1st and great but whats onava and whats the camera libs for... better quality and stability?

Onavo Extended Patch:
http://www.onavo.com/apps/android_extend
the original version is only available for a few devices. My guessing: this is a patch that put this app works on our ray.
Camera Libs :
http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/2011/11/17/camera-libraries-available-for-sony-ericsson-phones/
EDIT: Is this for developers only?I can't find any app in the market right now capable of adjust ray camera's ISO, hopefully sometime later this issue would be fixed.

On JJ rom, only flash Onavo Extended Patch via cwm?

As I flash the Camera libs on CWM, my Photolight has gone, so revert....

If you are using WinRar then drag libcameralight.so from Restore_camlibs.zip to 2011_dev_cameralibs.
Or try this zip from my attatchment.

i dont know, updates for 2011 devices maybe. i copied from sony opensource and didnt get any general info. since its camera libraries then i guess you can try camera/video record or anything related to camera (im not into camera, just wanna share). if doesnt satisfied you enough, you can revert back to old libs file.

I'm back on Gingerbread. Could you post screenshot of the camera with your mod ?
That's how pictures look on the ICS build I tried:
Sent from my MT15i using Tapatalk
Hello,
Thanks for the fix. Actually I didn't install it by recovery but I added the camera files into my little bit modded ICS SE.Tweaked rom fot xperia neo (post here)
So now the colors are respected and video recorder works, but is laggy, and it's not possible to take a picture.
if you install it by recovery i think you can take photos
Can't we just take the camera part from the Arc S ROM?
maybe but you know arc has one camera but neo has two.so i use neo's camera driver.

bad news. I think it's your ROM's problem.I use stock system.img , userdata.img and my boot.img.than flash DooMLoRD-ICS-APLHA-wifi-bt-gsm-ENABLER-v01.zip and camera_fix.zip to my phone.wifi, bt ,gsm ,camera work well.
And you say your wifi can't work too,so I think it's your rom's problem.
Actually I didn't change important system files, my rom has the same structure as the original ICS SE.Tweaked rom so maybe the problem comes from the SE.Tweaked ?
But I'll try to install your zip with the original rom to see.
Hew nothing to do with us thanks.
Copy n past rom
i have applied the fix ... the red colors are gone ... normal colors now but on taking a picture (camera not available) message appears.
flash not working neither in camera nor in flash programs.
video recording working but a bit jerky.
my device is neo ... using ics tweaked.
please use stock system.img , userdata.img and my boot.img ,don't use ice tweaked.

[OFFICIAL]ICS beta ROM available for unlocked 2011 Xperia™ smartphones

Source: Android™ Ice Cream Sandwich beta ROM available for unlocked 2011 Xperia™ smartphone models
Official thread by Kalle: [ROM] Official Sony Xperia ICS Beta ROM for arc S, ray, neo V
As a follow-up to the previous alpha, Sony has released the official beta of the upcoming ICS update for 2011 Xperia models. Unfortunately, this beta is currently only available for Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray and they must be already running the latest firmware (4.0.2.A.0.42).
What's new?
Updated UI – We hope you will be happy to see that we have added a number of UI elements from ICS, as well as some new UI features already introduced in the Xperia™ S we announced in January.
Lockscreen and Face Unlock – We have added a shortcut to the camera directly from the lockscreen. Also, when you’re listening to music you can control the music player without unlocking the phone by using the music control icons on the lockscreen. In the coming final ICS upgrade, we will also include the face unlock app from Google for all phones that has a front-facing camera. The Face Unlock feature uses the front-facing camera in combination with advanced object recognition algorithms to provide a new way to unlock the phone. However, since Face Unlock is a Google Mobile Services (GMS) app, it is not included in this ICS beta ROM.
Connectivity turned on – Since we published the ICS alpha ROM, the GSM modem and FM radio have passed the certification and type approval, and they are therefore turned on in this ICS beta release.
Updated email client – The UI has been updated, and simplified email management has been added.
Quick dial – We have added a quick and easy way for you to make phone calls. See how it works in the ICS beta ROM demo video.
Please note that the Google Mobile Services (GMS) apps (for example Gmail, Google Maps and Face Unlock), Bluetooth™ and Wi-Fi™ are not included in the beta release due to that they are still waiting for the certification and type approval to be finalised.

