I just noticed that you were also the OP to the other thread I replied to. Just a word of caution, try to post everything on 1 thread. The mods may not like all these different threads.
Anyway, check out my response to your rooting issue thread.
EDIT: Forgot to answer your question on this one LOL. I would reflash your ROM.

Maybe try uninstalling market updates and cleaning the cache in app management?

He is using 2.1 so he can't clear the cache. He would have to use root explorer, remove vending.apk from /system/app, reboot then reinstall the market.
@shahkam I was doing some test on updating the market on 2.1 but things didn't work out. If you want to stay with 2.1 the only thing I can suggest is use erickwill's custom 2.1 which already has tweaks but it's based on the stock 2.1 rom.

Interesting...are you having trouble browsing the web using 3g/2g???
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Being blocked maybe?!
This doesn't seem an error on your rom, this seems more likely that something is blocking your download.
Not sure if this is your case scenario but i can't download any apk and others from my university.
If you are inside some company network, or something like that this most likely is the reasons.
When the download shows on the top it means your rom is trying to download, but the server may have been blocked, so it will keep trying for a long time, also may give you some small lag during that.
If you can download apk files from other sources it means that they may have blocked only using domain filter or ip filtering.
To be able to access the market doesn't mean that the server isn't blocked, only means that the main domain isn't blocked, i don't which is the server for market downloads so i can't tell you how to check this, but the best way would be to get try multiple wifi hotspots or a home totally not firewalled connection.
If it downloads but doesnt install try unmounting your SD card and download, try again and see what happens.

What app is best to freeze apps with ? Thanks
I use Antek app root manager but I guess everyone will tell you to go with Titanium backup.
I like bloat freezer it works nice
Can you just delete them? Instead of freezeing them?

It is possible to delete them from what i understand... but from what else i understand, if you delete them, you'll need to put them back if you intend on doing any of the OTA updates in the future. So... yea.... po-tay-to, po-tah-to.
titanium backup....
the best bang for your buck on any android device
I use titanium backup and just delete them if for some reason you need them back just reflash a rom.

Titanium backup all the way!

I used to use titanium backup pro up until about a week ago. Then I found Antek which does what I need it to do, all I ever really used titanium backup for, which is freeze bloatware. Never really used it to back up much stuff cause unlike most people I choose to reinstall everything fresh when I flash a ROM. It just feels newer. If all u wanna do is freeze bloatware, I would go with Antek.

Bloat freezer works well, there's also app quarantine and tB
TitaniumBackup pro is best for me

Don't delete.
It's a real PITA if you need to restore an app for any reason.
With the processing power, ram, and storage why would you need to delete?...

As for OP's question, Titanium Backup Pro by a landslide.
IMHO everyone should own this app since its like the "Swiss Army Knife" of Android apps...

System Tuner can freeze app and much more!
System Tuner now allows freezing/unfreezing apps very easily and much more features.
You can check its details here:

You should add after they have root as well seeing as i tried to install and it doesnt work on my phone(no root/unlock yet)
I normally just rename the apk in my system folder using root explorer. App.apk_fro

One of the many reason I prefer System Tuner Pro, much more features than just app management, and it's still being updated with new features very frequently.
And not the least, it's still cheaper than Titanium Backup Pro! It can actually replace both TBP and System Panel Pro for much much less bucks! And still offer more features than both apps united!
STP should be the 3rd app on any Android phone if not the first considering it offers many features without root requried!
The first 2 could well be ClockWorkMod and root for those wishing to have extended control over their phone.
I use bloat freezer and love it. It seems to be much more descriptive on the thing I'm freezing than TiB which usually reports com.something

Ok, before I get flamed, I know there's a batch option in TB to restore all apps you have a backup of in one shot. However, I have backups of a bunch of apps I don't necessarily want installed right now, but I don't want deleted completely either. I'm running Newt's OneXXX RLS 1, and he just updated it to 2.1. I just got all my apps that I want installed on this, and don't feel like doing them one-by-one again if I update. My question is this: Is there a way to make a zip or something of just the apps I currently have installed on this ROM, and then to run it on the install of 2.1 so that only those apps will be installed? BTW, yes, I'm using Pro.
I just deselect the ones I don't want installed in batch.

I've been trying to figure out something like this too. Thought there might be a way to use labels to create a set of specific apps, haven't had time to mess around with it.

I use that all the time to get rid of stuff I don't want.
Hi,
Could anyone tell me where a stock galaxy s 3 app would be installed to please?
The reason i ask is because an app i am using (six axis controller) installed itself to /data/data/ instead of sdcard/data/
Is the latter the location of which apps on stock roms are installed?
Because i am using foxhound 1.3 and my apps are all installed to /data/data/ making touch profiles for the six axis app, impossible to use, because they are saved to and imported from sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller the app would need root access to get there, unfortunately it doesn't.
All my apps are up to date and are legit versions, all paid for.
This all might sound confusing and i hope it doesn't.
Any knowledge about the whereabouts of where apps or parts of apps are installed to on stock roms would be a great help.
Many thanks.
System apps are in /system/app
All other apps should be in /data/app.

Thanks for all the replies, the problem i've got is, all my apps are being installed to /data/data/ and the six axis app needs it to be installed in sdcard/data/ apparently i'm all alone in this.
I've tried omega, foxhound and android revolution.
All do the same thing.
Yet everyone talks about the app being installed to sdcard/data/
Whenever i point the app to that location it force closes.
Really annoying.
No worries buddy, my advice would be to flash back to original ics (LG8) then root (I use CF-ROOT 6.4) and see if you're still having trouble after that buddy

hmmm.. try using Link2SD , open the Menu using menu button -> Settings -> Install location -> change from "Automatic" to "Internal"
hopefully, the directory for installation will change into sdcard/Android/data :good::laugh:
OK so after trying everything I could think of, I went with mega wipe which killed off the internal SD card and everthing in it including data, so now everything works perfect

All the applications listed are frozen with Titanium Backup. Hope someone else will have use for this

A lot of the bloatware can actually be uninstalled. Just be sure to have a Nandroid backup ready (don't do this if you don't have a custom recovery and a backup), because uninstalling some things can cause a Security Error when you try to boot. I found out the hard way yesterday that uninstalling LGSmartcardService will cause that error, but I was able to remove a lot of other things.

It would be helpful if you can list out the 'Safe to Remove' bloatware if possible,
Right. But the /system partition isn't really readily available for anything useful, so I settled with freezing it at the moment. I've heard of people running into trouble when actually removing the apps before as well, beware!

with these apps frozen do you have alternates you use that are less intrusive and memory hogs
