Re flash
You need to install ALL the language cab files.

Tried to install all files and then just one at a time and error comes back that there are no applicable packages..
I think the update route is not an option anymore. You should try to flash the firmware with Nokia Care Suite
So.. I downloaded and installed NCS and got files from Navifirm.
However, when I go to Recovery, the Product Support tool doesn't see the data packages - tried rescan, and I have preferences to search in the location where the data is.
Am I missing a step? I have them downloaded, but is there an installation for the data package I'm missing?
Thanks for any help!

Did you try deploying the missing language cabs using cabsender?

Copythe folder holding the files you got from Navifirm to C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products and rename the folder to the model number (as in 'RM-801' for the EU Lumia 800)
Then in NCP do File>open product and select the correct product
Sending the language cabs fixed this for me. No need to reflash or lose any data.
Goodbye for Now, Lumia..
Thank you all for the very helpful and instructive comments.
I did in fact attempt to use cabsender to send all language files to the Lumia; failed. Then tried one at a time; also failed. That's turned out to be the death nell (sp?)
I finally got the hang of NCS, got the correct files to appear, and also did the manual driver installations for x64. NCS could read my phone, but when I did the actual recovery, no matter what the phone just would not go into recovery. Would always power up and stick me either on starting or on checking mode. I even tried different button hold combos and then just not pressing anything - to no avail.
So it left me with a phone that could take and receive phone calls, but no access to ANYTHING requiring alpha input - including SMS and email.
Looking back, I think I may have also had a hardware issue. I could never get bluetooth to keep a connection properly - and many other RM-801 owners told me theirs worked fine; mine was not under warranty so was stuck. I don't know if that had anything to do with the phone rejecting the language files for 8112 and 8773, or with it not responding to any flash attempts - but wouldn't be surprised.
Today, I am thanking the Gods that I never got around to selling my HD7. I recommissioned it and got the new SIM for it and it's up and running nicely now. I figure if anyone dumps a Lumia *900 for less than $100, I'll go for it, but otherwise am intending to use this until I get my hands on a WP8 near the end of the year.
I found to my surprise that using the larger screen on the HD7 though less pretty was really refreshing. I love the form factor of the Lumia 800, but I think the Metro UI really deserves a bigger screen.
Anyway, congrats to all who had success and again many thanks to those who tried to help me yesterday and last night. Am sure we'll connect again when we have our Lumia Liquid Metal PureView WP8's!
Cheers,

Try doing a simple refurbish instead of recovery. It doesn't require any buton acrobatics, just plug the phone in after starting NCS. The only trick in this case involves renaming the ROM files to match your phones Product Code, If you choose to flash with different variant.

Interesting; I'll give it a try!
I did remember that cabsender does a restore, but that didn't work.
I thought of the refurbish, but the software wouldn't appear. I will try your method after work tonight. Might be the trick.
Still suspicious of my phone's hardware, but man, I can live with it until WP8..

Don't even bother with cabsender recovery - it uses Zune and Zune backups are uttterly useless.
NCS recovery means flashing a dead phone (or playing dead to force a different variant ROM) - that's where you need VolUp while powering on.
NCS refurbish means flashing a working phone - you plug it in normally and ROM file names must match your product code.

Hey Skrypek, you just SAVED me!! The file renaming followed by refurbish did the trick!
Also used your method to update to a UK Variant of Tango for the RM-801 - and went SMOOTHLY with no downloading and screwing around with language packs or cab files. Everything is running perfectly and can access all alpha functions SMS MMS, Email, Wifi, About Phone - i.e. every single thing that had been malfunctioning before.
I am now a strong fan of Navifirm + Nokia Care Suite - VERY easy to work with.
Now I just have to visit the T-Mobile folks and get a new microsim card!
(edit, feeling adventurous again, I cut my SIM card - SUCCESS - so now don't have to shell out another $20 to T-Mobile )
Many thanks!
I really thought I had a brick and had posted an ebay auction for parts; glad I was able to snag the listing back!
Cheers,
Skrypek..
Did I tell you you're amazing?
Thanks again!!!!
Nice to have my Lumia back!!!

