Hi
I just wonder it is any chance to connect two host to one android device?
I would like to connect 1x portable HDD and 1x SD Card reader to my Samsung Galaxy Note to get connection between hdd and sd card reader, just to simple transfer files between them. I already tryed connect them together via a SD Card reader with bultin host adapter via a USB socket in this device, but when I plugin a HDD to already connected sd card reader host I get an error and only a second connected device is working, so it looks like only one storage device can work in a same time. So maybe it is possible to apply some spllitter before two hosts and connect each device to different host adapter?
an usb hub, maybe?
If I understand you correctly, the problem is there can only be one host in any USB connection system.
In this case that host device should be your Galaxy Note.
You will have to be using an OTG cable and a USB hub.
The most I've ever connected at one time to my little device
was a card reader, a flash drive, 2 keyboards, a mouse, an audio adapter and a GPS.
I already have a OTG cable and the usb hub. But only one storage device at a time can be recognized by galaxy. When I plugin another one, the one already connected is automatically switched off and galaxy showing an error
I found the solution, the problem was with insufficient power, so I rebuild a otg cable a little bit to give it a +5V, and another +5V to a portable HDD and now I have exactlly what I need... a simple USB OTG BRIDGE fully controlled by GALAXY NOTE. I was need this to use a portable HDD as a photo bank (copy all of files from sd card to hdd in a travel). Thanks for your posts anyway.

Hi all. I have a problem with my tablet Archos 70 IT Rom Uruk Droid 1.6. I wanted to connect a USB stick to it. I purchased a USB host. I plugged the USB drive and a message appeared that the external memory is faulty. I thought that just the tablet on the USB input current is too small because it is only 100mA. So I bought an active USB hub. I plugged this set and the system correctly detects the stick but when copying files to the message appears: external memory has unexpectedly disconnected. I would add that in this kit - hub + active host mouse works keyboard, GSM modem Huawei E122 is not working because the tablet can not be initiated. Why stick does not work properly? On the original ROM from Archos 2.4.82 is the same situation. I should add that this happens on a few memories of mass. Regards, and please help to solve my problem. I am very tired of this situation. Thanks for any help.

So I connected the data cable (Micro) provided with the TP to the Hub and I connected my External HD to Hub but I couldn't detect the HD in TP.
So could any one please help me with the steps/ Procedure.

You need to get power to it. There's a thread about this here somewhere.... search should turn it up.
This thread shows you how to get it working in Android/CM9. I never tried it from within WebOS.

Is anyone else using a pci usb card and trying to connect your phone to it? It keeps connecting/disconnecting no matter if I choose MTP, camera, or mass storage. Works fine with my laptop or my other computer with working usb ports. I just want to make sure it's my damn computer what's causing this problem.
Note: I tried different cables.
Hi!
Please, give me advice how to find out problem root with some USB devices that can't be detected/used with my android device.
There is device like car rear view mirror with android. Phisung E06 or any of exactly same devices under different Chinese brands. Every device have touchscreen, front view camera, rear view USB (!) camera, one SIM card LTE, GPS and mini USB connector. Rear view camera connector is 2,5 mm mini jack instead of regular USB connector. miniUSB connector is for power supply and for firmware update from PC. These devices are based on MTK MT6735 chip that have only one USB port (as you see there is two USB connectors and only one phisical USB port) and 2 . Android is 5.1 Lollipop. Кernel version is 3.10.65+
I run dmesg in android console and found following. miniUSB port is connected to MT6735 regular USB port whereas USB camera is connected to inter chip USB port that normally used to work with second SIM card. I soldered DIY 2,5 mm mini jack to USB female adapter and tested it. With USB active hub with external power supply and my DIY adapter I successfully connected and used rear view camera, keyboard and mouse . They are work well. However USB card reader and U-BLOX USB GPS reciever are not detected by android. So I used USB Device Info app to check how my devices are detected by kernel USB subsystem. I was able connect hub to hub to hub and plug my devices to any port of them.
-USB Device Info app on the kernel tab view always give correct HUB hierarchy and point of connection hub/port of camera/mouse/keyboard and it's detailed info (vendor, name, etc.).
-USB card reader is shown too connected but none of my SD card recognized. No info in USB Device. No SD Card files in any of subfolder of /storage folder.
-U-BLOX USB GPS reciever was not detected at all. It's power indicator is lit still. GNSS Commander can't use reciever showing it's offline status. (P.S. Reciver is OK. It is used with PC and OTG port of my android 5 tablet)
The question are:
- why SD card is not detected in card reader
- why U-BLOX USB GPS reciever is not detected at all
I expect both of them are requre data to be recieved from host to control usb peripherial device. Unlike, for example, camera or mouse who do not require any data from host.
Please, advice me what log I need to check, what special apps I need to run, what adb and console commands can help me.
Thank you
preloader
could you plz send me the Preloader because I f*ck up my system and format the whole system :S
I've been trying to find information about this on the web but I've failed to do so.
I bought a Kingston Micro duo USB C 3.0 and it worked a couple of times (I had to manually change to MTP) using the USB C connector straight on my S9+.
I've been trying to get it working again on my phone with no luck. Everytime I connect the USB C end on my phone, it will show on the notification tray "Usb charging device" and "USB connector connected", this last one will disappear in a matter of seconds.
I've set the default to be MTP using Developer Options and even select MTP for the device once it connects, but it just reverts its status.
I know for a fact the USB C end works because I can connect it to my computer (Windows and MacOS) and I've tried formatting it using a lot of different formats, still when I connect the USB C to the device it doesn't read it.
I managed to get the drive working using my USB C dongle (Which has 2 USB A 3.0, but no power passthrough) and connecting the USB A side to it and my phone recognized the drive instantly! So I formatted the drive using my phone, connected the USB C end on the device and it doesn't recognize it.
It seems it's just a bug on the Samsung device or something. I guess Samsung is moving towards USB C but they are not thinking on all the stuff you can connect.
I found this link https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...g-defaults-to-charge-other-device/td-p/183539 and this other https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/help/note-8-usb-otg-t3680207 but so far no solution.
Edit:
I just tested my drive with an S8 and it worked without issues (the USB C end) and was able to test it on another S9's and they don't recognize it.
Mine works without issue. Not sure what's happening with yours sadly. Edit - mine's the Micro Duo 3C, but I can't imagine there'd be much difference.
Same here. Today I had hard times getting to work my USB stick and a default dongle. Every time I inserted the dongle the notification goes "USB charging device" and changing to "transfer files" doesn't change anything. Playing a bit made a 32gb stick visible in a file manager (namely x-plore) and I was able to transfer files to it. But no PC recognizes the stick so far...
