helpen to solve it.

A friend of mine got the same problem. It's stuck on "1". Any solution to this problem without factory resetting the phone?
I had this problem only when I used Touchwiz. Installed Apex Launcher, and the problem was gone

Not even close, that's just ignoring the problem with a pretty theme.

Haha, perhaps. It's better than Touchwiz imo tho, hehe

Lately I've noticed my SMS/MMS Notification Sound gets cut off in the middle of playing.
I'm using the "Whistle" notification sound. It worked fine the first day I had my phone (today would be day 5 I've had it)
I've tried restarting the phone, choosing different tones, fixing permissions, clearing caches. So far nothing seems to be working
It looks like it gets cut off when the screen lights up from the notification.
Anyone else having this issue? And if so, have you found a fix (besides using a 3rd party messaging app like Go SMS). I have the Sprint variant, stock rooted (LF9)

Yeah I had the same problem
But it only happened when my wife would text me
I did the same fixes as u did thinking that would work, but it didn't so I erased that contact put it back in and now it works right
Good luck
Cheers

Wowwwwww you know what? It only happens to me when my girlfriend messages me lol. Wtf? That's so weird! Maybe it has something to do the most frequently messaged person? Gunna delete the contact and test.
Thanks!

It does this If you set a limit for incoming texts and have auto delete on. Erase all the messages when your at the limit and it will go back to normal again

Oh that makes sense. I had my auto delete set @ 120 SMS. So I'm guessing what happens is once the thread hits 120 and you get a new SMS the notification gets interrupted by the system deleting the last message in that thread to make it 120.
Well this is all very helpful. Problem solved. Thanks guys!

Another work around for this is to use zedge to assign your sound. For whatever reason, it bypasses the issue and the sound fully plays when a new message comes in.

Hi guys,
I'm having a weird bug with SMS notifications on my S3, when I get a text it will cut short or sometimes not even play the notification sound. I've tried various tones, restarting the phone, changing the settings off - reboot - turn setting back on, but nothing is sorting it... Anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?
Thanks,
J
Same problem here, its totally random.
I've noticed this myself a few times as well.
I had it, I changed to a different notification sound and that fixed it. Not sure if you can go back after? Whistle annoyed me so didn't try.

Do you keep your phone screen down on a table, there's a motion settings to mute ringtones if the phone is placed screen down on a table.

Hi everyone..
When i unlock my s3, it plays "be-beep!!" sound. Water effect sound plays too. But at the same time "be-beep!!"
If i silence the phone, no sound.. there is not any notif. or fault or error on the screen.. it plays only once when i unlock screen.
Whats that sound??
Ps: it was playing when my s3 unrooted and stock official rom. I rooted it and flash omega v13, its playing now too...

Lol in the relevant system/media folder and see if you have any additional files for unlock screen, another Rom might have dumped a new sound file and it needs removing?

I'm experiencing the same issue. It is intermittent, but generally if restart my phone it goes away for a while. I am unsure as to what triggers the sound to start again. The only way I can stop it is to turn off notification sounds altogether (or turn the volume down to mute), but this is not practical. I have tried to find the audio file to delete it, but no luck. Happy to record the sound if somebody tells me how!

Take your accessory case off and i bet the noise goes away...
it is NFC ... near field communication... the phone is picking up your case and thinks its another device, it can be turned off in settings
took me ages to figure it out too
Addy
Cheers! I'll give disabling NFC a go (since I never use it but do need a protective case on account of having a habit of dropping my previous phone). I'll let you know how I go!

Hey, I just bought a samsung i9100 from a network company(orange) with the ics 4.0.4 version on it. Sometimes my screen doesn't work, i mean i'm typing and it doesn't respons but after i turn the phone in lock screen (1 time on power button) it works again. Oh, also it move by itself and if i type on contacts for exaple it execute my command and do one extra touch on some porson from my contacts. I'm convinced that it's a software problem but may i'm thinking wrong?

Must be the touch driver crashing....
*clean your screen, fluids tend to crash touch driver and like you mentioned locking, wiping the screen and unlocking will get it working.
If that doesn't work
*maybe it's because of some app you use crashing/colliding check and see you may might have to try un installing the apps which you installed or updated when the problem started to occur.
*if above two failed try performing a factory reset might help .
*finally flashing a new stock firmware will correct the problem if all above methods failed.

Well.....I think you have just found the answer to your question
Remove it and see if it's all good. If not, returning time it is, don't even bother go flashing firmwares. It's a brand new phone.
Good morning. Guys i was thinking that my screen protection isn't a problem because if i lock the screen and i open it again all works. And sometimes when i'm typeing a text message or i'm on browser it seems to type by itself and i'm looking scared .
p.s : i flashed a new stock rom(4.0.3) , i wiped it and i did all i could. the problem is still there.

Anyone having this issue? They randomly disappear and the only thing to make them come back is rebooting the phone. I've read things like Launcher8 does it, I had that installed but it's gone. Is this a bug with the MJ7 build?? I don't have too many text messages to cause a memory dump because I deleted them all and it continued happening.