Hey guys,
I was reading allot of info on the web about windows phone and the amber update and stuff.. but never a solid release date.
so the amber update is going to be released in this august, and this info is coming from some guy in spain via twitter..
so we are not sure when this update is going to be released. (ok it hasj been released)
but i have recently installed the amber update like so many others, and the update is really good, adding allot of new features that anyone with a lumia should be able to enjoy.
since windowsmania.pl doesnt offer the roms anymore (and i dont speak polish) and the amber roms aren't available through Nokia Care Suite, it could be quite difficult to obtain the roms and the necessary files & info to install this update on your phone.
i put together a few steps that will help you install amber. (especially when you never did this before!)
also this is mostly for the europian users with a Lumia 920.
please note that i will not be responsible of your own action on flashing a phone!
like only start flashing with a full battery!!
and make backups before you start! your phone will be wiped clean!
(go to settings for backup options, wp8 can make all the backups you want!)
Downloading the right files & setting this up:
step 1.: download Nokia Care Suite --> also known as NCS --> get it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?aww6lix9f0vuukd or http://d-h.st/IvF
after download install NCS.
(UPDATE: you can also update NCS itself by clicking updates in the NCS main menu.
by doing this it will also automatically install every necessary driver. so step 2 isnt really needed.. but you still need to do step 3 because it will give you acces to the update itself!!)
step 2.: download the drivers here: http://d-h.st/Mc3
install the files and reboot the pc after installing!
(includes 64bits drivers and 32bits drivers, if you don't know which one you should use, you can better stop reading from here )
step 3.: go to: C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Product Support Tool For Store 5.0 and find the usergroupsconfiguration.cfg file.
replace it with this file: http://www.mediafire.com/?r0up8y7tyku1k11 or http://d-h.st/GFW
thanks for the config file go to Jragar
(it will give you acces to Care Suite External)
Step 4.: download the rom here:
part 1: http://d-h.st/JgP
part 2: http://d-h.st/2JG
part 3: http://d-h.st/h17
(its the RM821_3047.0000.1326.2002_RETAIL_eu_euro1_425_02_240539 with product code 059R4H6) thanks for the rom goes to: blakepender
Note: i used the rom on my Dutch Lumia 920 with code: 059R016. it still works like a charm and i still have product code 059R016. so i dont think it will change your product code. (but im not sure!)
drop all files from the .rar into: C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\rm-821.
if you dont have this folder yet. create it and then put all the files in there.
Identify the phone:
Step 5.: plug in your phone, while the phone is on, so your pc can detect it. After the phone has been found by your pc, start NCS.
double click on the "Product Support Tool for Store 5.0", it will promp you for username and password, just press sign in.
If all went well, NCS already found your phone and it will give some info about it. like that it will be running in normal mode.
Step 6.: In the Product Support Tool (PST) click on "File" --> "Open Product". A new window will appear. go to "RM-821" click open.
Step 7.: Now click on "programming" (Bottom left in PST) --> "recovery". After this click on "update list" the rom file should appear.
if not check if you put everything into the right folder. (step 4).
Start Flashing:
Step 8.: Click the start button once! it will give an error. This is good! (its because it has an different product code, but it will be fine)
please note that it can take a few minutes before PST gives a "recovery - failed" notification. please be patient. press ok after you get it.
Step 9.: Now unplug your phone, and power it off. Hit the Start button once again. PST will give an error that it can't find your phone.
It will show you the option how to start your Lumia 920 in flash mode.
Step 10.: Start your phone by pressing the power button + volume down button simultaneous. when the phone starts the vibrate. plug the phone back in to the pc, and press the "Retry" Button.
Give it a minute and it will start flashing your phone.
You know its going ok if you start seeing the nokia logo with a progress bar on the phone.
Please while the phone is flashing, dont touch anything.. if it gets disconnected somehow your phone can get bricked..
When the flashing is done it will reboot and it will start wp8 with amber.
Please keep in mind that it will take allot longer to boot the first time because it has to configure allot of things.
Your phone will start and ask you what language you want, just follow these steps, after this you will have the amber update up and running!
After a few hours to possibly 2 days (tnx Mikemikeson) with wifi it will give a notice that you will have like 10 or more updates pending. do this updates to get all amber features!
like sms + call blocking.
Hope these steps will help some folks that just cant wait to get Amber and didnt knew where to get the right files.
Good Luck!
p.s. this was done on a windows 7 pc and was confirmed working on windows 8.
Thank you
I flashed my unbranded Lumia 920 product code 059R075, with this one. I can confirm that this is perfectly done. No problems so long as you follow the instructions.
Cheers for the links and the instructions OP.
Update: Persian/Farsi Keyboard and Speech are missing in this build. I am not sure about all other languages though.
works
works like a charm.

