Playstation app gone? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

after updating to ics through the method given on this board, i lost the playstation apps.
is there any way to get them?

I have also noticed that the 3D camera app is in the System apps but not showing up anywhere? Using root explorer i selected the 3D camera.apk and tried to install. It said already installed (Replace) So i selected yes "Still not there?"

The 3D Camera is hidden I believe for the sake off the new 'Album' application.

I was worried about the missing 3d camera at first too but it's still available from the settings within the default camera app. I'd have liked a shortcut still though like GB had.
I still had the PS apps downloaded from the GB version so just used them. I won't be using it though after realising they want me to rebuy games I've already bought from PS store on PS3. Takes the mickey.

3d Gallery working on {ROOTED} devices

MUST BE ROOTED
the gallery app that came with the phone is lets just say horrible so i asked in irc if anyone knew of an alternative to the stock gallery...riggsAndroid forwarded me a copy of the 3d gallery apk and it worked with a few modifications to the permission level! So with that being said and with his permission i am sharing this info with all of you.
MUST BE ROOTED
to install the app you will need to be rooted as this needs to either be pushed via adb or using rootexplorer... and you need root to modify the permissions to rw r r using root explorer. MUST BE ROOTED
I take no credit for this discovery other than being a test bunny to verify it's working status so please say thanks to riggsAndroid for providing me with the direction!
MUST BE ROOTED
I will host the APK as i am not sure if it falls under warez guidelines or not so enjoy!!!
MUST BE ROOTED
Can you use this gallery if your not rooted? Sorry could not help it.

3d gallery?
On the stock gallery there is a setting that lets you connect straight to your Xbox. Haven't tried it yet though

I found out on the first day of having the phone that the stock gallery app was just horrible. I went to find the 3D gallery APK but just found it on the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cooliris.media&feature=search_result
It works fine on my Photon. No root needed.

Wow - you guys are right... when I go to the market link online I see the Photon is grayed out. I just installed it last week though through the market on my phone. Can you try to just look up "gallery" in the market and see if you can install it? It shows up as the first search result on my Photon.

not stock 3d gallery
That's the one... I think the issue is that if you try to install from the Market on the Web, it won't let you. If you look it up on the Market on your phone, you're fine.

I think that's what we're trying to straighten out. This thread was started by someone in order to get the 3D Gallery app on to our phones - -but the method requires ROOT. Myself and someone else have said there is a version of the 3D Gallery app on the market that will install on the Photon WITHOUT root if done from the phone's Market (not on the web).
However, there may be some confusion as to whether or not we are talking about the same app. I have used the stock Android 3D Gallery app before and the one I just DL'd and installed from the Market on to the Photon seems to be the same. If it is, then that would be the method to use since it does not require root. However, if the app referenced in the original topic/post is somehow different then I think we'd all like to know (since it requires a bit more work to install).

[Q] weird settings in cam?

Attention Devs. Opened my camera settings and saw settings for blink detection, smile capture, and a bunch of other ones too. Tried to turn on blink detection, and got a force close:-( after that all the extra settings were gone. Anybody else seen this? Which dev can unlock these hidden powers first?
Cool find! I'd love to know more about this as well.

I'm on the stock ROM and I only see Face Detection in the settings.
Can you take a screenshot of this? A screenshot would really help everybody see where exactly the settings are located and how they are laid out. Thanks!!
Like i said after the force close they were gone.

I wasn't "**** talking", I was just making an observation that you copied a /system app from your phone without root. Something wasn't adding up, just wondering what it was. Maybe you had a device that was already rooted or maybe you rooted it and didn't know.

it was not already rooted. I did not root without knowing it. this is not my first rodeo. if everyone is going to criticize my valid post, should I stop posting? no root. the settings were there if you wanna have a look I uploaded the camera apk from my non rooted stock Sprint EVO3D.
Itll be easy for you/us if you gave us ALL the details.
How did you pull that file without root?
Any odex camera file with it?
Did you install anything that might have did this/ accept an update? Software/Hatdware version? Etc.

[Q] Tune In Radio - Installed, But not Installed

Tune In Radio is not listed in my app folder, but it does show up in Settings/Apps.
When I open up Google Play, it shows up as installed under My Apps. I was able to LAUNCH it from there, but other than that, there is no other way.
I got the bright idea to un-install it using Settings/Apps. Unfortunately, although it is now gone from Settings/Apps, Google Play still says it's INSTALLED! But the "Open" button is now gone, so now not only is it not installed, I can't even download it!!!
Any ideas on how to get it downloaded, and why it didn't show up in my app drawer in the first place?
If I'm thinkin right, tune-in will show up in the HTC music app....not as a stand alone app in the app drawer.

Well, I hosed that. It never occurred to me to look there. Since I uninstalled it, I can no longer reinstall it from the Play store. I tried to reinstall using Titanium Backup, but although the install reportedly went ok, it still does not show up!
I even tried to re download using HTC's download app, but all that does is redirect you to the Play store I'm not resetting the phone just to get it back either!

This morning I got the idea to go to HTC's support web site and see if I could email them about this. Under "Select your phone model", the EVO LTE isn't even listed!
They screwed up the launch of this phone, screwed up Google Wallet, and apparently don't even support the thing!
I ran into this as well... Hope it can help:

Thanks! I was able to download it from Amazon. I didn't think to try that because I got so frustrated.
I'm happy. Except for the Google wallet issue.
And the Sense slowdown issue.
And probably the next issue.

You need root explorer, then go into system/app give write permission top center and rename ones you don't want .back and move it to a safe place in case you ever want to swap them in future.

Did you install mod from an ics Rom. JB changed in that camera is integrated with gallery, only works if gallery is active.
The odex file below is part of the app structure so they go hand in hand. If you remove they go in pair.
In ics samsungcamera and secgallery are the apps. These are probably the mods and something like gallery4 not sure in JB cuz I don't have it.
I'm root and when I remove bloatware I use Titanium Backup I first freeze watch how phone behaves then delete after a few days. If you remove anything put it in sdcard somewhere safe and note permissions before you move it.

I wanted to try it out, but my EVO LTE says "Problem Parsing Package."
Oh well. Not a big deal.
From the article: "Transfer the file (from pc) then use a file browser to open the apk. Once that's done, navigate to settings>home and select Google Now Launcher as the default.
Edit: I successfully downloaded the file, on my phone, located with file explorer, clicked to open, had to allow apps from unknown sources, and selected it as default launcher.

Perhaps, in security settings, allow unknown applications.

Update:
Where I successfully installed this on my rooted device, I get the parse error on my stock, unrooted device.

Why not just get it from the play store again? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher Just saying that will probably work better if available in your play store like it is mine...
Edit: may need a 4.4 ROM in order to do so.

The one in the play store requires Android v4.4 - you will get a message saying not compatible with your device if running 4.3 or earlier.
Also, if you download the modified APK that does work on 4.2 ad 4.3, it will indicate you need a newer version of google search, even if you have the latest version already downloaded.
There was an older version that was modified to work with the Nexus 4, but the version is so old that the feature set isn't worth the switchover vs the default stock Sense 5.0 experience, at least IMHO.
