Stock Rom does

Try MeanRom. Pretty decent and best in class performance thus far imo.
Try testing some different ones and choose the one that works best for your phone. Not all hardware is created equal.
/all threads similar to "which ROM should I install?"
I think in the end, there all about the same. Should one be faster than the other, it's really hard to tell, and how much speed do you really need out of one of these devices?
I tend to pick a ROM for it's looks rather than it's performance, Charmaleon has that nice tweak in it that allows you to color different parts of the UI, I would much rather have that, than have a rom that's 1/10th second faster than the other.
Just my 2 cents.

MeanROM gives me 5600+ Quadrants, if thats your thing.
With the stock kernel they pretty much all the same.

The best roms in opinion to try are meanrom, charmeleon, or viper rom. Frevo is okay. The thing about mean rom is that it gets updates frequently and is very fast and gets great battery life, so I recommend that rom

This is has been my lowest quadrant score on using mean rom so far. This should tell you something. This rom has great performance and has great battery life. If you don't know what are good quadrant scores anything above 3000 is a decent score. Please check out mean rom.

Verizon's Samsung Fascinate hasn’t been released yet, but the system dump has been available for about 2 days now, mostly untouched and unexplored.
Until today that is, when Justin Case (who you may remember from blowing the cover off Google’s Licensing Verification Library) and Jamezelle took it apart and ripped out the 6 live wallpapers exclusive to the device.
Proceed to the download links and screenshots: Exclusive: Samsung Fascinate Live Wallpapers Leaked, Available For Download
Doesnt work on DX on Froyo just FYI.
The "ocean" one is in the market, I installed it on my Droid incredible and it is so laggy compared to the fascinate

Fascinate= 100x better GPU.. which probably allows the smoother scrolling haha. Or maybe thats just how the TouchWiz launcher is working on the Fascinate.

From what i thought, its usually the GPU that handles LWP's and if it lags, its not the CPU's or GPU's fault, its the launchers fault. but idk haha. we all already know that the snapdragon sucks now haha.
ran across this in the market and thought it looked beautiful, plus its functional

Except for the calibration... Right Mako?
It won't let me DL from market... Error processing purchase (even though its free). I just installed another app to make sure ny market worked, and it did. Although, I think I over debloated and maybe got rid of an app that the market used.
It is sexy though.

Yeah right, apple said samsung is copy cat but better...pardon me...BEST! I really love my s3. It's a beast. ))
Battery life is amazing. I don't think there is another Android phone out there with battery life as good as the S3.
It is the easiest phone to root that I have ever had, very simple and no need to downgrade or any other easing about. It's as simple as installing software connecting to a computer and pressing a button

I see all over the place people posting their Quadrant scores. Now of course everyone wants their phone to run fast as possible..but my question is does these scores mean anything.. I have been running meanrom and his scores ate the fastest I have seen.. they have been going down over the past few updates and he does nit want to pur in some tweaks I would like so I decided to try out other rims.. most were pretty unimpressive and gave quadrant scored slightly lower but not too much. All these tons were based on the new kernel. I looked at viper and on paper it looked impressive. Once installed I coukdnt quite get it to do all it advertised but it has all the tweaks I want and so it would be nice to run. Now I run quadrant and it is 1000 less than mean. I suspect most of that is due to viper being on the old kernel. But here is the kicker.. I really do not see where my phone is any slower. One would think a drop if 1000 would be noticeable.. was just wonder what you guys think of this.. in the meantime I am going to see what the battery life on this Rom is.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Quadrant scores don't equal performance. There was a phone that lg made that at the time blew away all phones in quadrant and it wasn't due to raw power, it had dual channel memory, over all performance wasn't so good
Quadrant has nothing to do with the performance of the phone, its easily manipulated...there was a dev on the 3d forums a while back that did just that...everyone swore his Rom ran best because the quandrants were so high, but it was a placebo affect...

Hi guys.. which android version has better battery life??..jb or ICS??..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
both are more or less the same unless you change the kernel and do some tweaks, but as all know JBis snappier than ICS so i would go for JB
For me JB (XWLSD) is much smoother than any android 4.0 version! The battery lifetime is nearly the same. If you use Hirox 5.1 on JB you have a very good battery lifetime

There are dozens of ROM versions, every one can work with about ten different kernels, creating more than 100 possible combinations.
Look at what people are using and try for yourself.

JB is much more responsive and smoother but ICS has better battery life (for now, we need to get better JB fw's!) ICS sucked at first too.