I honoustly don't know if it will work.
you can try i though. when you have PST running with your phone connected, you can look for the latest rom file available for your phone.
under "tools" click on "firmware download" type in your product code, which can be found under the basic info tab. it should show the latest available firmware for your phone.
it will be non-amber, but atleast you have something to turn back to if it doesnt work in the end..
so download this rom first before you start flashing and you should be able to try it out without any consequence.
otherwise check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44504258
its about putting amber on AT&T Lumia 920.
so good luck!

Fix missing languages
Instead of adding keyboard, simply change the system language and you will automatically get the desired keyboard. Your languages persist should you revert back to English or any other system locale.

Thank you for this info, i did not know. im transfering the files as we speak.
it should be available within the hour.
Sorry for the inconvience
Flashed this last night and it is working beautifully, I have noticed since installing this WhatsApp, Skype and Lync are pushing messages through much more efficiently and I have found my battery still has 40% charge after being used all day, usually by this time I would be at about 15%.
For other people that flash, check out this page here for all of the QR codes for the Nokia system apps.
Use the Bing Vision on each of these QR codes to force the updates down.
Thanks for providing the ROM and Instructions, much appreciated.

you can check with NCS to make sure if its really a rm-820. just look for basic info in PST.
also it should work but it will change it to rm-821. and im not sure what that will do for your provider. Probably nothing.
maybe if you check the lumia 920 dev section on this site, i know there is a topic about changing from rm-820 to rm-821.
im on a holiday in greece on a tablet so i cant search for link now. good luck and i hope you wil have amber soon!

i flashed it nevertheless! Mine was RM-820... changed to RM-821... took a day for the update to appear.... works perfectly... i do notice a slight decrease in battery life.... plus my heating issue (top corner heating when using any app) has NOT been resolved
however great guide man. the flashing worked!
i finally figured out how to get CWM installed and working, after a couple of months of fighting with it, off and on. so, i guessed that meant i have my bootloader unlocked - "wrong!".
i deleted some thing that wasn't supposed to be deleted, then the damned cell network and lan network stopped working (keeps saying com.android.phone has stopped). so i was going to put cyanogenmod on it, because i thought that i could, and just be done with the whole "missing apps" crap. it turns out "just because you CAN put CM on it doesn't mean you CAN put CM on it". i bricked it. i have NO options to "load" or "flash" or "boot" any thing when the phone is booting up. i would love some clarification as to what i CAN do from here.
i would rather install CM and be done with all of this, but i'll take any advice that gets rid of the problem. the biggest problem is understanding how to put CM on your phone, or to do any thing at all like that, when you cant get into any kind of recovery / boot menu, even though you ARE rooted... i don't care if i have to install cyanogenmod or some one else's CWM backup, i just don't know HOW to do it - especially with no windows (only linux). it's a rooted p769v20d (originally p769v10g).

i was going to try some stuff mentioned in other threads, but i don't have access to a windows computer - and i don't think i need to root my phone again any way, considering it is still rooted.

