Question regarding the camera button - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Is it possible to have the camera button open a third party camera app? I really like the camera button but would prefer to use Camera Zoom FX

I believe that if you install the app when you go to press it it should ask which one you want to open, stock or it will show you the list of all applicable apps, at least this is the reaction I got in every other device.
Now I know that because of the apple injunction we suffered this may not be the case if your fully stock so you might have to search the threads to modify your build.prop in order to get this working.

I actually went inside the camera Zoom app and there is a setting for making it the default camera

What's this app name?

Hello I'm jonathan michael. And I was wondering if someone knows this app.
Description of the app:
This app needs of root access I think lolz. It has the options to turn to the next home screen by passing your hand true the phone without touching it and it don't use the front camera to be able to use this options. It also can turn the device off by passing your hand up or down left or right whatever the option you choosed, and you can do all this without touching the device or use the camera. It just like a hand motion thing. I'm hoping someone knows what's the name of this app!

Use camera button as multitasking key Sony xperia s

Hi everyone
can anyone please help me find a way to use the camera button of my sony xperia s as a multitasking key
i have upgraded to ICS but i still have to long press the home key to launch recent app list which is very annoying.
Thanks.
Its like gingerbread, long press to show recent apps, as far I know it can't be done yet

Im not experienced in this field but my logic tells me that its only use is for the camera since its a hardwarebutton.
Good idea though.
In case you want the soft buttons that ICS provides there is a thread called on screen buttons mod in the dev section.

Don't you think changing the function of camera key would be a bit weird? Everytime you have to switch between apps, you'll have to reach the cam key. Waste of time, if you ask me. And I don't think it has been done.
You'd better enable the default on screen buttons of ICS.

Tap-to-Focus Camera

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a camera that well-supports tap to focus?
I'm usually back and forth between CM9 and CM10 and I use either the stock Camera in Cyanogen or Camera ICS+ and neither of them seem to support tap-to-focus. I can only choose Auto, Infinity, or Macro and can't adjust the focus manually so I've had so much trouble getting pictures of text properly focused.
I just wanted to know if anyone had a recommendation for a solid camera in Jelly Bean/ICS. I know the stock Samsung camera supports it but the application is garbage otherwise and I don't use the stock ROM.

Are you talking about just having it focus in the middle? Tap the screen and it will focus
Or do you mean being able to focus on a certain area of the picture? I want to be able to focus on an area. I believe the touchwiz camera does that but I haven't had a touchwiz rom in a long time......
I did find that camera 360 does it.
Which is an ok app but it's a bit hinky in many regards.
Anyone know of any other apps that do this?
I found this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.starvingmind.android.shotcontrol
It has the function (see the yellow squares in the first pic) but they aren't active on my phone. I'm running a AOSP ICS rom.
I'm wondering if it works on a touchwiz ICS ROM?
I suppose the odds are slim someone has the app and is on one of those roms.
I guess I'll flash one and quickly see and report back.
Shot control ita the best professional camera app out there

Any idea why the touchwiz camera can do the focus but shot control can't. I sent the developer the configuration and it says those are turned off.

JB 4.1.2 Camera App

I am looking forward to buying a camera app called Camera Zoom FX (which looks really attractive by the way) , but I saw a lot of free one's and there are several mods here also so I would like to take an opinion, is it worth it? Or is there some other app free or even better than that?
Note: I actually like the several extra features given, especially "Burst Shot".

Hmm no replies so I guess not many people tried this, well fear not I am using it now and it makes the stock camera app look ugly, the burst shot, stable shot modes are amazing and it has a super zoom feature control. Fully recommended.
