Find any firmware for the i9100 you need at www.sammobile.com, or through the CheckFUS downloader.
Not sure what the fact you have an i9000 has to do with this at all, though...
and with regard to odin and the root?
You want Odin ? Google it.
So far as root is concerned, CFRoot is easiest but do not rush it. Read the first page of that thread carefully, particularly the bit in bold red that says 'Help ! Which file do I use ?'.
If you read it, then come back to this thread & ask "Which kernel do I use ?", that tells me you haven't read the CFRoot thread carefully & you probably shouldn't be rooting your phone/you're at risk of bricking it.
If you do read that thread carefully and follow the 10-12 steps to the letter, rooting your phone is simple & takes a few minutes. There's nothing complicated about it if you can read/follow instructions.

Hello everyone, I've just recently switched from iPhone 4S to Android Galaxy S II. My phone info is given below:
Model: GT-I9100T
Android version: 2.3.5
Basband version: I9100TDUKJ1
PDA: I9100TDUKJ1
PHONE: I9100TDUKJ1
CSC: I9100TVAUKJ1
I have already followed the guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 to root my phone. I used http://download.chainfire.eu/50/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XW_LUX_KJ1-v5.0-CWM5.zip and used Odin to flash it. I'm now having the yellow triangle which I want to get rid of. According to the instruction, it says "(4) Find an original Samsung signed stock kernel (preferably from the same stock firmware you have, but it's not terribly important)" however, the secure kernel link which I found from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101671 does not seem to be listing any KJ1 version. Can anyone please provide me a link for downloading this? Would it be the one here? http://hotfile.com/dl/144715979/1949050/I9100JPKJ2_I9100OJPKJ1_I9100XXKI4_HOME.tar.7z.html
Thanks in advance.
metalmaze,
Your best bet would be to download the stock firmware from Samsung themselves. Unlike many other companies, Samsung has a database where all (or rather most) of their stock firmwares are stored.
Since I'm unable to post outside links on the forum for now, do a Google search for "SamMobile firmware" and click on the first link. You will have to register in order to download any files from SamMobile, but it is quick and free, definitely worth it.
Hope this solves the issue! Best of luck!

Hey |Shadow|,
I've posted a reply in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25489604&postcount=6
Thanks a lot for your reply!
Get the KJ1 kernel from here, read the first post very carefully, follow the instructions to the letter & you should have a rooted SGS2 within a few minutes

Hey omar7os, the link you gave me does not have the KJ1 kernel so far I can see? Also, the rooting part isn't the problem, the flashing of the stock kernel to get rid of the yellow exclamation mark, while retaining CWM v5's features enabled is the problem. I believe this is due to not having the proper stock kernel for the KJ1?
try to use this http://www.unlockroot.com/

Hey omar,
You're missing my issue here. My issue is not rooting, that's easy. But I'm trying to get rid of the yellow icon by following the instructions which is not working. So I believe I need the stock kernel for KJ1.
Hi
Til recently i had Samsung Omnia 2 and i know a lot about Windows 6.xx
but i purchased Samsung S2 and now i want to install custom rom ( Tweaky ROM ICS 2.0.1 by coldflid
to be precise)
I have couple questions.
Flashing with Odin is identical as flashing WinMo with OCTANS Downloader so that is clear
But how to flash with zip firmware (i dont have md5 and tar files but only Zip archive in which is packed OS
Do i need to "Root" with CF-root file and Odin ? and if i need to do that which CF-Root i must pick up cause there is lot of different versions
PS.
Sorry for bad English and thank you in advance
Before you do anything with your phone, read the Stickies. Everything you need to know is in those threads. You seem as though you're trying to take shortcuts, taking shortcuts leads to broken phones.
Go read the rules, then come back. This entire thread is wtfbbq.
I want to unroot my phone back to a normal new one and I dont know how. Please I need help
Give the forum search function a go and you'll find plenty of threads detailing steps for unrooting.
Worst case.. give Google a go and it will find it for you

Thanks a lot found it...my phone is running GingerBreadXWKE7..i would like to install Jelly Bean on it..where do I get the firmware..had downloaded CARBON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-20130823-1241-i9100..but I understand I need to root my phone 1st..
Did you even read the thread ?
Follow the instructions in the thread to upgrade your phone to stock JB, root it, download your custom rom of choice, follow the instructions on the first page of the thread devoted to that rom in order to flash it.
I am new to unlocking and flashing ROMs on Mobiles. I did my research and when I was ready I unlocked my phon and then I flashed the firmware. I used Odin 3.07 and loaded the stock firmware file into the PDA section and hit start, waited and it passed. My Firmware was:
PDA:L12 / PHONE:L12 / CSC:LE1(O2I) and when I flashed the firmware( S5830iXXMD1_S5830iBTUMD1_S5830iXXMD1_HOME.tar.md5) it ended up as:
PDA:MD1 / PHONE:L12 / CSC:MD1(O2I).
As you can see it did not alter the PHONE part of the installed firmware and the O2I I thought would have changed to BTU. The phone was however unbranded. Later I flashed it with a newer stock firmware and a similar thing happened, the PHONE part was not changed only the PDA and CSC.
Is this normal or am I missing something. Should I be using a different version of Odin to flash the 3 individual parts of the FW I got using Cygwin/splitfus2 or can I stll use ver 3.07 to apply the 3 individual parts.

Not really, you could have answered the question in the time it took you to post that but then maybe you don't know the answer.

You do know that Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i have different hardware. Hence the different device thread. I could suggest you an answer for sure. But I will not be liable if that solution bricks your phone. Are you up for it? And you could have posted this question in the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i Q/A section by the time you replied to my answer. Then again maybe you don't understand my answer.