fwiw, regarding the mysterious deleted app:
i lose my internet signal as soon as it says "com.android.phone has stopped", then i get it back again right before it says that message again - it ALSO shows a cell-phone signal right before that message. this repeats over and over and over every few seconds - aggravating as hell...
here's the apps that i still have installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45774770

thanks, but i think i finally got it working. i never knew, after all this time, that after you do the l9recoveryinstaller, at the reboot, there are no cues to tell when when to hit some buttons, and it's not clear what buttons to hit. here's what i did, and, so far, its progress:
1: be rooted
2: install busy box, completely
3: install l9recoveryinstaller
4: reboot
5: after you see the LG logo, hold vol-down until you see the flashing lights (i thought you see the flashing lights and THEN you hit vol-down, but i was wrong).
still fighting to get a rooted rom installed ...
if i choose "install zip from external sdcard" is says:
"finding update ... opening update ... installing update ...installation aborted".
if i choose "restore" instead of "install" it will not let me select any thing, it just keeps saying file not found, when i try to select any further options, whether "restore" or "restore from external sdcard" or "advanced restore from external sdcard". and i already checked to make sure the sdcard was mounted...

I think your phone bootloader is locked, you cannot flash any custom rom zip file. It will soft brick your phone.
Please restore P769 CWM back from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136204. Download backup file and unbzip it. Put extract files in your sdcard /clockworkmod/backup/2013-08-30.12.00.00 folder. Extract file should contain several .img, .tar, .a, .log and .md5

Well correct me if I am wrong, but I guess you "only" deleted some system files, right? Do you remember which ones were the ones? Or at least the folder they were in? Then you only need to extract that stuff from a kdz/ the bin file and push them on your phone using adb or maybe even the dd command.
Maybe if someone is kind enough, he ll probably provide you with the files you need. And cmiiw, but I guess you deleted stuff from /system/app...

It's depend on what method you use. You can flash kdz using offline method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344
or use LG mobile support tools from LG website. If you choose this you don't need to download any kdz. It'll download kdz automatically from LG server then flash it on your phone. It take about an hour or two.

well, the verdict is in, on this one: i'm screwed. i've tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried, and i can NOT flash this damned phone. it's BRICKED.
i borrowed / hijacked my brother's computer (windows7), all day. i tried a few different things - i even tried the same way i flashed it to update it ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2356536 ), which was worthless to unbrick it.
the problem in every case was that every time the damned flasher got so far along it would "lose the connection to the phone". drivers installed, etc, etc, no difference. i suspect its because i couldnt connect it in all the various modes (mtp ptp etc), since the ONLY way it would connect is in "software upgrade mode".
i had to buy another phone, won't have it till tuesday. lesson learned: NEVER buy a phone that didn't come from samsung... you just can't do what you want with them, without a lot of time, patience, experience, and a windows computer.
thanks for all the help.

Did you try to recover your phone with LG mobile support tool. It can reinstall rom in almost any soft-brick case. Please try it if you haven't try it yet. Many people restore their phone by that software. The steps are
- Download LG mobile support tool from LG web site
- Boot you phone to S/W update mode
- Run Tool and select recover phone
- Wait about 1-2 hours to download and flash
If it's not hardware problem, this should solve your problem

i never found that on their website, and i looked quite a few times. however, i noticed when i used the b2clientsetup.exe that if i run it without running the shttp server first, that it downloads a support tool from the net, which does not work - keeps saying phone lost connection. not sure if its the same tool.

Yes that tool. In my region, it has download link but for P769 it has request repair service.
Download from http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe
You must remove following lines from hosts file
127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
127.0.0.1 csmgdl.lgmobile.com
Then run it

yeah, that's exactly what i did, but it would keep "losing the connection to the phone". not sure why, but i suspect it was a driver issue - and i installed the latest drivers, which made no difference. i also went back and installed older drivers, which made no difference. i must just be lucky as hell, or some thing .

