Hi,
I'm trying to move some widgets from the drawer but I get a message about "Due to limitations of the Android framwork, you cannot add widgets from the drawer without root access" The thing is, I do have root access. How can I get around this?
If you not rooted yet, just add widgets through the home screen not from the app drawer.
press and hold(in the home screen in empty space) and add widgets

How would I go about changing the icon & name of an application? Or removing the app from my app list without uninstalling it..
You can do this with DX-Top. Install icon packs and fonts, rename apps and hide apps.
Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!

If you are looking to change the icon and name of an app on any of your homescreens, then that's easily done with any of the newer versions of Launcher Pro. Just update the software, and when you add an icon to the homescreen, it will show you a window allowing you to change the name and icon of a shortcut. Hiding apps from the launcer is also a feature of Launcher Pro. Just go into Launcher Pro preferences, general settings, and hidden apps. From there, hide what you want.

I have the latest version of LauncherPro Plus, and it doesnt ever ask me to change the names or icons (Thats only for the dock apps)
I'd like to know if it's possible to create a proper shortcut to launch widgetlocker; I know there's an activity shortcut when adding it to desktop, but I'd like to start widgetlocker using the swipe up action of adw launcher and in order to do that it needs to be a simple shortcut to the app.
Anyone knows how to do that?

muy buena app
Hi, just Did that on my Defy. with Go Launcher, but should be the same with ADW
go to settings , select wipe up or down, then choose shortcut, there you should find an entry Widget Locker Lock now. Choose it. and you're done.
Thanks, but as I said before adw launcher lets me choose only from the installed apps (the ones which appear in the app drawer), therefore I cannot select "widgetlocker lock now".

Hi, that's because on ADW it's not in the apps section. Don't click "applications" on the main shortcut selection list. Just scroll down.
Is it possible to access the Personalize menu from another launcher somehow? Going to Menu -> Settings -> Personalize does nothing at all from inside ADW... and it's the only way to customize the lock screen and whatnot... I can uninstall ADW, go back to Sense and it works, but I don't use Sense... and it would be nice if I could just hit a button or whatever and get there without having to change my home launcher...
OK this may or may not work. I know if you are in sense as the launcher, you can open adw with the app shortcut in the drawer, so, in adw can you just make a shortcut to sense, and click that?

Thanks for the suggestion, but Sense doesn't show up in in the list when trying to add a shortcut or any widget or anything.

lol it wouldn't be that easy. I was more hoping you could find the intent in the launcher action/system function list...
My workaround is to go into applications and clear defaults on whatever launcher im using and press home and switch to sense and then personalize what i need and go back and reset my alternative launcher to default. Kind of a pain but it works. Wish i had a quick shortcut to suggest.
Hi, installed Go launcher and im loving the themes but im just curious as there is no option to revert back to the original touchwiz ui theme.... do I just unistall Go launch?? thanks
Settings -> applications -> manage applications, then click on Go Launcher and clear defaults down the bottom.

Or you can download something to manage your launchers:
https://market.android.com/search?q=home+switcher&c=apps
Just hit Settings / Preferences / Exit GO Launcher.
From here you can choose a launcher (abd make it default) by pressing the home button.

Have you tried this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.simonesestito.ntiles&hl=es ? It lets you add app shortcuts to the quick settings toggles
GoodLock has QuickStar app that allows extensive customization
or use Nova Launcher, i set it to open calculator by swiping up with 2 fingers
Thank you
I thought that these simple features are available by default in the S23 mobile phone and there is no need to install separate applications.