[Mod][ICS] Camera.apk with better audio quality/video bitrate/use at any battery

Hello guys,
I have enjoyed Potatoman's camera mod for GB in the past (original thread). I recently updated to ICS (WanamLite Rom) and I did not find any alternative to Potatoman's camera mod for ICS. So I just tried myself. This is my first mod by the way.
Basically this mod replaces the Camera.apk in ICS.
Features:
- Use camera/flash at any battery life
- Remove camera sounds (thanks wanam)
- Increase audio bitrate to 192kbit/s (48kHz already in ICS camera)
- Increased video bitrate
1080p: Normal - 17MBit / Fine - 24MBit / Superfine - 30MBit
720p: Normal - 9MBit / Fine - 13MBit / Superfine - 17MBit
I have not modified quality for resolution <= 320:240
I have only tested this mod on my Galaxy S2 WanamLite XWLPT and XWLPU but it should also work on other ICS Samsung roms. Hope you enjoy it, if you have any problems or suggestions feel free to post.

not work with 4.0.3 isc stock rooted rom
Hi, thanks for the post BUT it doesn't work with: RootBox 1.7
Please upload the original camera.apk so we can undo the changes and get our camera function back to work.
Thanks
Hey, thanks for the mod, but it've been created some time ago and working nice, you can see it here:

The most needed camera mod is for AOSP camera for CM, AOKP and all Nexus-based ROMS. It would be great. I'm using Modded camera on my ICS firmware, it works great, difference is so noticable!
Thanks for your work, you rock!

Thanks for the feedback. Have you tried deleting cache and dalvik-cache (if you have Camera.odex, rename to Camera.odex.bak)

Oh, sorry I have searched very hard and did not find anything. Also I am not sure if the one you linked has all the features because the main point for me was using the camera at any battery life

I forgot to mention, this is for samsung rom, sorry. I will download RootBox now, extract Camera and upload here for you. Maybe I can also take a look at it and apply the mods there.
Edit: Here is stock Camera.apk from RootBox 1.7

great job, but I worked on stock firmware GT-I9100UMLP6 Telcel-Mexico, opening the camera gives FC, and did wipe cache and Dalvik-cache. :crying:

Hi,
May I ask what version this firmware is? Did you rename Camera.odex to Camera.odex.bak in /system/app before wiping cache/dalvik?

That would be lovely!!! Thanks man! You could try just to mod the AOSP camera from CM or other Nexus-based ROM, and it will work on all other AOSP (RootBox including) roms. JB version appreciated.
Thanks!
EDIT: I'm digging for touch to focus or just manual focus video camera option and no result. Is it possible to implement too?
Never mind...
Hi
I guess this Works with Wanam 12.4 (XWLPU) , right?
Cheers

I am currently using Wanam 12.3 and it's working perfectly there. I guess it should also work on 12.4
Btw: Thanks for reminding me to update
Edit: Confirmed working on 12.4
Seems to be working on NeatROM Lite LPG 3.0.1. Thanks.

No, just on Sammy Roms!
Please update this package for JB leak LSJ or Wanamlite JB V13. Thanks!!!!!
Out of all the camera mods I've tried so far this seems to work the best, full quality audio and video with no shutter sound!
Please continue your amazing work for JB
Thank you so much!
Edit: only thing is that it takes 3 seconds to save a photo (NO, see below) vs the 1 second with other apps but this at least works the best for me so far and is the only mod that supports high bit rate video!
EDIT: please ignore edit, turned out blink detection was on which added the delay!