Try to use others USB ports, if that also doesn't work maybe you have to try on other computer.

thanks
In my country (RO) there are some GSM Repair Centers. You should not give up and you should go to them. Par example, I flashed an HTC Mozart when the battery was dead and I bricked it (idiot, I know). I went to a shop like the ones mentioned above and I think he said that he has to flash the phone using a JTAG or something like that (I know that he has to open the phone to reach it's motherboard, solder some **** out there and... flash I guess). The whole thing was about ~20E. Anyway, keep digging, maybe you'll eventually find something that works for you. If not, go to someone who can "force flash" it and maybe you can save the device.
Hello. I've tried using multiple ROMs in my rooted phone with KDZ Updater, and I guess that one of the updates hanged, or maybe it was something else... I really don't know. What I do know is that my phone currently isn't able to enter recovery mode, and is also not showing any boot logos (neither 'LG' nor 'Android').
I did see some threads about this, one of them talking about starting in Download Mode and using KDZ in CS_Emergency mode with some French ROM. Well, I tried that and as soon as I press "Launch software upgrade" the program freezes until I plug my phone off the PC.
I feel as if something was stuck in my throat and the only way to get it out is by completing this... so any help will be greatly appreciated!
PS: All this happened in the process of trying to install Cyanogen Mod 10.1 (which I did not try yet).

Thanks for the reply!
I appreciate the info, and I'll be checking what you've said. All the links in that thread are inaccessible because Fileserve only lets you download what you upload. Anyway, I'm curious as to what this "DLL" file does on a smartphone... why do I need these things? I never heard of them being mentioned anywhere.
I'll start educating myself ASAP. Meanwhile, thank you very much (and by the way, if it's of help to anyone, my phone is a GT540g from Personal, Argentina.
You're welcome. Sorry, didn't check to see if the files were still there and most every other site just had reposts of the fileserve links. However, finally found what you need here:
http://files-gsm.ru/lg flesh/GT540gAT-00-V20a-722-34-DEC-28-2010+0.dz.zip
I found this dll for your phone but not sure if it works with the firmware you have for that version:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/9v9e78xronadm0c/GT540g_100506_MP.dll
"A dynamic-link library (DLL) file is an executable file that allows programs to share code and other resources necessary to perform particular tasks..."
Basically it ties together a few things in Windows to let the flash tool work for your specific device is my understanding. But they have to be specific to the phone or it won't run once it checks the build.prop of the phone vs the firmware you're trying to install.
Keep in mind, I do not have this phone and have no way to test if they will or won't work so just like any other mod or upgrade - you do so at your own risk.
Thanks, but...
First of all, I'm very sorry not to have replied before, but I've been busy. Anyway!
Thanks, I appreciate the links, but I don't understand where to put the .dll file in my phone. I know you'd think I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to use Google, but I actually did search beforehand. I simply don't get where to put it.
Also, if it's worth the shot, I just noticed that I should disable the "Modem" that activates when I plug my phone in. The problem is, KDZ just does this simple log [attached] and states "===FINISHED===" (Note that I have 2 Modems listed in my device manager [attached screenshot])
Solution GT540
Thanks for your help everyone, I came to a solution after a full year lol. Here's my enlightenment, from another Thread:
Just wanted to leave my 2 cents here, I've been trying to do my best since around august 2014, no success. 2 days ago I retried this, and I DID IT! I will tell everyone what I did very shortly:
My problem that I solved: I can boot, device works like a charm. But: no boot logos, no recovery.
My solution for TL;DR: UNINSTALL ALL DRIVERS FROM DEVICE MANAGER 1ST, then reinstall. After that, flash a fastboot ROM and use it to WIPE ALL THE DATA IN YOUR PHONE! THIS was what I needed and was never explained: you had to WIPE the old data in order to get the boot screens back.
IN THIS ORDER (THANK YOU to those people from previous replies, gathering all your info was of great value):
Uninstall all of your phone drivers from your PC!!! This is what made most of my headaches go away, just use Device Manager and uninstall anything from LGE. After that, plug in your device in your USB ports (always BACK ports, not front ports, important). It should detect all drivers and download them.
IF it fails (it generally does with LGE USB Modem), you can go to Device Manager > Unknown Device (the one that wasn't recognized) > Right Click and Update > Choose 2nd option, then choose "choose from a list of local controllers" (or whatever the button says). After that, scroll down to LG Electronics, Inc. and install what didn't install.
I also found these drivers, but I did not test them: http://www.mediafire.com/download/p693hcz6kkouh19/USB_Driver_LG_GT540.zip
Huzzah!
Now you're set to begin:
FIRST thing you wanna do is a factory reset, this is something I'd forgotten with time, don't make the same mistake as I did. You can do it by turning your phone on and pressing Volume +/- & Home & Quick Search buttons all together for 5 seconds (it works, be patient and wait for it, even if you open the camera or any other stuff).
Download this Google SDK Tools (unzip and put the folder in C:\ drive) and this Fastboot drivers for GT540 (unzip and put the files inside the folder in C:\android-sdk).
Skip this next line if you know your ROM has fastboot.
Now, if you don't have a ROM with fastboot, I recommend you use either European Open+Fastboot or V20C Orange France Fastboot ROM.
Click to collapse
Since you have Fastboot enabled, now all you need to do is turn off your device (all this with its battery on it, no weird things) and hold the Camera button before turning it back on. This should take you either to a black screen, or simply to no display, like me. Either one will work anyways.
Now press the Windows key > Type cmd and open it with Right Click > Run as Administrator.
In it, type all this, command by command (you can paste by right clicking):
cd C:\android-sdk
fastboot -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
Click to collapse
And now it's go time! Do what everyone else says in here: Take out your phone's battery, SD and SIM cards, fire KDZ Updater up as Administrator (If your KDZ freezes, then it's either faulty or you did not install msxml, look for a good KDZ that comes with that file and delete your current one), choose CS_Emergency PhoneMode and:
1-Plug your phone while holding the volume DOWN button (don't worry! My phone didn't show "Download Mode" either, if you hear the Windows "Somethingpluggedin" Bump noise, it's ok).
2-Flash French V20A
3-Unplug your phone once KDZ says "==FINISHED==".
4-Plug it once again, holding the volume DOWN button.
5-Flash out.kdz (remember! it's CS_Emergency).

Side question: Is Lumia 920 section officially dead?
So now i'm on WP8.1 looking forward to update to 10, whatever it is. Insider preview, technical, whatever, I just need to. But all fast ring, slow ring, all are not working. Everytime I select one, it force me to reboot in 10s, then REPEAT for eternity. No update in update setting.
I don't know if the lumia 920 section is dead or not. But I do know that Microsoft has ceased support for the lumia 920 concerning windows 10 update. SO you cant update it anymore via insider etc etc. --> But still the last preview version was really buggy so consider yourself lucky.
If you really want to try/update to windows 10 then look at the XDA lumia 920 main page (see button somewhere above this site. Are we allowed to post links in this forum???).
I've used these steps to update my lumia 920 to windows 10 and it really works. However you need to know that Windows 10 on the lumia 920 isn't perfect.

Appreciate your input. I tried. That tutorial was to sideload app and tweak and stuff. But i'm still on 8.1 and unable to do so IDK why. Everytime I sideload that app I get run time error. Please check capabilities etc.
Right now I am trying to revert back further to oldest 8.1 (before small patch OTA) to see if I can re-try that trick again.
I got a new phone. And giving this one to my sister. Facebook doesnt work very well (news feed skipping problem) so I try to upgrade to WP10 to get a new FB app for her.
Edit: Wait, I take that back. I checked general wp section. Not L920. So I need to check it again to make sure. Thanks.

Well I don't really know what you meant with side loading. When you look at the lumia section onder development you'll see a link with the Title:

I essence you're going to put a windows 10 OS from a different device onto a lumia 920 I thin k it came from the 950. So putting a custom rom on the 920.

RM821. Would fit perfectly
Oke well, if you want I can make a Faq based on my experience resulting in a working lumia 920 with an official windows 10 os.
However please note that If something were to fail or if the device were to brick (wich you can just unbrick see the lumia 920 board) I will not be responsible for any of it.

Anytime, mate.
First you need to download the following files:
- Hex_loader
- SBL3_Engineering
- WindowsDeviceRecoveryToolInstaller
-------> - http://nokiaviews.com/unlock-windows-phone-bootloader-and-enable-mass-storage.html
- EFIESP & Custom Rom File
-------> - https://www.mediafire.com/folder/nd6yd9pzbld7v/DHT_L920
- Malaysian FFU file RM821 you need this one because, apparently,
the Malaysian firmware uses a different storage partitioning, which is necessary for windows 10.
Yes it is possible to reformat the drive with windowsitnernals, however most people on the board and from experience can tell you that it won't work.
When you flash the ISO it will say that the ISO is too BIG.
-------> - http://www.lumiafirmware.com/guid/059R024
- WPinternals 1.2
-------> - http://www.wpinternals.net/index.php/126-wpinternals-1-2-released
Now First organize:
Extract the zip/rar files to a folder and make it clear so that you can find it again:
I don't know if certain steps are or aren't necessary but I'll include them since
I've done them in order to make it work.
It is recommended to HARD reset first before doing this.
First: you need to install WindowsDeviceRecoveryToolInstaller,
1 to recover the phone and
2 it will install the right driveres on your pc. Atleast I was told to do this (you just have to install it that's it).
Second: Start WPInternals:
1 you need to bootload your device using the following files, HEX, ENGINEER etc the first 3 files above.
2 you need to change your current device firmware to the Malaysian ROM. --->PLATFORM--> FLASH--> Flash ORIGINAL FFU.
3 it will take some time and it will need a reboot
4 After that go to load iso and use the files--> WPInternals go to the -> Platform -> Flash -> Flash Separate partition and select the MainOS partition.
Third: when it is done:
1 Your device MAY show the following glitches:
-Stops at nokia screen,
-stops at windows screen,
-stops at the boot screen,
-it will boot to the start screen but you wont see any tiles,
-it will boot to the start but you can't use the touchscreen,
-it will boot to the start with touchscreen but you wont be able to swipe beyond the start screen.
2 To solve this you need to do a hard reset so if possible turn off your device.
Then coneect your device to a charger while holding down. When you see a exclamation point ! you need to let go and press the following up-down-power-down. It will then do a hard reset.
If you are unable to turn the device off then do the following--> perform a soft reset bij holding power and down. When it restarts quickly connect the charger and hold down. If you're to slow it will boot up and you need to do it again. But you'll have enough time to do this.
After restart it should work.
Good luck.

IDK why people love mediafire so much. I don't remember the last time that I managed to download big file through that website. And DepositFiles.
No matter at what internet speed i have. No matter how fast I can download from other websites. I just can't get more than 30kbps from that 2 websites. I just can't.
Edit: Worse thing is ffu file download can't be resumed. Everytime my stupid internet disconnect for 3s for absolute no reason, the download restarts.

Can confirm everything is fine. Thanks so much, mate. This is very very helpful.
Happy to hear that everything is working. Really sorry messing up the hard reset combination.
I beat my head against this for about eight hours yesterday and am at my wit's end. Thanks in advance for any help.
The short version: After rooting my Blue VIvo 5, installing a few apps and setting Nova Launcher as my launcher, I started getting some errors. Apps would fail mysteriously or not launch at all. Reinstalling the apps didn't help. I tried to take an OS update that the phone said was available, but when I tried to update it said the system was damaged and I couldn't install the update.
Well, I thought naively, I'll just remove all my user data and start over. That will restore the original ROM and I'll just start over, right?
BIG mistake.
Now when I try to start up my phone the sequence goes like this:
1. I get a popup that says "Unfortunately, Carefree Launcher has stopped."
2. After clearing that popup I can choose my language.
3. Next I go tot he screen where I choose my wireless connection. Choosing the connection works, but the next screen where I put in my password only allows me to speak - there's no keyboard option. The only time during the process I really laughed was when I saw what Google's voice recognition software tried to enter for the wifi password.
4. I managed to get the password entered by using the OTG dongle and a USB keyboard. After that, though, it goes to the "Checking for updates" screen, at which point it tells me "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped." Then it loops back to the "choose your network" screen.
5. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I managed to get TWRP installed and running, but the stock ROM file I found on another thread (BLU_V0050UU_V09_REPAIR.zip) won't install. SP Flasher (which I also tried) throws a message about a mismatched baseband unit of some kind, and TWRP says there's a file called META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary missing from the archive.
So here I am, asking the community what I can do short of laying out $200 for another phone. I might be able to install the AOSP or CM12 ROMs that are in this forum, and I might do that if I have to replace the phone anyway, but if there's a way to restore the phone to its initial OOB state, I would love to know how to do it.
Again, thanks for any help you can give me.
Update, 16 hours later: I had a flash of inspiration this morning. Since it looked like at any rate I was going to have to get another phone I went ahead and ordered the replacement for same-day delivery. It arrived this afternoon, I unboxed it, set it up and backed it up with "adb backup". Then, I tried to restore the backup onto the bricked phone.
You guessed it. I never saw a notification that the backup was loading. It was the same wifi network, check for updates, broken google play loop again.
So unless someone has a brilliant idea as to how to restore the original firmware, I am going to keep the old bricked phone around and try installing aosp or cm12 on it, whichever looks like it's further along. Maybe both. Why not?
Anyway cheers.
Do you not know how to use SP Flash Tool?
Download the original rom + SP Flash Tool from elsewhere in this forums and flash it. The one for the Gionee S6 or A55 slim on the Marshmallow thread will do. I think someone has posted the original vivo 5 ROM somewhere as well.
Basic steps are open SP Flash Tool.
Load the scatter file (comes with the rom). This will fill a lot of fields in the flash screen (boot, recovery, logo, system, userdata, etc.).
Do not change anything. Click "Start"—this will wipe your phone. If you don't want it wiped, disable the "userdata" field.
Connect your phone properly turned off.
It should detect your phone right away.
Wait for the flash to end.
Disconnect your phone and turn it on.
Should boot alright.
If it doesn't detect your phone, see in Device Manager if your phone is properly recognized. If it's not, download the MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM drivers.

I've got SP Flash running, but it's the Linux version. which I think is the same, as Windows except that it looks like there's a "Download" button rather than a "Start" button. Unless I'm missing something, which could easily be.
I followed the directions above, not checking "userdata", and hit "Download." No response from the program for over 30 minutes. I eventually found the timeout setting, lowered it to 2 minutes, and ran the program from a console window. The console output indicated that SP Flash was finding the proper USB port, but then nothing. No communication with the phone and the program eventually timed out.
It could be a lack of drivers. Linux comes with drivers for most common USB devices baked in, but this might not be one of them. Thanks for the hint - I'll check when I get home later tonight.
Again, I appreciate the help.

I have no experience flashing with Linux, but that definitely looks like lack of the right drivers. Maybe following this tutorial will work for you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...torial-how-to-setup-spflashtoollinux-t3160802
The thread says you need to know the specific way to boot up after connecting the cable, depending on the phone. On the Vivo, my experience is that you don't need to press anything, just connecting the cable with the phone powered off will do. However, if you happen to brick your phone by flashing something wrong, or interrupting a flash, you'll need to press volume down upon connecting the cable.

Sorry about that, mate, I came out rather bluntly for some reason. Just wanted to ask whether you'd had any experience with it..

I did a little digging and won't go through all the gory details, but the long and short of it was, after removing a package in my Linux distribution that was interfering with accessing the serial port, I was able to flash the stock ROM onto the phone. So I am good to go. Plus, now I have a good idea of how to start over again if necessary
Thank you again so much for your help.,
